She never knew her parents, being one of the many last among her kind. She took great caution in her safety, choosing not to socialize with others.

Disguising herself as a human she lived among people, yet the villagers knew she was a demon because of her cat ears. In her true form they were longer as she was a rabbit demon. Not a cat. They were just shorter for an unknown reason.

Every night in her hut she performed a ritual to contact the dead. Holding a mirror on her lap her skin changed to fur, her ears extended and her nose shortened.

She spoke fluently and very uptight, "spirits I call to thee, grant me your powers of protection, spells of safety and allow me to write my own destiny."

Unnatural sounds whispered in her ears. She opened her (e/c) irises and was met with an unfamiliar figure standing before her.

Raven hair flowing down to his shoulders. Black talons where fingernails usually were. Big, feathery wings arching from his shoulder blades. A scaly tail swishing back and forth, a smile with two long fangs and those clear, blue pupils.

"What have you summoned me for?"

Akemi was not intimated by this man, "I have asked of you to extend me the safety of my people."

He nodded. "That I can give you but you know it comes with a price?"

She also nodded.

"What is your name?"

"Akemi, and yours?"

"Jin."

She held out her palm, "is the price my soul or blood?"

He shook his head, "no it's only my heart. You made a blind contract to be my servant when you summoned me."

She scowled, " I'll not be forced to do your bidding. You are Jin a half-demon. Father a dragon and mother a human. I know of what you instill upon your subjects. That I will not partake in!"

She blew out all the candles and smashed the mirror. His face remained in the shattered shards.

"You are to be mine!" His detached voice whispered all around.

"I end thy deal."

Akemi cleaned all the broken pieces and tossed them into the fire. Not realising she had once again summoned him.

The sun rose signifying morning was here at last. Everyone got to there usual chores. Akemi pitched in her strength helping a great much.

"I'm so glad you decided to live here Akemi." Her friend said. Henry.

His chocolate eyes welcomed her with a wonderful warmth. "I'm glad I met you Henry."

Her voice sent him on cloud nine. The human male had fallen for the rabbit.

She heaved another load of logs onto the ever growing stack of firewood. Just as she was about to cut down a few more trees. She noticed birds flying from their perches not too far away.

Living with the humans here she would do anything to protect them. So treading silently she investigated what was running amuck in the woods.

More birds left their perches, even the brave mockingjays that were hardly scared by anything.

"I fear the worst if even the Jays are fleeing."

Akemi found the source as 20 more birds flew by. She crouched behind a tree. A man. A demon.

Beautiful sliver locks, pointy ears and two elongated fangs. There were markings on his face.

His mellow voice made her blood freeze. "I know your there, show yourself." Akemi came from hiding her place.

He turned and only then did she notice the enticing, gold eyes of his. "Why have you approached me so bodly?"

Akemi cleared her throat, "I simply followed the birds when they are scared I take it as a warning."

He didn't smike like many cocky men do. "I smell humans up ahead."

Akemi' s ears stood straight on her scalp. "I would ask that you leave them alone and not kill them."

He raised a brow, "do you not know who I am?"

She shook her head, "I care not for titles."

Her voice a little more shaky this time she said, "please don't hurt them they're like family."

He huffed, "you think I'll show mercy because a bunny asked me?"

Akemi shifted into her true form, "if not I'll fight you." Her fingers clenched into fists.

"You aren't serious?"

"I am."

He turned away from the village and slowly began to walk. "I don't want the blood of a demon of the last of its kind on my hands."

He disappeared into the shadows.

Akemi unclenched her fists, she laughed nervously. Then fainted.

Scruffy, black hair obscured her vision. "Henry?"

"The one and only." He said with a grin.

"What happened?"

He gave her a leaf that held clean water. "I found you in the woods uncocnsious well the birds led me to you."

"They're a smart bunch."

He chuckled, "they love you because you feed them everyday."

"I suppose so."

"I do too you know..."

Akemi rubbed her temple and grabbed some bread to eat. "What do you mean, you too?"

He sucked in a breath, "I love you."

Akemi choked on the small piece of bread that was halfway down her esophagus. "Why?"

He took her hands in his, "you've always been the beckon of light in my life."

Her ears twitched unknowingly, "well may I be given some time to reflect on your confession?"

"Yeah. It works out because I'm going on a 2wk trip."

"How come?"

"The fish we usually hunt have moved upriver and it takes 2wks to trek that far."

She munched down on the rest of her bread. "Make sure to be safe."

He nodded.

Akemi spent the rest of the day working in the field. By the end of it she collapsed into bed.

And her first and very last thought of the night was the cold man.

By morning Henry was gone, how did he expect her to answer when she held nothing but platonic feelings for him?

She threw off the cover of the futon and started another days work. But with something very different.

An elderly lady asked Akemi to go into the forest and pick some blackberries so she could make jam. In return she'd get a jar of it herself.

Though the berries were very deep into the forest. She managed to find a bucket load thanks to her natural scavenging skills.

Her large ears picked up the loud explosion of electricity. Curiosity got the better of her and she snuffed out the area.

Her eyes widened in shock, there lie the demon from yesterday. She hurried over and put her ear to his chest.

No heartbeat.

She began to perform CPR a skill only her kind seemed to know. A minute passed and no response.

She continued, after 5mins she was ready to give up. Until his lids shot open and he took in a big gasp of air.

His golden irises slid to her, he immdiealty jolted up. She stepped back cautiously. "What did you do?"

Akemi scoffed, "nothing expect save your life!"

He said nothing his ragged breathing the only thing filling the silence. Akemi cleared her throat, "So how did you almost die anyway?"

He jerked his head to the invisible barrier that shimmered softly. The barrier was undetectable by sight or smell.

Akemi focused her attention on him, "I'll be going now."

"Wait." His calm tone sent shivers  through her spine. She didn't know why.

"Yes?"

He growled out, "I'm indebted to you."

Akemi rolled her eyes and flicked her (h/c) hair. "No you aren't so go."

She trudged forwards, he followed her. She looked back to see him doing so.

"Did I not tell you to leave or are you deaf!"

He growled, "don't raise your voice at me! I'm indebted to you so until that debt is paid I'm sticking around."

Akemi let loose a long drawn sigh.

The cold man asked her, "what is your name?"

"Akemi, yours?"

"Sesshomaru."

She smiled at him as a response when they got back to the village Akemi handed the elderly lady the berries. Sesshomaru scoffed, "I don't know how you can associate with such lowlife."

Akemi jabbed his side he growled, "don't touch me."

"Then don't call them lowlives, every species holds an important role of this world."

The demon ignored her words, "I hate them."

"You might one day change your mind."

>>>>>>>>>>

The villagers were wary of Sesshomaru and therefore also Akemi. She often encouraged him to be on his way. But he refused and always said not until he paid his debt.

So the 1st week went by.

Week 1, day 3- He helped with the firewood and collected more than anyone had.

Akemi wiped her brow, "don't you think helping around the village should be paid enough?"

"Not even close."

She sighed.

Week 1, day 4- Akemi hung decorative lights around the huts. "What are you doing?" He asked.

"Hanging up these lights for one of my friends birthdays."

He cocked his head intrigued, "you really celebrate these pointless events?"

She puffed her cheeks at him and punched his shoulder lightly. "They are only pointless if you have no one you care about." She tried jumping to throw it over the roof.

Sesshomaru watched her, "I guess it isn't pointless then."

Akemi laughed, "what you have someone you care about?" She tried again to throw them over.

He couldn't watch her struggle any longer he grabbed her just under her knees and lifted. "Uh!"

"Strangely enough I do."

She wondered who he could possibly care for? She managed to get the remaining lights over the roof.

She clapped happily, "yay!"

Her ears picked up a snort, she squinted her eyes at him. "What's so funny?"

"You."

She dug her heel into his hip which caused him no pain at all. "Rude."

Week 1 day 5- now eveyone was preparing for the big festival coming up. Under the harvest moon they'd drink all the wine they collected over the years and dance around a bonfire.

Balloons and costumes being made each one unique in its design.

Sesshomaru watched bored, "humans get happy over such small things."

"It's what makes life nice."

He took a glance over to her, his heart skipped a beat at her precious smile.

Week 1 night 6- The Harvest festival was upon them peoole already reeked of alcohol as Sesshomaru covered his nose with his sleeve.

"Such a disgusting smell! How do they drink this?"

Akemi giggled, she didn't see his cheeks dust pink. He hated how he acted like a fool around her.

"I can't drink it myself I get waay too sick, what I do partake in is the dancing when the music plays. Usually I dance with Henry."

"Henry? Who is he?"

She ignored his intimidating form as he towered over her. "He's my friend."

"Oh."

"Who confessed to me."

Sesshomaru chewed his lip, "why not dance with me then so you don't miss out?"

Akemi blinked rather surprised, "how sweet of you I'd love that."

She intertwined her fingers with his and began dancing. The bonfire illuminating their faces in the dark.

She rested her head on his shoulder and he rested his cheek on the top of he head.

The music carrying them away to a blissful state.

Week 1 day 7- Akemi woke up stretching her arms. Cracking each joint. "How late did I go to bed?"

She heard soft moaning and looked down. Sesshomaru was lying beside her with his arm around her waist.

A blush dusted her cheeks.

She scrambled out the door quickly, waking him up in the process. He stared as he saw her greet the townsfolk awkwardly he laughed at her stupidity.

"Maybe now she'll realise it's her I care about." He found it easy to admit the feelings welling up inside him it wasn't hard. Maybe she needed more time.

Sesshomaru wasn't the dense type.

Week 2 day 1 & 2- Akemi made those pass quickly by avoiding him.

Week 2 day 3- Akemi went to gather more berries for the elderly lady in exchange for the jam. Sesshomaru unbeknowing to her. Stalked her quietly.

She ventured even further than she had before into the woods. She found another jackpot and began plucking them from the stems. What she didn't notice was the large cat getting ready to pounce on her.

She only heard the snarl of it she didn't react in time. Luckily he did.

He stopped in and tackled her to the ground. The big cat missing by inches.

She lay on the grass hair sprawled underneath her as he embraced her.
"Thank you."

"No worries."

"I guess your debt is paid."

"I guess it is."

They stared at one another for a couple of seconds and then locked lips. Kissing in a passionate display of love.

She broke it to say, "are we really doing this?"

"Yes."

He connected their lips back together, tossing about as he kissed more of her skin. Reaching her neck a leaving a few hickeys which earned a few moans from her.

Week 2 day 4,5,6,7- Went by in a flash but each day was filled with the utmost love between the two.
(Mostly because I'm too lazy to write the rest out 😅)

Sesshomaru agreed he would stay and live in the village with her. Finally it was the day Henry came home.

All of them kissed and hugged their loved ones. Henry only hugged Akemi.

"So what's your answer?" He sounded hopeful. Akemi rubbed his forearms.

"I'm sorry Henry I don't feel that way about you."

Henry's face fell, "I...had a feeling you didn't."

"I'm sorry we can still be friends can't we?"

He braved through and put on a smile for her, "of course!"

Then Sesshomaru's voice cut the tension as he swung his arm around Akemi's waist and held her close.

Thats when Henry noticed the love bites. "Who's this Akemi?"

"My lover."

Henry looked to the demon holding his crush, "greetings human."

His expression turned to anger, "so the two weeks I'm away and I ask you to consider my feelings you fall in love?!"

Akemi did her best to calm him down, "I'm sorry it just kinda've happened and even if it didn't my answer would have still been the same!"

Henry dropped all his gear, "I can't believe this...I don't want to be here if he's here." Henry picked up his stuff and left.

Akemi called out to him, "Henry! HENRY!"

Sesshomaru pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Leave him if can't accept rejection he isn't worth having as a friend."

"I guess your right."

(Time skip to a year later)

Their relationship was running smoothly. Akemi had lovingly given her virginity to Sesshomaru. They had their future out but a certain obstacle would do anything to see that fall apart.

Akemi had been doing some gardening outside their home. When she heard the voice she thought she had rid herself of.

"I see you have found a lover too bad it won't last."

She screamed when he materialized in front of her. "How is this possible I destroyed the ritual and your just a spirit?!"

He cackled and clicked his talons together, "I've been collecting souls of the dead to gain a physical body. You stupidly threw the shards in a fire and re-summoned me."

She looked around for Sesshomaru but he was nowhere to be found. "What do you want me for anyway?!"

He grinned devilishly, "you being a rabbit demon can have litters of up to 20 kids. I need that body of yours to bear me children to continue my reign."

"As if I'd agree to something so sinful!"

"It's either that or you die."

Akemi felt like crying, "SESSHOMARU!"

"He won't be coming he's too far away to hear yo-aha!"

She watched as a clawed hand ripped through his abdomen. And exited back out leaving a hole.

Jin fell to the ground, Sesshomaru dashed to Akemi throwing her over his shoulder.

"Explain!"

So she did.

After the situation was cleared up they hid for a short while until Jin found them.

Akemi panicked fearing she would die, "Sesshomaru what do we do?!"

He cupped her face in his hands, "I want you to run while I fight him off maybe if you get a head start you'll survive."

"But-but-"

"But nothing! Go!"

She was about to run but Jin had already crashed through the building. "Akemi run!"

She started to sprint, Sesshomaru deflected all his hits but one. The one headed straight for his lover.

"AKEMI!"

She turned to the sound of his voice only to be met with a dagger in her heart. It didn't end there the dagger held a spell that caused her body to disintegrate.

"Sesshomaru help m-"

All that was left of her was ashes.

Sesshomaru cried out, "NOOOO!"

Jin thinking he was distracted sent a spell towards him. But Sesshomaru turned in time to swing his sword as his own sealing spell rebounded and hit him instead.

"No! You'll never be able to bring her back to life no matter what you do! Thats the price for her breaching the deal, no matter what life she takes it will last forever! I'll makw yiu watch her die again and again!"

He watched as he saw Jin's body be sealed in the nearest lake.

He fell to his knees, devastated by the whole things. Countless tears spilled that night.

>>>>>>>>

Sesshomaru woke up from the nightmare in a cold sweat. cupping his face in his hands with a large sigh. (Y/n) stared at him a little concerned, his hair was messy and his breathing came in big gulps of air.

(Y/n) went against her anger and approached him. "Sesshomaru? What's wrong?" His gold pupils found her (e/c) ones. He only looked at her with anger.
