Surprise ship...
TW: blood, punching, foul words, homophobia
High School AU.
As I walked the empty halls of the high school, I heard something. For the time being I decided to rub it off and continue walking to my destination. I was headed to the library to turn in a book for the teacher, as I usually did things for the teacher since I usually finished my work pretty quickly and easily, since I have a tutor that teaches me later lessons so I already have them memorized. Thankfully my teachers don't suspect anything and just look past it, just thinking I'm naturally skilled, which I'm not.

Continuing my journey, I thought to myself of how I was doing so well at what I've been doing, and this is the first time I've actually been proud of myself in years. With the new tutor, she helps me memorize and copy, also helping me put everything into a list, helping me do things easily. Especially with a small YouTube business on the side, I also work at a pottery place. I'm never required to go in, only when I want to, so I don't really work there, but the owners pay me anyway. I mean, I do create tons of pottery for them to sell in the time span of just four hours.

Pottery and modeling clay have always been my favorite things to mess with, I'd always create something new, whether it's sell-able or not. Whenever I got to the library, the sounds I heard were now audible, and you'd be able to tell that something bad was happening with what was heard. I carefully, but quickly, set the books down and speed-walked to the corner.

I carefully peeked around the corner and saw two, supposedly, good friends, fighting. I didn't want to eavesdrop on their argument but I did want to make sure things didn't escalate, so I stayed standing there, listening in.

After about ten minutes, it did indeed escalate. Vincent, the one who had apparently started the fight, according to Zak, had picked Zak up by the collar of his hoodie, pushing him against the lockers. That's when I knew I had to step in. The look on Zak's face told something really bad would happen.

Tears filled his eyes as Vincent raised his fist, he clenched his eyes shut, getting ready for the pain to set in.

I stepped behind him, grabbing his forearm tight. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" I asked aloud. "Beating this f*ggot up, what the fuck does it look like?" He yelled to me.

That's when he turned around.

He dropped Zak, and that hurt my heart, I could tell Zak got hurt from the drop. "Clay - Please! Let me go! It hurts!" he cried, he usually was an attention-seeker, always wanting anyone and everyone's attention.

And me being the tall, quiet kid freaked everyone out. They found me intimidating, I guess, I think I'm weak, but apparently think I'm strong or something
"Don't victimize yourself." I let him go. "Get up, asshole. Get going." I gritted my teeth.

He got up and continued down the hall as I walked to Zak's side. I held out my hand, helping him up.

"Are you hurt?" I asked him. "No, thank you." He smiled. He hesitated to do anything for a few moments, then quickly decided to hug me, shocking me. After a few seconds, I sunk into the hug and then we parted. I decided we would go do something not related to school to ease the pain and hopefully make him forget and feel better, if he was okay with that.

"Do you want to go get some ice cream or something like that?" I asked him.

He nodded and smiled.

Damn.. he's cute..

We walked to the office and checked out. We got in my car and we rode to the ice cream shop not too far from the school.

"Thank you for saving me, and for bringing me here." Zak shyly smiled. "You're very welcome. What was his problem, do you know?" I asked, turning into the parking lot. "Uh," he hesitated, "I didn't do his homework, plus he was tired of acting like he was my friend, because he did that because he literally has no one else, and if I could stand up for myself, I wouldn't of been around him in the first place. But he forced me to." I widened my eyes. "Wow, that's rough."

He sighed, "I wish it didn't have to be like that. Ever since--Can I trust you?" he hesitated once again. "Of course, you've told me all this, and I don't plan to tell anyone at all about your business, as it's none of their business." I smiled to him. "Thank you, so much. You are really the most trustful person I've known, at least since high-school started. But what I was going to say is that ever since Vincent found out I was gay, he started to treat me like trash, so I'm guessing he's homophobic." he stopped, frowning.
