Meghna

"Hi Megha. What a surprise?" he gushed once he saw us making down the stairs.

I went towards him and gave a brief hug before pulling and answering his question "Why do you look so shocked? Didn't mom tell you that I'm coming home?" 

He shook his head while settling down on couch I sat beside him. Joseph sat across us and I saw mom going to their bedroom I think carrying his briefcase which he handed earlier "So tell me how are you? How's your work?"  he asked looking at me.

"I'm fine as you can see and so my work except for my head who tortures us every time we take a break from work" I explained shaking my head in annoyance.

They chuckled and I sat there pouted and looking bored "Is she giving you hard time?" he asked seriously once their laughter died.

"Come on dad. If she says 'Yes', will you go give warning to her head or what?"  Joseph asked amusingly looking at us.

"No I wouldn't do that. I'll just tell my friend to hire you in his company only if you want to!" Mr philip spoke looking at me in hope.

I shook my head "No. Thank you but I love this company___ especially the food at their canteen" I replied clapping my hands cheerfully.

Joseph busted into laughter at once and Mom joined him so I guess she listened everything what we're talking here. I frowned and glanced at Mr Philip who's giving me a warm smile which made my lips to tug upwards....

We were interrupted by sound of boots I whipped my head and saw two men were making way towards us. one was the earlier guard who opened the gates for me and  another one - Oh!

He looks handsome with robust structure. I found myself staring at him for more than a minute and If I'm not wrong I think I saw him smirking at me before stopping in front of us "Mr Philip may I leave now?" he asked looking at him.

"Yeah but why don't you have dinner with us?" Mr philip asked him.

"It's okay sir. My ammi must be waiting for me at home. So I'll take my leave for today...Aadi will be staying here tonight" he spoke motioning towards the other guy.

"Alright. Good night Ghaafar"

"Good night sir" he nodded and saying 'bye' to Joseph he walked away with Aadi tailing behind him and I didn't miss the brief glance he passed my way. I felt my heat raising on cheeks for a second and deciding on checking if they caught it I looking at Joseph who gave me a teasing smirk.

He wiggled his brows motioning towards the door from where they left a few seconds ago. I shook my head at him and turned to Mr philip "Who are they?" I asked.

"They are___" 

"You can ask later Meghu. Let him go fresh up first" mom yelled walking back to kitchen. I nodded and he left upstairs....

Joseph rushed to my side and occupied the place where his father sat previously "So tell me what's going on between you two? He's passing you sweet, cute stares!"  he demanded grinning at me.

My eyes widened and I gushed out hurriedly "Stupid. How could you think like that... I don't even know him. In fact this is the first time I saw him!"

"Then why is he looking at you? Huh?" he asked raising his brows.

I shrugged as I leaned back on couch to relax while he went silent for a few minutes "I think he likes you Dii!" I snapped my head in his direction in disbelief "Yeah... I've never seen him checking out a woman before. He's so different from others... He had no girlfriends in past"

I squinted my eyes at him "Why are you telling me all this Jo?" 

"It seems like you've little crush on him too. That's why I'm saying - he's a good guy. If you want I can go talk to him about you!" I gasped "You little...." before I can smack his head he ran further into the house.

"Stop right there Joseph!" I yelled running after him to catch him.

"You're so dead today.... Stop"  he entered the kitchen and went behind mom.

"Guys I'm working here please get out of the kitchen" My mom said turning away from us. He slipped and went behind a maid who's carrying a big bowl of soup "Ma'm please save me" she stuttered calling my mom.

"Kids I told you to get out from the kitchen"

"Tell her to stop hitting me mom!" he groaned looking at me in horror.

"Maa do you know what he said to me awhile before... No ways I don't leave him today" I said rashly shoving the maid who stood between us which resulted in her dropping the bowl.

"Oh my god!! What have you guys done!??"  mom shrieked looking at the mess we created just now. I gulped and looked at Joseph in panic, he took my hand in his and we slipped out the kitchen without making any noise.

We ran upstairs and in the background we heard her yelling and complaining for messing her kitchen. We bursted into laughter, holding our stomach we slumped on the couch. I was out of breath after sometime and stopped when I realized why in the first place I was chasing him....

"Dii.... Ahhhhhh" he groaned when I twisted his ear.

"What has possessed your body Meghu? Just now you're laughing...." he said telling me to leave his ear.

"I remembered why am I chasing you awhile ago"  I spoke placing my other hand on hip.

"Oh come on I was just teasing you!" 

"Really?"

"Yes! Now leave me" he whined

"I'll think if you plead"

"Please Dii" he muttered and giving him a smile I left his ear.

"I heard your mom yelling. What did you guys do?" Mr philip asked walking to us.

Hearing his question we again fell into fits of laughter and Joseph narrated the whole story to his father and he too joined us in the end. We made our way downstairs and saw Mom glaring at the three of us "You kids shouldn't do that, do you understand? You messed the whole kitchen which will take a lot of time to clean"  Mr Philip bellowed winking at us secretly, once he noticed the pissed off expression on his wife's face.

"Not my fault...." I denied.

"It's her mistake...." we both pointed fingers at each other. This made our parents to laugh and we made our way to dining room.

Settling down we started eating as maids served us "Who are they?" I asked my previous question again.

Mr Philip looked up at me from his plate and took a sip of water before answering "As you can see they're working for me. Ghaffar is the head guard which is why he always be with me while Aadi manages the security at home"

"But why do you need security? You're a business man right!?" I asked to which Joseph snickered beside me.

Ignoring him I stared at Mr philip who's exchanging glances with mom "Tell her David"

Letting out a sigh he started "I run a agency which is why we need security...."

He was cut off by Joseph "Meghna he runs a security agency which is quite famous in our state. We can say he's involved in many confidential cases where he cooperated with cops and helped them to arrest a few people who committed crimes. So it's obvious to have this much security!" 

Interesting...

I was silent for a moment and they're staring at me waiting for me to say something "Wow...I never heard about these agencies. It's so cool...."

"Aren't you scared?" Joseph asked suddenly.

"Why would I be Joseph. I thought this kind of operations were only seen in movies but here it's happening for real. I wanted to see one in future" I said excitingly looking at my mom who looks dumbfounded by words.

"Are you serious Dii??"

"Yeah. Please take me next time with you... Please...." I pleaded giving puppy eyes to Mr Philip.

He chuckled and resumed eating "People like you shouldn't be present there at the time of operation - it's too dangerous. You might get hurt. Can you throw hard punches without injuring your fist? No. It requires a lot of training Princess" he trailed to which I listened with utmost concentration.

"I want to join in your company!" I stated and heard gasps from Joseph and mom.

"Meghu! What are you talking about? Have you gone mad" mom yelled.

"Relax Sarayu. Do you think I would allow her to join in my company. No she can't without proper training!" Mr Philip said looking at her.

"Why not? Don't you hire women at your company?"  I asked dropping my spoon on to my plate.

"We hire but..." 

"But what? Please I want to join you in the next operation" 

"Stop it Meghna. Why don't you understand - this job is not appropriate for you. It's too dangerous"  Mom said across me.

"I know that mom. But just one time... I wanted to see how they'll finish off a mission"

She stood up slamming her spoon on table "You're not going anywhere. It's final!" she yelled looking serious and left upstairs.

I looked at Joseph and his father who looks unaffected by her outburst. I kept eating while peeking glances at them occasionally "You should stay here tonight Princess. It's quite late. Joseph take your sister to her room after dinner" saying this he left us.

After finishing our food we went upstairs in silence and he led me to the same floor as where he's staying and opened the door to the room which across his "Are you serious when you said you wanted to join his company?" he asked when we entered inside.

"Nah. I know about mom she'd definitely say no. But I'm sure about joining an operation" I replied sitting on a bean bag.

"Dii, it's too risky. Even I was hurt at one time when I went on this particular mission"  he stated and I'm shocked.

"What? You went on one? Tell me about it" I said patting on another bean bag saying him to sit.

He sat down and started "I went with Ghaffar once without informing my dad. They caught me in the end as hostage and demanded cops to release their men - they hurt me by slashing my skin with knife" he showed me his bicep which had marks.

"Don't know what happened but after sometime the men were shot and Ghaffar came to take me with him. Dad almost fired him for allowing me to tail behind him - I pleaded dad not to fire him. And at last he got convinced and let him rejoin in company"

"Oh my god!! Will it be that dangerous?" I asked slowly.

"Meghna, they're criminals and goons what do you expect!!" he answered snickering at my words.

"Okay. Your clothes are in wardrobe - go shower and sleep" he said standing up to leave.

"Why are my clothes here?" I asked stopping him.

"They sorted everything for you in this room before their wedding. They thought you'd move here after marriage" he said smiling at me.

I nodded at him and after bidding byes I closed the door and looked around the room "So this my room!" 

The walls were painted with my favorite colors and the wardrobe is neatly arranged with casuals, work clothes, nightwear and many more. Looks like mom arranged everything I require here....

Showering I went to bed and drifted off only after ensuring if my alarms on or not.

In the morning I went downstairs as soon as I got ready. I tried to talk with mom but looks like she's still upset with me. Letting out a sigh I sat down at dine table for breakfast. Joseph, Ghaffar, Aadi and Mr philip joined me on table. The guy from yesterday sat across me and when I looked at him he passed me a smile which made Joseph to howl in response. I jabbed his ribs with my elbow resulting him to sit down calmly...

Mom served us and when she came to me I looked up to talk to her again but she walked away after serving "Joseph!" I yelled in annoyance which made her to stop right in her place.

"Can't you see I'm trying to talk to you since morning? How dare you walk away from me?" I yelled looking at Joseph who's looking at me bewildered.

"Is this how you treat me when I visit your home?" I spoke glancing back at my mom who stood there with her back facing us.

Joseph grasped the situation and played along "Oh I didn't see you trying to talk to me. What's the matter?" 

"I wanted to say thank you for arranging my room so beautifully. And you're avoiding me - you're so bad joseph. I won't come here from next time" I said smirking at my brother.

"Okay don't come. Who even invited you?" this sentence earned him a smack on his shoulder from his father. I stuck my tongue at him oblivious to who are with us. When I realized it I glanced at them - who are just grinning at our acts. I blushed and dropped my head down to my plate "You're welcome Joseph - I'm glad you like the room" We heard mom saying.

She then left before I can say anything. I let out a sigh in disappointment "She couldn't ignore you even for one day. She'll come around you in evening. You'll be coming here tonight right?" Mr Philip asked me. I nodded smiling at him and we continued to eat.

I went to my car to drive to my office. But the stupid automobile troubled me again. I got out kicking the door in process "Ghaffar, can you drop her for me?" Mr philip said.

"Sire but who will escort with you?" he asked his boss.

"Aadi will drop me. Not a big deal" saying this they left in black Mercedes.

"Okay. Shall we?" he asked turning to me. I nodded and followed him to another white skoda. He opened the back door for me and I thanked him before settling inside.

Before we can drive away Joseph yelled us to stop. He got into passenger seat and buckled up " Can you guys drop me at college? My bike is at garage" he said smiling sheepishly.

I rolled my eyes and we left the driveway, I'm looking out the window when he started saying "Did you guys plan on hanging out behind our backs?" 

I looked at the rear mirror in horror while Ghaffar gave me a confused look...
