"Mommy! Look at me!" Issac flips his scarf, showing me his costume as he twirled his wand.

I was typing away on my laptop, working on the files and ideas I had for the upcoming gala when Issac came bursting into the room.

Crap!

It was Halloween and completely forgot. I spaced out, unable to remember what day of the week it was.

Luckily, we went to the thrit store downtown for costumes on Sunday, a couple of days ago when me and Issac where walking to the library.

Issac was originally dressed as one of his superheroes, Iron Man or was it Spider-Man.

I wasn't sure but that's what he wanted to be until he changed his mind to Harry Potter. He was crazy addicted to Harry Potter as it was one of his favorite movies aside from Coco.

I thought it was cute of him to wear as it suited him perfectly and it made me excited that we were able to match.

My costume was the basic Gryfinndor outfit. It was a cute skirt with high knee length socks wrapped with the same jacket Hermione wore.

Nevertheless, Issac was so cute in his tiny Harry Potter costume. I was taking him to trick or treat later near sundown. I had the whole day with my little Jelly Bean and I was excited. Unfortunately, Ness couldn't make it this year as she had to go to her mother's for the week.

Issac was disappointed that Nessa wasn't going to apart of our trick or treat tradition but I convinced him that we could go for another hour longer.

I push my laptop and notes on the small coffee-table, settling Issac on my lap.

"Ooo, you're getting so big, Issac." Issac shyly giggles a hand covering his mouth as he grinned mischievously.

"Who are you?" I asked looking down at his costume. I pretended I didn't know what it was because I knew Issac would protest and explain.

"I'm Harry Potter! Mommy! I know how to fly and wish things to happen."

I faked a gasp. "Really?"

Issac vastly nods, "I have glasses." He giggles, showing me the fake glasses. He was amused with the glasses and the wand.

"I know. They're so cute on you." I say, giving his glasses back.

"I'm not cute mommy. I'm handsome." He pouted his lips, crossing his arms studding.

I laugh, placing a chaste kiss on his cheek. "Okay,"

"Do you love mommy?" I ask, lifting his chin up to look at me.

"Yes." He said kissing my cheek,

"What's your favorite holiday? Christmas or Halloween?"

"Christmas!" He shouted grinning ear to ear. I knew it was his favorite hoilday. He would run on Christiams morning jumping into my unresponsive arms to wake me up.

"Why?"

"Because Santa comes and brings me toys when I'm good."

"So, you like presents huh?"

"Sí."

"Okay, so we don't have to go trick or treating. I mean you don't like candy...you like presents so let's skip Halloween this year." I hide a smirk, pretending to look anywhere else but him. I loved to tease him every chance I got.

"No! I want candy too!" He whined, pouting his cute lips. His blue eyes begging me to take him trick or treating.

"Okay, let me get ready so we can go and get food first."

Issac happiness doesn't last so long as my phone rings. I tell Issac to be quiet and play with his toys on the ground. He whines but does what he is told.

As soon as he leaves occupied, I hit the answer button hoping it wasn't anyone too serious.

"Miss Black!" The squeal of Sarah's voice is heard on the phone. I huff out in annoyance at my boss. She was making my life impossibly difficult than it had to be. Her phone calls was her way to annoy me and she knew what buttons to push.

She was everywhere at work, constantly telling me what to do and nagging about her problems and don't get me started on the gala I am too busy to plan.

"Yes, Mrs. Matthews?" I speak with my professional voice, masking my irritation with a forced attitude.

"I need you now."

"Now?" I question, confused most of all angry. I couldn't today and I specially gotten the day off because it was Halloween and Issac wanted to go Trick or Treating.

"Are you dumb? Yes, now. I need the files."

"Excuse me, but I can't today. It's Halloween and my son wants to go. With all due respect, Mrs. Matthews I asked in advanced for the day off. Is there any way you can-"

"I don't care, get here now or you're fired." She hung up, leaving no room for argument. At this point, I had enough. I was boiling with rage. Every ounce of my body was annoyed with the woman whom I call boss.

Right. She was my boss, the reason why I deal with her ridicluious ways. I roll my eyes, not caring if they were going to say like that forever.

"Issac, honey." I call out, disheartedly as I knew I was going to break his heart. Telling your kid no because of the things you couldn't provide was a straight sting to your heart. My heart broke thinking about Issac.

"Yes, mommy?" He said with excitment in his eyes. He thought we were leaving for lunch but little did he know I was going back to work. I had to take him to the daycare because I didn't have anyone to look after him.

After the whole Becky situation, I was hesitant in hiring another babysitter. I didn't want anyone new to take care of him let alone treat him bad. Ness was out of town so she was out of an option. There was no one else to trust...

"Issac, I have to go back to office." As soon as I uttered the words, Issac's bright eyes tore into saddness. He pouted his lips, playing with his fingers. A habit he done when he was nervous or too depressed.

"Will we go get candy?" I tried to get the words out, but I couldn't. I wasn't;t sure how long I would be out and keeping a broken promise would hurt Issac.

I kneel in front of him, holding the palms of his hands. "I don't know. It depends."

"I'm I going to daycare?" I nod my head. Issac knew the drill. He was in the daycare during the week but every now and then he would go if there was no one to watch him.

Issac eyes swell up with tears as he looked down. My world broke apart seeing my little Jelly Bean crying. It was the last thing I wanted. So, without thinking I pull him into my arms, rubbing his back.

He let out a quiet sob. "Issac, don't cry." I wiped his tear, every second reminding me how much of a failure of a mom.

"Okay, mommy." He said through teary eyes as he rub his eyes. I couldn't stand him crying so I guess there was another way. I smile at the thought knowing Issac will be happy.

"You know what? You're coming with me," I said causing my Issac to grin.

I knew my son.

Marcello's POV

Hunters laughter booms through the restaurant causing curious faces to look our way. It didn't help that there were people irritated and fustled with us.

"What?" He stop when he saw my sour expression. I was irritated and he knew it. I didn't like his playboy manners but who was I to judge.

"You know it's true," He said, sipping the alcoholic cocktail he had in his hand. He wore a small smug look. He was shameless of his previous declaration as if is wasn't inappropriate.

I huff, "You really need to watch yourself," I state to my best friend but being who he was he didn't care.

"You have to admit, Rebecca's hot. Don't you just want to drag her and fu-"

"Don't you dare finish that sentence," I cringe in disgusted at his shenanigans. He knew how miserable this was for me. I didn't like to talk about his business especially if it involved one of my employees.

I knew he had a thing for Rebecca as he always lurk around my office twenty four seven and I couldn't blame him.

I admit she was hot and seductive as they come. Her fit body and alluring persona that attracted men in an instanct. She was every boy's dream of you want to put it like that. But she didn't interest me one bit. I wasn't attracted to her as Hunter was.

Hunters eyes held lust and unholy hunger that needed to be fullied. I was her boss and Hunter was putting me in a uncomfortable position talking about her in that way- like that.

This wasn't the first time hearing about his sexual endures. I was uninterested as he talked about his playboy ways with women.

As I only had my eyes set on one woman.

Autumn.

She was the one I couldn't stop thinking about and the only one who couldn't be compared with others.

Her brown eyes held excited and intimidation. She was uncomfortable about talking about her personal life as she was nervous about something. It wasn't me that made her nervous but something else. I could see in her eyes when I dropped her off to her building. The date was great at least I think it was. So far she hadn't texted or called. I given her my number but I was unsure. I wanted to be confident she would call but I didn't know my standing point with her.

"So, how was the date..." He said, dragging the word date knowing how much of a nerve wreck I was. His words brought me back remembering I was here.

"It was good," I cough, sipping the bitter wine slowly so Hunter would drop it. I was freaking out whether if Autumn wanted me or not. One date with her and I was hooked. It sounded weird and pathetic but I wanted to be in her life.

"So... second date I presume?"

"Hopefully." I said, plain and simple as Hunter smirked and said nothing.

"What?"

"You worried Marcus?"

Yes. "No,"

Hunter chuckles, most likely not believing me. I knew that because he was grinning mischeviously as he took a piece of meat in his mouth.

"You know you can't lie to me,"

I rolled my eyes, looking elsewhere. "Whatever."

"Are you going to tell her?"

"Tell her about what?" I asked. Hunter set aside his utensils, his face full of concern.

"About you know... Alissa."

I said nothing, swaying the wine in circular motions with the tip of my fingers.

"It was one date." He paused. "But you have to tell her if you want to be with her."

"I know,"

Autumn's POV

Strolling into the building of hell, I hold Issac in my arms greeting my co-worker, Leah. Leah was the first person you see when you enter the building. She was also one of the first people I had the pleasure of meeting when I started working here three years ago. She was an exceptional friend who would cover some shifts if I needed help with Issac. She hadn't meet Issac personally but she knew about him.

"Hey,"

"Omg, who is this?!" She gushes seeing Issac in his Harry Potter costume. She smiled at Issac's who hid his face in the crook of my neck. Issac was shy when it came around strangers and Leah let out  chuckle seeing Issac's shy attitude.

"Issac, my son."

"You're son?!" Her eyes widen in surprise, and excitement. Her honey eyes sparkled with bewilderment. Hearing and seeing were two different things as

"Yeah..." I say as Issac peeks with his soft eyes at her. She cleared her throat,
moving on.

"How old are you?" She asked Issac in a sweet baby voice who nustled more into my neck.

"Aww.... he's so cute." She said as I thanked her. "Are you guys going trick or treating later tonight?"

"Um... I'm not sure yet." Issac moved in my arms wanting to look at her.

Issac pouted at me then at her. Leah understood my expression as I gave her a sad smile. She put two and two together and understood that work forbid me to go out with Issac.

"Okay, I have to go." I smiled picking up Issac from slipping through my fingers.

"See you later."

Anxiously, I scurried down to the elevators praying that work wasn't going to take long but hearing Sarah voice I doubt that would happen. She was stressing me out that it took a troll on me. It was difficult jiggling work between taking care of Issac. I barely had time for myself and relax. Most days I feel drained and tired, waiting to get curl myself into a warm bed and sleep. Unfortunately for me, that wasn't an option.

Issac is the only thing keeping going at this point. He was the reason I got up in the morning despite my back pain and throbbing feet.

"Mommy, I'm hungry." Issac mumurmed through droppy eyes. He patted his tummy, looking down.

"I know baby, I know." I said as the elevator took us up. A few people were standing, either texting on their phones as they waited for their stop.

"I'll get you something to eat when we get up okay?" The elevator keep closing and opening every time it went up. Levels later, we arrived to the eighth floor where my office was. It was surprising to see familiar faces working when it was Halloween. I knew some co-workers had kids but I wasn't sure if they cared for it.

Issac's eyes widen looking upon the office floor. He was stocked as he saw it for the first time. The office was pretty memorizing if you thought about it. There were high windows letting the sunlight shine in and huge decorative grey pillars that hold everything together. The lobby was neat and comfortable. A few expensive couches and vases that made the lobby the way it was.

I passed the lobby as I greeted everyone whom I knew. Each having a surprised look when they saw an impressed Issac in my arms.

"Okay, Issac this is my office okay. Stay here okay, I'll be right back. I'm going to get you food." I put Issac in my comfy chair, hoping he wouldn't move for the next few minutes.

"Okay.

I step out of the small office, seeing a familiar face, Brooke. Brooke was another co-worker whom I worked with for other projects. She was walking causally in heels, looking down at the files she had in her hand.

"Brooke." She glanced up, smiling when she saw me, my body towering over hers.

"Hey, Autumn. What's up?"

"I'm so sorry but I have a favor to ask. I know it is probably last minute but can you take care of my son?" I ask nervously, hoping she would say yes. I didn't want to impose but I didn't have a choice. It was either leave Issac alone in an unknown environment or have someone that I know watch over him.

"You have a son?"

"Yes, his name is Issac. He's in my office. Can you watch him for a little bit? I have to run to the lounge really quickly. He's hungry and he wants to eat."

"Yeah, of course no problem."

"Thanks, I owe you one." I rush out, jogging downstairs to the lounge. It was weird having to watch over Issac at work as the feeling was different.

I focus on getting Issac's food, hoping there was at least something miminal to eat. I would have to buy Issac more food if he was still hungry.

"Autumn! You're here," Sarah said unimpressed. I was so close to the lounge but she had to be there at the exact moment I was going in. She was eating a doubt with a cup of coffee in her hands. She chewed the food not caring if she was talking.

"My office now,"

"Wait, but..."

"Now," She glared making me shut up. I really wanted to protest but I knew she would spent twenty more minutes lecturing and keeping me from Issac. With a fake smile, I enter her office taking a seat the last time I was here.

"Okay, here's what I need," She said, leaning over her desk.

"I need you the files completed at the end of the day and I need a bulletproof plan for the gala. I expect it to be on time. When your done, hand it over to Mrs. Cortez and also have it sumbited via email."

I nod, wanting to kill myself in the process. This workload a lot but thankfully I got most of it done over the weekend. It would at least take me two hours to finish the final drafts and revisions.

"Okay, you are free to go."

"What? Really?" I asked quietly to myself. I was stunned. Sarah would give me a much more harder time as usual as if she was in a better mood. She didn't yell at me like she did most times.

I hesitantly got up from my chair, slowly making my exit to the door. As I walked, I saw Sarah and her face expression supressing a smile. She seemed happier and in a better mood. It didn't have to do with Halloween right?

Was it possible that she was a witch? I had no idea. All I knew is she was not the monsterious of a boss I knew and I was grateful. I make my escape not questioning it any longer. If this was the chance to get out of hell, I would take it.

Nevertheless, it was werid and spooky. I would have never imagined Sarah as a decent human being as she was the devil. It gave me chills.

Shaking my head, I go into the lounge where I was orignially going to get food. There was no one in the bright colored room as I looked around the vacent space. There were water bottles sitting at the edge of one of the tables and a few fruits. I took the bottle of water with a couple of yellow bannnas knowing Issac loved them.

I smile as I made my return to my office. I wasn't gone that long. It's been ten minutes and I was sure Issac was fine. He was probably looking in amazment in the items I had in my office. I had a couple of toys in there as I forget to take them home with me for Issac. I had a couple of toy cars in my purse and somehow they ended up in my desk draws.

The pictures of me and Issac plastered on the bulletin board and frames was the best decors I had in there. I loved them because they were the reminders of my Jelly Bean and how cute they looked. One photo, me and Issac were smiling at each other when he opened his gifts for Christmas.

My favorite picture out of them all was when Issac first experienced snow. I smiled as I remembered his reaction. He thought we were high on the clouds as he looked at the icy white flakes. I had to admit it snow did look like a cloud.

I laugh as I recalled his first snow angel. He was swirling with happiness shouting to me to take a picture as he imprinted his body into a perfect snow angel. But other than that, my office was like any other boring room.

"Hello?" I knock on the door, walking in. I stop, noticing my son wasn't where I left him. "Where's Issac?" My chair was empty and Brooke stopped the pacing she was doing.

She froze unable to say anything. Brooke didn't look up. Something was wrong. I could sense it.

Brooke said nothing, sweat tearing down her face. Her face was pale as her body was shaking out of fear.

"Where is Issac?" I asked again but this time sternly. I had my arms crossed as I glared her down with questioning eyes.

"I-I," She shuttered. "I- I don't know,"

My heart stopped.

"What do you mean?" I uttered carefully, hanging on to the little patience I had left. She couldn't possibly lose him right?

"I don't know where he is, Autumn." She cried. "He was right there when I checked on him and he was gone the next, I didn't mean to-"

"You didn't mean to what? You lost my son!" I yelled frustrated beyond compare. She lost Issac? My son!

My heart was beating uncontrollably out of my chest as my hands began to shake. It was as if I couldn't breathe. I saw nothing other than faint white spots, and my heart breaking into two. I couldn't take it. I needed to find Issac.

I ran as fast as I could, not knowing where I was going. Thoughts went through my mind, thinking the worst. Was he hurt, was he kidnapped? I wasn't sure and that was the part that scared me to death.

I saw people looking at me like I was crazy because I was- I just lost my son
