Bridget Elizabeth Allison.

Daughter of one of my most trusted agents. Hard-headed, confident and outstanding at what she does. With the looks of a runway model.

And now, my PA.

I didn't have much of a choice. Blaze is one of my most trusted men, and when he made a simple request, there was no way I could refuse. Not after everything he's done for the agency.

I would rather prefer having Bianca or Roxy any day. That's not to say that she isn't good, she is. She's great at her work, however, a little too overconfident. Calling me out when I say something she doesn't agree with, shoving her opinions down my throat and making me regret saying yes to this. I do admire that about her, though. She isn't afraid to call me out when she thinks I'm wrong, and not many people can do that.

"We should just let hand them over. You've tortured them enough, boss" I lift my head from the laptop in front of me. She is beautiful, don't get me wrong. Her Auburn hair comes down to her waist, and her figure is a perfect hourglass. That being said, I still don't take opinions very well.

"I plan on killing them soon" She sighs at the words and flips through the file in her hand. Rain patters on the window behind me, thunder rumbling once in a while. "Boss, killing isn't always the solution" I clench my jaw and look back towards the laptop.

"I didn't ask"

Suddenly, the door bursts open and Astraea stands in the doorway, her hair neatly tied back and she has one of my sweatshirts on. She runs into the room and throws something on my desk. A letter. Her breathing is heavy, with a strand of hair on her left eye that she doesn't bother to brush away.

I motion towards the seat opposite mine. She sits down, pushing the letter towards me.
"Read it!"
"Why?"
"Just read it!"

I pick the letter up and open it, straightening it in front of my face. She chews on her nails as I set it down on the table.

"It was outside my apartment door" She points to the letter.

She doesn't seem to notice that there's another person in the room.

Dear Astraea,

I hope my son isn't giving you a hard time, knowing that's all he ever does. So, how is everything going? I heard you two got together. How cute. However, consider this piece of advice; stay away. He isn't an angel. He will ruin you sooner or later.

As for you, Zane, maybe it's time to stop getting innocent people involved in your dangerous life. We both know that it's not safe. For either of you. So, if you're reading this, just know this; there's no saving her now. She's going to suffer, and it's going to be your fault.

With love,
Elias.

I don't notice that my hands are shaking until Astraea walks over to me and cups my face with both hands.
I'm pulled to her chest in a swift second and her hands start massaging my hair. She takes the letter from my hands, setting it down on the table.

"Take a breath. It's okay" She mumbles soothingly. I do as said. It's then that I notice Bridget staring at us with confusion covering every inch of her face.

Astraea pulls away from me, clearing her throat and fixing her hair. Then, she smiles at her and nods.
"Hi. I'm Astraea"

She stares at her for a few moments before coming to her senses.
"Oh. Um. Bridget" She extends a hand. Iris takes it.

"Who are you?" Bridget asks, a puzzled look on her face. Astraea bites her lip and smiles awkwardly.
"I'm his...friend"

"Harder"

I clear my throat, earning both the girls' attention. "Can I have a moment?"

They nod. Bridget walks over to the shelf in the corner to pick up a file. In the meantime, Astraea runs over and kisses me, turning away just in time. Her kiss lingers on my lips, tingling. She gives a little wave before leaving. Bridget follows.

Once I'm alone, I stand up and walk over to the window, noticing the way the raindrops trail down the glass. I can't, for the life of me, remember what I did so wrong that she might suffer. Have I told her everything about my past? I guess. There's things I've done that I don't like to recall, but what she doesn't know won't affect her.

The part that's worrying me the most is how he even knows about us. Unless there's a spy in the building. I don't want to believe it, but I can't help but fret. How else did he know about the Astraea and me? Or maybe I'm thinking too hard. Maybe he just wanted to upset me. That's something he's good at.

I rub my face and place a hand on the window. If there really is a spy in the agency, then its a matter of great concern. That means no meetings until we're sure. There's a few people on my mind that I blind trust, but what if it's them? Felix? No way. That fucker loves ETF too much to do something like this.

Bianca? Roxy? Royce? Diesel? It worries me more than it should.

Fed up, I decide to take a ride around the place. I grab my keys and walk out to my car.

"Hey, Zane?" I hear from behind me. I turn around. "Yeah?"
"Have you seen Astraea?" Felix asks, worry evident in his eyes. I raise a brow.
"Why?"
"Oh, you know...just...wanted to talk?" He shrugs.

"Just tell me" I pinch the bridge of my nose. He finally sighs.
"Look, it's nothing that concerns you. Maybe I just want to ask her about...something" He nervously says.

"Someone?"
"Something!"
"I'm feel sorry for whoever that is"
"I said something!"

"I think she's with Royce" I say and leave the building.

"Look, maybe he just said that to worry you. You know how he is. Why are you taking it so seriously?" Roxy says from the passenger's seat beside me. I sigh.
"It isn't just that. How did he even know about the fact that-"

I cut myself off. She chuckles.
"Well, it's quite obvious, actually" I snap my head towards her. "What?"
"I said it's pretty obvious. The way you look at her"

My grip on the steering wheel tightens. I turn left towards Hades.

"What about the three?" She raises a brow. "What do you think we should do about them?" I kiss my teeth and shrug. "I'll kill them, sooner or later"

"Why not now?" She questions. "Torturing in process"

"Ah, right. How can I forget that? Stupid me" We reach outside the restaurant and I park the car. Inside, everything seems to be functioning normally. We make our way upstairs towards the meeting room.

"Don't tell me you guys haven't kissed yet" She says out of nowhere. I almost choke on my own spit.

"Harder"

"Focus on your fucking job, Roxy"

We take our seats and let the meeting begin. Jax speaks first.

"ACE has shifted their headquarters away from New York" He informs. A series of light chuckles emerge from the seats. Bianca clears her throat and speaks.

"I wonder why" A slow laugh leaves my mouth at the tone of her voice. She shrugs.
"I mean, with Tyril gone, they're gonna have to come up with a plan soon. Or the entirety of the agency is going to crumble" She flattens her palms on the table.

"Who do you think is controlling ACE in Tyril's absence?"

I shrug. "Its likely someone he trusts. Devin, probably"
Bianca's eyebrows shoot up. "Micheal?"
I nod.
"Ew" Roxy comments.
"I've heard he's got a big-" Bianca gets cut off by Roxy's sigh.
"I don't even care about that. He's disgusting in general"
"Men are disgusting"
"Period"

I stare at the two in awe more than anything else. For the first time in my life, I've seen them getting along. That too over a guy they've met once.

"Boss" I turn around. Diesel stands in the doorway.

"ACE has a message"
