***Arush's P. O. V***

The whole morning I tried but failed to concentrate on my work - Sahana's face, the way she was giggling in the morning and how she became all silent as soon as her brother left - all these things swam in my mind.

"Hey Arush....are you gonna be curt and cold with me too?" came in the voice of the person that I had least expected, breaking my trail of thoughts and making me whip my head towards the door in shock.

"Hey ya fucker!! Gonna keep me waiting at your door? I have had a very long flight you know!" Raj said, leaning on the door frame with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"But weren't you supposed to come like a month later?" I asked, indicating him to enter.

"How about nice-to-see-you-man instead of why-are-you-here-so-early ?" Raj asked, scowling.

"Okay fine!! Hey nice to see you asshole!" I said, feigning excitement. Raj chuckled as he took the seat opposite to my desk.

"Now tell me why are you here so early?! I swear I hate that mischievous glint in your eyes" I said, scowling at the now prominent smirk on Raj's face.

Okay let's make this clear - a smirk on either of my friends' face is always bad news to me!

"I landed today morning....I came back early because I finished the work early.... they're planning on sending me back there permanently with a huge ass raise though" Raj said, a bit gloomily.

"You're thinking of taking up the offer?" I asked him, unable to keep the sadness away from my voice. How can I not be sad? I literally have like two friends, and if one of them goes away to a foreign land forever, that just leaves behind the love sick puppy aka Kabir. And he'll be with his Riya and completely forget about me, so I'm gonna be all alone!

"Is that sadness that I hear in your voice?" Raj asked, smirking.

"I uh..no" I said curtly, looking away from him.

"Aww who knew asshole here had a heart?! Oh wait no... I knew...or to be more precise, I heard..." Raj said, his voice trailing off.

Uho!! The fucker Kabir has spilled the beans to Raj!! 

"A little birdie told me something about the great heartless bastard Arush Sharma having a girlfriend?" he said, wriggling his eyebrows and smirking.

"I..uh.." I stuttered, not knowing what to say.

"Oh Arush you sly dawg! I heard so much about you that I straight up to office, chucking my leave aside!! Oh this robot has a heart eh?! Porn Arush?! Masturbation?! And to top it all, a girlfriend?! A freaking girlfriend?! A walking talking human being and not a robot! Who'd have thought that the humanoid Arush Sharma was in fact a human and not a robot?!" Raj said dramatically, making me roll my eyes.

"Done with your drama? It's not as it seems" I said as sternly as possible while avoiding his gaze. Don't ask me why I'm avoiding his gaze - I myself don't know why?!

"I.." Raj started speaking, but a soft sound started issuing from his phone and he stopped talking because of that familiar song-

I glared at Raj, who feigned innocence and took out his phone and cut the call.

"Oopsie....what do you know?! Even my phone knows you're lying" Raj said innocently, though the corners of his mouth were twitching.

"She's not my girlfriend" I said seriously, making Raj raise his eyebrows at me in disbelief. Sighing, I told the whole story, of how and why Sahana lied.

"So.... you watch porn and masturbate huh?" Raj asked, smirking.

"Seriously?! That's what you want to know?!" I asked dryly.

Raj grinned sheepishly as he said "Well who knew that you had emotions too?!" 

I rolled my eyes at him and resumed my work, but Raj being Raj couldn't just shut his mouth now, could he?!

"What kind of porn do you prefer?! And how frequently do you masturbate?! Do you masturbate every time you watch porn?! How often do you watch porn?!" Raj showered questions on me, making me want to strangle him right here right now!

"Anywhoo.... so who's this girl?" Raj asked, wriggling his eyebrows at me, the determined expression on his face clearly suggesting that he's not going to let the matter rest.

"Her name is Sahana.... a new employee in my team. Kabir's girlfriend Riya too is in my team now....both are best buddies" I said, my lips automatically twitching into a smile at the memory of Sahana calling me her boyfriend.

"Oh?! She is Kabir's girlfriend's best friend you say?! Is she single?" Raj asked the expected question.

I gritted my teeth as I said "How would I know about my employee's relationship status?"

"If the said employee can call you her boyfriend, I'd expect you to know her relationship status too" Raj said, smirking.

"I think she's single" I said through gritted teeth. How dare he even think of hitting on my Sahana?! Doesn't he know that I can't bear to see her even talking with another guy, and now he's thinking of hitting on her?! How can he?! Isn't it against the bro-code to hit on the girl your bro looks at?!

Dude he'd follow the bro-code IF he knew that you liked her - my subconscience reminded me very kindly.

Like her?! Dude shag off! I don't like Sahana! I just...you know?! I just observe her, that's all!

Well this 'you-know' is something called as 'liking' or 'crush' or 'infatuation' and your ego won't get lowered if you admit to your best friend that you have a soft corner for this girl - my subconscience indicated.

I don't like Sahana!!!

"And is she attractive?" Raj asked, grinning and wriggling his eyebrows suggestively.

I felt my blood boil at his question - how dare he ask such a question?!

"She...is" I heard myself say through gritted teeth.

"Oh really?! That's....saucy!!" Raj said, grinning from ear to ear. I got so pissed that I was actually contemplating throwing my laptop on his face!

"What do you mean?" I asked sternly, and I'm surprised that Raj didn't just turn into ashes due to my glare!

"I just meant...you know.... a girl that you find attractive just called you her boyfriend.... do I hear you turning into a human?" Raj asked, chuckling at his own stupid joke.

"Ha ha very amusing" I said seriously. Phew that's a relief - he's not thinking of hitting on Sahana!

"Alright human, I'm going for lunch... care to join me?" Raj asked, looking through his phone.

"Uh yeah...in a minute... I...uh...just have to draft this email....and then I'll join you" I said, looking up from my laptop screen.

I just need to wait for like 10 more minutes - Sahana goes for lunch at 1pm and it's still like 12:50pm!! 

Hey no don't look at me like that! I'm not delaying my lunch just to see her!

Half heartedly, I started typing the email while Raj left for the cafeteria. I kept looking at my watch every few seconds because time seems to be moving too slowly!

A wise man {Albert Einstein} once said that time moves at different speeds according to one's situation. For instance if you put your hand on a hot plate, even a minute seems like an hour, but if you're with a pretty girl, even an hour seems like a minute - my subconscience gave his timely input, as usual!

Finally it was 1pm, and hastily saving the draft mail, I rushed to the cafeteria, only to be met with a scene that made my blood boil!!

Sahana was in Raj's arms, both looking into one another's eyes, and the whole cafeteria seemed to be looking at them!!

How dare Raj even touch her!! And how could Sahana get so close with him when she's not even held my hand?!

Balling my fists in order to stop myself from running into Raj and punching him, I cleared my throat loudly, making my presence known.

Everyone, including the intimately standing Raj and Sahana seemed to come out of some sort of a trance, and everyone looked at me before nervously going ahead with their regular work!

Raj...you're dead meat my man!! You're dead meat!!
