(Three years later)

"I can't believe you're moving," Sydney was saying to Remy and Cecil watched his boyfriend's face carefully, looking for any sign of distress at the words. Remy's face remained a blank mask, which Cecil took as a good thing. "I mean, Remy. You've never lived anywhere but Florida".

"Sydney," Remy said, "shut up, would you?" Cecil laughed and used his arm around Remy's waist to pull him close enough to press a kiss to the top of his head. "We're not moving for another two months".

"But you're going to be on vacation for a month and a half of that," Sydney grumbled and Remy just shrugged nonchalantly. "Are we going to have to throw you another going away party?"

"This isn't a going away party," Remy said his hand gently moving down to Cecil's which was still resting on his waist. "It's a party for Clarke".

Cecil looked around at the gathering of people in his backyard and sighed. He really didn't want this, he had insisted that his parents not throw him a party, but they never really listened to him, ever, so he wasn't surprised that they went ahead with it anyway.

"What have you achieved, Clarke?" Sydney asked, and Remy scoffed.

"Did you not even look at the invitation?" Remy asked and Sydney made a face.

"Of course not, I just saw that there was going to be cake".

"I got into law school," Cecil explained. "It's kind of why we're moving. Remember?"

"I still don't get why you need to take Remy with you," Sydney grumbled, turning his head to look away and Cecil eyed him carefully. He understood why Sydney wasn't thrilled about the idea of Remy leaving florida, but it made him feel as if Remy's cousin doubted his ability to take care of him.

"He's not taking me," Remy said, "I'm willingly going. There's a difference". Remy's hand pushed its way under Cecil's on his hip, and then stayed there. Cecil sighed and pushed his fingers through the gaps in Remy's.

"Why are you going though?" Sydney asked again.

"Because of Cecil," Remy said, and Cecil gently squeezed his fingers. "And Beckett".

At the sound of the boys name, Cecil's eyes shot over to where Beckett was standing across the yard, talking to a sullen looking Mr. Reed and Zane, who was standing suspiciously close to the boy, who didn't seem to be paying much attention to him.

Cecil and Zane had grown apart three years ago, and then back together last year when Zane came to him and apologize about his behavior and explained the whole situation. Explained how Zane had realized he was bisexual about a month after his fallout with Cecil, and it occurred to him that maybe his feelings for Remy had a bit stronger than he was allowing himself to feel at the time. The feelings had long since dissipated, Zane assured, and he spent the the majority of his time seducing helpless boys.

It was funny, watching the way Zane was eyeing Beckett, probably assuming that the boy would be easy to handle.

"If he touches my brother, I'm going to kill him," Remy said into Cecil's ear.

"Don't worry about it, Pumpkin. Sydney will keep them apart while we're gone, and then when we get back, we'll be taking him to Wisconsin and they will be far far away from one another," Cecil said, pressing his lips against Remy's temple.

Sydney snorted. "You want me to keep him away from Beckett? I am only one man".

"What's that mean?" Cecil asked, and Sydney's eyes shifted from Remy to him.

"Zane is the horninest thing in the whole world. Literally. The man kissed me before, he's so desperate. There is no way to keep him away from what he wants, and I actually don't think that them banging every once and a while is bad for them". The look on Remy's face could kill.

"What?"

"Oh," Sydney said, his eyes growing wide. "I shouldn't have said that to you". And then he was gone, and Remy was unfolding himself from Cecil's arms and trying to free his hand to hurry after the blonde.

"Cecil, let me go, I need to go kick is ass". Cecil tugged Remy's arm hard enough that he fell back into his chest, and he brought his lips down onto Remy's. When he pulled back, Remy was looking up at him with a dazed expression. "What?"

"You need to let him go, Remy. You can't protect him from everything," Cecil said, and Remy's eyes narrowed in annoyance before widening in shock.

"Cecil, am I my father?" Remy asked. "I'm trying to force Beckett to be a certain way because I think it's best for him".

"Awe, Pumpkin," Cecil said. "You're not your father". Remy looked relieved. "I know this for a fact. Your father will never like me this much".

Remy laughed, startled, and then he pushed himself up onto his toes to connect their mouths. The kiss was short, it had to be since they were surrounded by people, most of which were Cecil's family who were less than thrilled that both of the Clarke boys turned out gay. Still, when Remy pulled away, his eyes half lidded and lip pulled between his teeth. "I wish we could-"

"Yeah," Remy agreed.

"But we can't-"

"No?" Remy asked. "It kind of looks like everyone is outside and no one is in your bedroom".

Cecil was tempted to agree, throw caution to the wind and carry Remy up to his room, but someone cleared their throat and Remy sided and dropped down off his toes, pressing his face into Cecil's chest.

"Gee, can't you keep it in your pants?" Beckett teased and Remy mumbled:

"You're a little shit".

Cecil turned his head and smiled sheepishly at Remy's family, who Sydney had for some reason gone and retrieved. "Hey guys. Thanks for coming". Cecil noticed Zane not listening to him and leaning into Beckett, and glared at his best friend. It didn't really matter, Beckett's attention was completely on Sydney.

It had become more noticable lately, Beckett's growing interest in everything Sydney said or did, but Remy and Cecil had yet to speak to Beckett about it, discussing it only between themselves. They seemed to share the the belief that the only reason Beckett was attending UW Madison next school year was to get away from Sydney, to help get over his feelings for the very straight male.

"It's no problem dear," Mrs. Reed assured. "We're happy to be here. It's exciting, you getting accepted into Madison's law school".

"I just wished you didn't have to take my son with you," Mr. Reed said, displeased and Cecil felt Remy smile against your chest.

"And my brother," Atticus grumbled, pressing himself into his father's leg. While Atticus liked Cecil, he had been rather hostile towards him ever since he learned that Remy was moving to Wisconsin with him.

Remy slipped out of Cecil's arms again, and this time Cecil let him, releasing Remy's hand so he could drop to his knees before Atticus and force the eight year old into a hug. Cecil smiled as he watched Remy speak to Atticus in a hushed voice, and slowly the young boy smiled. When he did, Remy ruffled his hair and rose to his feet, returning to Cecil's side and sliding his arm around his waist. Cecil glanced from Atticus's still grinning face to Remy and raised his eyebrows.

"I kinda promised him that we'd fly him out to see us every other month," Remy said under his breath and Cecil's eyes widened. While he was going to law school, free of charge, and while his parents would be giving them plenty of money, that money would stop the second they realized that Cecil was going into environmental law, not corporate law. They were going to be in a tight place for a while, and buying six tickets round trip, from Florida to Wisconsin a year was more expensive than Cecil was guessing they'd be able to afford. Remy seemed to read his eyes because he pinched Cecil lightly on the side and said, "I know, I'll figure it out".

"We'll figure it out," Cecil corrected quickly, and then he smiled down his boyfriend. "We're a we now, hon". Remy grinned up at him.

"Soooo," Beckett cut in once more, propping an elbow up onto Sydney's shoulder. "Where exactly are you taking your trip again".

"Portland," Cecil said, and Remy's eyes lit up. "City of books".

"Why there?" Mr. Reed asked.

"I want to see a waterfall and Remy can read and-"

"Cecil's brother lives out there and we were invited to go stay with him and his husband," Remy cut into Cecil's explanation. "They're not really close, and apparently his brother wants to fix that".

"That's not why we're going out there," Cecil corrected. "It's just a place to stay".

"Liar".

"Look pumpkin," Cecil began, raising a hand to point at Remy with, but Remy's hand snapped up quickly, catching Cecil's fingers in his own and then turning their hands so Cecil had a view of their forearms.

On Remy's there was a very small tattoo of the moon, and on Cecil's, in the same location and size, a sun.

They were gifts from one another on their two year anniversary. They wanted to get something that signified forever, signified that one day, they would in fact marry, but neither of them wanted promise rings. Those were too easy to remove, to easy to forget about and too easy to lose.

Cecil could still hear Remy words in his ear from the day they got the markings. "Everytime you look at this, I want you to remember who you belong to".

At the party, in Cecil's backyard, a day before they left for Oregon, Remy squeezed his hand and shot him a daring look. Remember who you belong to. Remember who you're lying to. Cecil sighed loudly in defeat.

"Fine. We're going to see my brother". Remy looked content.

"And we're going to see a waterfall".

"I hate you," Cecil said, but he kissed the top of Remy's head before pulling himself away from him. Remy made a soft noise of disagreement and grabbed Cecil's shirt, pulling him back to his side.

"Love me".

"I do, pumpkin, but I should go talk to my parents for a bit... unless you want to come with me," Cecil said and Remy stepped away from him quickly and Cecil chuckled.

His parents and Remy had interacted a handful of times over the past year, and it had gone just about as planned with his parents desperately wanting biological grandchildren from at least one of their children.

"Atticus, prepare yourself," Cecil said, sliding his arms back around Remy's waist. "I'm going to kiss him".

"Ewww".

"I think we're scandalizing him," Cecil said under his breath.

When their mouths met, both of them were laughing.

Cecil knew in that moment that no matter what his mother said, or no matter what happened in the future, none of it was important, as long as he could still manage to make Remy laugh.

A/N While this is finally finished, and it's a bit of a mess, this  isn't the last that will be seen of these two if my plans work out.

I think I should start calling MRL, YCC, and TFILWAM my 'angry boy' series. Between Henry, Oz, and Remy I've had so much fun.

ALSO, Just Incase you're wondering, Cecil has a brief appearance in Of Lies and Lips, and Remy shows up in You Can't Choose once
