Owen's P.O.V.

The train comes to halt and people are walking in every direction in and out of the train. I get up from my seat and make my way to the door. I step out of the train and at the same moment, I hear screams.

"Owen!" my parents and Hailey shout as they run to me. I don't know how many werewolves are here in the station but I'm pretty sure they all went deaf after hearing those screams of my family.

Hailey was the first to reach me, she jumps on me while running and throws her arms around my neck. I drop my bags to catch her. I almost lost my balance; does she not know she's not a kid anymore. Following her, my mom hugs me and Hailey and then my dad does the same. And we are now a giant human ball. But I feel so happy, I'm smiling and crying at the same time. The tears flow, tears of happiness. I feel like my heart is going to burst. We start jumping following the lead of Hailey while hugging. And I saw a couple of people giving us that judging eyes, but who cares. I'm with my family. They visited me in Lunardale last month and we just talked yesterday but why does it feel like we've been separated for ages.

After a few minutes, we break from the group hug. And Hailey says, "You are finally back."

"Yes, do you know how much we missed you?" says my mom with teary eyes.

"Welcome back Owen." My dad added, he is crying too.

"I missed you guys too, a lot," I replied while looking at them.

"You are not going to leave again, right?" Hailey asked me with her puppy eyes.

"I'm not sure, but I'm here for a few months," I replied truthfully. Because I'm not sure how long will I be able to endure the things here. It depends on certain someone, if he will not misbehave, I might not leave but if he tries anything funny, I'm out of here the next moment. Of course, I did not say this to Hailey.

"Give him a break honey, he just came back." said my mom giving Hailey a weird look.

"Why? If it was not for that asshole-"

"That's enough Honey." My mom cut Hailey of.

"Well, shall we have something before we go to the packhouse?" my dad asked me. "We have enough time."

I see the clock hanging on the platform, it was 16:00. As I mentioned I have made a plan to not see that jerk first in this town. Jason does a routine check of some check posts at the borders every day between 5 to 6 p.m., so if I go between then I can just inform people working at the packhouse to inform the alpha about my returning back, and as I know that they would just ignore it because why would anyone care if someone came back. we just have to do this only because of tradition. And so the alpha of Crimson Cresent pack, Jason will not know that Owen is back for a few days until someone says him about me. It's a pretty good plan if you ask me.

"Sure, we can grab some coffee, we still have a lot of time," I replied. And we walked to the coffee shop in the station. We all talked about different things, things we already talked about but it still feels new. We entered the coffee shop. It was cozy, with dusty brown walls and a wooden floor, lit enough to see things clearly but not too much to hurt your eyes. A couple of circular tables and chairs are placed and the wall on the side of the railway platform was entirely made of glass, so you can see the passing train, scenery, and people. We made our way to the counter, a blond girl with an innocent smile, wearing a black apron on a white shirt asked us for our orders. She was young, I say she was Highschool senior or a freshman in college. I ordered a mocha, my parents ordered frappes for both of them and Hailey ordered a latte with a long list of instructions. It felt like she was talking in some code language and I could not decipher a word. Really, how does she remember all this?

We took seats at a table near the glass wall and started talking. Hailey started to tell me about her life as a senior and her classmate, and this one guy who kept asking her out saying he was his mate but she did not feel sparks so she beat him up when he tried to slid his and on her waist. And I was like please stop, I do not need this much information, but Hailey is the bold one so this can't be helped. But I love her, I love that she is nothing like me. Then she started talking about her wish to meet her mate and how she is desperate to meet him. But my mom interrupted her when she started talking about the mate. Looking at her and me. I think she wants to say 'Hailey! Don't talk about mates in front of your brother don't you know the situation.'

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean it like that" said Haily apologetically.

"It's all right. And it's not like that I have not found my mate, I just happen to have a giant piece of shit that I don't like as a mate. And I'm fine with that. It does not bother me anymore." I say patting Hailey. "Plus, I do want to talk about your mate, because I'm not letting have an undeserving person have my little sister," I added. And she started laughing.

Our order was ready, so, I went and brought the mugs to the table. We talked more with coffee. It was almost fifteen minutes for five and I asked them if we should get going. We went to the parking and after putting all my luggage in we hopped in. my father stepped on the gas and off we go to the packhouse.

We reached there around 5:20 pm. They changed so many things in these five years. And if the old packhouse was not big enough (notice the sarcasm) they almost doubled the size. The gardens are as big as I remember, but when we reached the actual building of the packhouse my jaw dropped. It was not a villa, I'd say it looked more like a palace. A giant piece of architecture with white walls, big mahogany doors, and a huge fountain in front surrounded by a circular path to drive. It is five-story and I lost count of the rooms I was counting by windows. Just how much money did they put in this? This can easily fit the entire population of the Crimson Crescent pack. And when I say the entire population, I mean the current population. For a second, I was wondering if everyone in the pack moved in here or what. We entered from those ginormous mahogany doors and one of the ladies who was cleaning the artifacts in the hallway asked us if she could help us.

"Our son returned after five years so we are looking for the alpha to inform him about his arrival." My mom said.

"I'm sorry Mrs.Westwood, but as you know alpha is on his routine check of the check posts." She replied while looking at me up and down.

"Yes, I know that Susan. But can please tell us where we can find Mrs.Violet. We'll just ask her to inform the alpha." My mom said with a smile.

"Sure. Please follow me." She said as she started walking. She lead us down the hallway and then turned right leading to the kitchen. Mrs.Violet was working in the kitchen, Susan asked for her and in a few seconds, Mrs.Violet was standing in front of us.

"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Westwood how-" she stopped talking when she saw me. "Is Owen back?" a smile was forming on her face. I also smiled back.

"Yes. Finally." My mom said.

"So, you must be here to inform the alpha." Mr. Violet asked "but he is not in the packhouse right now. You can wait if you like." She added without waiting for our response.

"That's fine. We are in hurry right now. We wanted to ask you to inform him that we visited." My dad said with its' fine smile.

"Oh! Sure. I'll inform him. But How have you been Owen?" She asked looking at me.

"I've been fine Mrs.Violet. What about you." I replied with a shy smile.

"I'm fine dear. But I have to say, You have grown into a handsome man." She said nonchalantly.

"Well, I can't say that about you, You look just the same as you were five years ago, if not younger." I was still blushing from her complement.

"Oh! And a smooth talker too. I guess your partner will be very satisfied with you." She said making me snap out of my thoughts. My partner. 'I hope you won't tell about my presence to my partner at least for some days.' I say in my head.

I turn around and see the previous Luna Hazel Wolfe (Jason's mother). She came right where we were standing. This was not in my plan.

"Luna!" Said Mrs. Violet, "The entire Westwood family is here to inform the alpha about Owen's return."

"Oh really! How sweet of you. But Jason is not here right now. Why don't we have tea until he comes back." said Luna with her ever-present smile.

I froze, my mind stopped working. We can't do that, we really can't.

"Thank you for your generosity, Luna. But we are in a rush; Owen needs to unpack and settle before night." Replied my mom.

"Oh come one, Emma. How can you be busy for tea? And Owen is finally back after five years, I want to hear all the fun stories of Lunardale." Luna said and winked at me. Can she do that? I've never seen her doing something like that, I never even imagined it. And for a second I saw her kind smile turn mischievous. It was like she said 'if you know what I mean.'

My parents hesitated and looked at me.

"I guess it is fine to have a short talk," I said with a respectful smile. What was I supposed to do? I can't say no the Luna, I just can't.

"That's settled then."Said Luna as she started to walk. We followed her. What have I done? I am officially Mr. scaredy-cat-who-can't-talk-with-luna-and-thus-fucked-himself-up.

Author's note:

OMG, I did not calculate this. The Luna messed up the whole plan of my baby Owen. (Well actually I did that but he does not need to know.)

Just how much of an effect one tiny variable have in this giant problem?

Btw do you think the Luna did it intentionally?

Does she have other motive?

Actually, I don't think so, she is such a sweet lady.

I hope you liked this chapter. I know things are going pretty slowly, but the story is changing, there was a five year jump and I think  that it is better to give a little time to get comfortable with the change. Or this could be a calm before the storm. Who knows...
