Third POV

Rushing to get to work to time, Autumn runs through the busy streets of New York with her watch tickling down the minutes. After dropping Issac at the daycare, she knew she was running late. She didn't have time to take a taxi and running in heels with a purse was terrible. By the time Autumn gets to work, she would have multiple blisters and bloody feet by the looks of it.

Autumn, not having any other ideas, takes off her shoes and continues her pace. If she keeps running at this speed she just might make it on time. Not caring about the people on the street, she runs though the coward. Having another tardy would be one step closer to the company firing her for good.

She couldn't lose her job, not again.

Strips of her brown curls fell down from her tied back bun, a messy bun now situating because of the light wind that blew. Messy hair, feet hurting and the lack to keep up was the most... in Autumn's opinion is what you call, I-want-to-die situations.

Autumn hated running and when I mean hated she hated. She didn't like to exercise but she still did it. She loved food but that didn't mean she liked working out. She was running for a purpose and that purpose was her job.

If she didn't have a valid reason to run she would not.
She had a few more blocks to go. Fifteen more minutes, Autumn. You can do it! She cheers on, pushing herself beyond limits.

Picking up the pace, she speeds faster. I'm so tired. God, why do you hate me so much?!

I'm almost there. I'm almost there-

Boom!!

Autumn grasps when strong arms surround her, keeping her from falling flat on the ground. The heels and purse that she held fell hard down on the ground. Her eyes widen now realizing she bumped into the stranger. How foolish was she? Almost tripping and falling.

Embarrassed and flustered, she turns to the person she collided with. Still hurt from the collusion herself.

"I'm so sorry, I-I didn't mean to. I was... I-I," She shuttered like an idiot, still caught up in the strangers arms not taking a look as she was too humiliated.

"It's okay," The stranger chuckled, releasing his tight grip on her, making sure Autumn was steady on her feet.

"I-I'm sorry, l didn't mean,"

"It's okay. It fine," Autumn looks at the stranger finally having the guts. Her eyes widen at his height. He stood about six feet three inches, way taller than Autumn's five seven frame. So, this is how short people feel next to me?

She stood there in amusement at his height, not recognizing him at all. He looked familiar but she couldn't pinpoint where he knew him.

He smiled down at her, flashing his perky white teeth and round but delicate dimples.

One thing Autumn was sure of, this man was handsome. Dangerously so. The stranger could pass for a model with his looks.

Standing approximately six feet and three inches tall, his green eyes glistening in the sunlight and sun kissed brown skin would make anyone fall completely in love with him but this is not the love-at-first-sight moments. At least not with Autumn. That would be for a more lucky girl. A one and a million lucky kind of girl.

Autumn refocuses and apologizes once more.

"I'm so sorry again for bumping into you and look I need to leave so um bye," She murmured, leaving so fast that the stranger didn't think but pull her back into him. Not intentionally but it happened.

"Do you need a ride?" He looks down to her feet and to her heels to her purse both on the concrete floor that fell down when they crashed.

She was barefooted, holding onto her heels and purse beforehand. He was very curious on why a beautiful woman like herself was running in the streets with no heels. Why? He didn't know why and he wanted to know. Kinda odd, but it was intriguing.

The women he met had social status and would drop dead at Autumn's attire and actions. They would think she had no class whatsoever and she was a crazy poor woman fetching for attention. He looked at her not with pity or any other bad thoughts but he knew he needed to do something for her. He didn't know why but her cry for help was clear as day.

She looked like she was in a hurry. There was no other explanation. Unless she knew who he was... and was playing a role of some sort. You be surprised how much that happened. He doubted that theory because Autumn looked genuine.

"Uh... it's okay. I'm heading that way. Thanks for the offer, sir," Autumn uttered not really knowing what else to say. She most definitely did not want to impose and to let some stranger take her somewhere. She couldn't trust people, that's how people get killed, kidnapped or raped. Who knows what this guy true intentions are right?

"It's okay really. Are you in a rush somewhere or something? I can have someone take you." Autumn tried to reject the offer but by the look he was giving her made her feel embarrassed or even worse guilty.

"I-I'm not sure. I-I have to go," Scared and nervous, she glances down her golden sparkle watch on her left wrist. Checking the time she had five minutes left. She couldn't make it now. There's no way. Why did she think running would help at all?

I'm going to be so late.

"How long will it take to take me to Co Tech Industries?" She was desperate now. It was better to be ten minutes late than thirty minutes. Thankfully, there's less traffic than before possibly making it easier for her to arrive earlier than expected. Running can't help now, she's done. Autumn's tired and exhausted which sucks. Big time. The day hasn't started and yet all she wants to do is go home.

The man softly smiles, "This way,"

15 Minutes Later...

I'm screwed. I'm late again!

The vehicle stops in front of Autumn's company. Like on a mission to be completed she gets out of the car, picking up her purse and opens her door in a hurry.

"Thank you! I have to go. Bye!" Slamming the door shut, she heads into the building. Tilting her head up uneasily she braces herself for whatever hell she's going to get.
