Author's POV:

You felt the sun's rays hitting your face, making you groan. Rolling on the bed for a while, you got up. But a soft groan escaped your lips as the smell of fresh pancakes and chocolate hit your nostrils. 
You got up and walked outside, the sight in front of you ever so welcoming. Taehyung was cooking breakfast, he was done. He was serving it. He didn't realize you were coming toward him. You hugged him from behind, closing your eyes. He flinched slightly at first but smiled saying, "Morning, love."
"Good morning..." You spoke in a raspy voice. He turned around and hugged you saying, "What's with you today?"
"I don't know.." You said, smiling a little.
"Get freshened up. I made breakfast today." He said. You hummed and lazily walked inside your room as he stared at you.
"She's weird... hella weird... but adorable." He giggled before taking the plates to the dining table.

---After breakfast 

"Come, let me help you." You said and helped him with his tie. He smiled and pulled you closer, holding your waist firmly saying, "You look pretty."
"I am pretty." You said, unbothered. He smiled and said, "Can I kiss you?" 
"You're starting to ask for permissions now?" You asked, pretty surprised. He giggled and nodded before placing a soft kiss on your lips. 
You smiled and backed away saying, "You're ready."
"Let's go together, I'll drop you off." He said as you replied, "Aren't you busy? You will be late."
"I should drop you off first. I won't be late, I woke up early." You smiled and nodded, holding his hand. 

"Bye, mom, dad!" Taehyung said as Mrs Kim placed a peck on both of your foreheads before bidding you both goodbye.

Days went by, normally. More or less, every day was exhausting, full of work and love. And tomorrow was your anniversary with him. You bought a cake and kept it in the fridge.  
You smiled setting up the bed with pretty rose petals and mumbled, "It looks.... intimate." 
"Should I change it?"

"That's the worst idea, daughter-in-law." You flinched hearing Mrs Kim's voice who came in with a smile saying, "To experience new things in love, you need to take some courageous steps."
You were grinning at her as she chuckled saying, "It's good... based on my instincts, me and your father with shut the door, tightly tonight. Umm... we won't come out either, feel free." 
"Mother!" You gasped a little hearing her and said, "We never did that... we could neve-"
"You could and you will, someday... it's okay kids, we're modern. And don't worry, just in case... things go how I'm expecting." She smiled and patted your head leaving. You broke into a giggle, a blush creeping up to your cheeks. Gosh, were you actually liking that idea? No Y/N, you didn't, it was just a random encouragement by Mrs Kim, yeah.

---Time skip 

You smiled and waited for Taehyung who was supposedly coming in a few minutes. As soon as you heard the doorbell, you smiled and closed your bedroom door. It was his routine, entering your bedroom after coming back from work. You checked everything and got out of your room making sure he doesn't enter there. 

"Hey!" You waved at him with a grin, feeling your bodies clash together. 
"I missed you.." He mumbled, burying his face in your neck. You could feel his moist shirt due to his sweat. 
"You're sweating, was it hot outside?" You asked. He nodded and said, "It was exhausting.." 
"Let me go freshen up." He said, pulling away as you nodded. You watched him go away and looked at the time, 10:00 pm. 

1.30 hours, somehow you needed to make sure he wouldn't enter your room. You smiled and locked the door before sitting inside his room. 
"Oh? You're here?" He asked, the first thing after he came from the shower. You smiled and said, "Yeah... my room's kinda stuffy these days.." 

He nodded and said, "Then we should sleep here." 
"Right... we should." He frowned a little seeing you wondering about something. He wore his tee and sat beside you saying, "Hey, you okay? Any thoughts?" 
"Not really... I'm just- a little... exhausted from work."
"Oh... did you eat?" 
You shook your head as he caressed your cheeks and said, "I brought some pizza for us today. Mom and dad are not coming out for some reason... I asked them what was wrong before going in the shower but they were just laughing weirdly." 
"Oh.." You let out a mumble, knowing well why they were laughing. 

"Do you all know something I don't?" He asked as you shook your head, looking away. 
"What would we possibly know?" You asked, looking at the ceiling. He frowned and leaned in closer asking, "Okay...." But your eyes widened as he leaned near your earlobe, whispering, "You smell too good today though.." 

You gulped and looked here and there as he backed away, tilting his head. 
"So... are they wondering what I am?" Your heart was pounding really hard. He chuckled and caressed your cheeks saying, "Your face is obvious. It's nothing to be embarrassed about, we're married, and they'll definitely act weird but if you don't like that, tell me, and I'll ask them not to be too modern." 
"It's n-not that... I-" You gulped and looked down as he said, "Stop tensing, just because the elders tease us doesn't mean we're actually doing it." The 'it' made you gulp. He smirked slightly and said, "Unless you want to..." He placed a soft kiss on your cheeks and walked out of the room as you stared at his back, wide-eyed. 

He needed to stay put on one character. Once being all soft and then teasing you like that, he really needed to stop before you became crazy.

You chuckled, feeling shy. 
"Unless I want to?" You tried not to squeal and hid your face in your lap. 

---10 minutes before 12 am

"Oh my god.." You sighed. You were wondering how you managed to keep Taehyung away from your bedroom. The rose petals sounded so wrong, looked so wrong. After all that he said, he knew everything about how the elders were teasing you both. 1-year anniversary?
"Maybe the elders also did those on their anniversary night.." You sighed and facepalmed. You were so anxious, the rose petals were the worst idea, probably. 

There were balloons and confetti in the room but the rose petals... though they were pink in colour, still felt so wrong, so misleading. Or maybe it was just you who was overthinking, God knew.

You made sure the cake was on your hand properly and waited. Taehyung was definitely going to enter the bedroom at 12 am to wish you and you'd surprise him instead, yes, that was your plan. 

You stood there, the lights off and lit the candles. The moment he turned on the lights you'd surprise him. 

You took a deep breath and checked everything once. Soon, you heard a beep on the clock indicating it was your anniversary. Suddenly, the door opened revealing Taehyung who came in but got startled by you standing there, "Y/N-"
"Happy anniversary Tae!" You squealed out as he stood there, perplexed. He turned on the lights to see you standing there with a cake, a few steps away from him, behind you were balloons scattered everywhere, confetti and the bed was topped with pink rose petals which made a smile creep on his face. He noticed everything as you grinned saying, "Are you surprised?!" 

"I am.." He said, knowing you'd expect it. You chuckled and walked towards him saying, "Blow on it!" 

"Together." He said, holding your hands which were holding the cake plate. You smiled and said, "1...2...3" And blow! 
He smiled staring at you and placed a peck on your nose saying, "Happy anniversary, love."

Not much later, you both cut the cake and fed it to each other until...

"Hey! WHY did you PUT that ON my FACE?!" 
"Your tone is changing abnormally, chill wifey~"
"Hey!! You-" You smashed the cake on his face as he gasped. You tried not to laugh seeing his face as he removed it from his eyes and looked at you saying, "How dare you..." 
You tried to run away but he held your t-shirt, pulling you back, making you groan. You turned your head to look at him but burst into laughter seeing his cake face. What a sight!

"You'll regret it!" He said, frowning. You stuck your tongue out at him as he shook his head before brushing his cheeks with yours making the cake smudge on your cheeks.
"Ack!" You jolted up as he smirked saying, "Deserved. Now let me go wash my face, can't believe you wasted an entire cake!" 

"Whatever." You rolled your eyes playfully. Soon, he washed his face and came out while you were sitting on the bed. 
"What's with the pink rose petals, may I ask?" His voice sounded very- teasing. He was indeed teasing you. 
"Hey, stop! The bed looked too plain compared to all the balloons scattered here and there and this confetti. So... I decorated the bed, not my fault the only idea was putting flower petals!" You said and sighed. He giggled and sat beside you, engulfing you in a warm hug. 
"Thank you... it feels so cosy here." He said.
"Yeah, I like cosy things, you know." You said. He smiled and asked, "Won't you ask if I have anything planned?" 

"I don't really want anything..." You said. He smiled and took a closer look at your face saying, "But I want to give you everything..." 
"Stop! That's a cheesy line!"
"And you love it." You smiled and brushed your hand on his chest, drawing circles and hearts as he said, "Hey... it's been over a year since we've met, do you realize?"
"The nights change so fast..." 

"They do.." You could hear his heartbeat, so loud and quick. A soft smile spread across your lips while he swayed your body, holding you close. Just like those normal yet special nights, this was another one... which you could never forget.
