"Aybige, stay here and take care of children and Kalika you will go with me. I want to go to hammam." I said.

Kalika followed me and I had huge trust in both her and Aybige. I couldn’t feel safe if one of them is not with me or with my children.

Kalika putted warm water and soap in bath which Ahmed gave to me. It wasn't usual in Hammams, but it was usual in Venice where I was from.

I layed down in a bath and at that moment I could feel the most relaxed. Nothing could relax me like a warm bath.

I heard doors of hammam are opening but I didn't mind it as I was sure Kalika entered.

" Is everything fine, Kalika?" I asked her while I enjoyed the bath.

" Everything will be fine when I get rid of you." I saw Gulcicek coming closer to me.

She took my hand and putted it in water by force trying to make me stay without air.

" You will pay for stealing me my night with Sultan." Gulcicek said to me while I was fighting with all forces to come to the air.

I couldn't breath underwater and she was doing whatever was needed to kill me. I could get to the air only for few seconds and I yelled for help, but no one was coming.

In front of my eyes I saw my death is coming. I was losing so much breath that I felt I could die at any moment.

At that moment Gulcicek left me and I could catch air when I saw Ahmed came inside.

" Mahnaz!" Ahmed yelled and ran towards me. He took a towel and wrapped it around me and took me to his chambers.

I was so weak that I could barely breath on air. Ahmed putted me to lay down on his bed and called the nurses to check up on me.

" Mahnaz, how do you feel now?" Ahmed asked me when I regained consciousness.

It was still hard for me to breathe how much I swallowed the water and how scared I was that I was coming to an end.

" I am afraid Ahmed, they wanted to kill me. I will live in fear now." I said and Ahmed came closer to kiss my forehead and hug me softly.

" Gulcicek will be punished for this. I sent her to Old Palace." Ahmed said making me feel a bit better, because this was excatly what she deserved.

" I don't know how someone would dare to do this. I had a lot of trust in Gulcicek. Poor girl was obviously jealous she couldn’t enter your heart my lion." Handan said and looked at both of us. Ahmed turned to her and looked at her seriously.

" You will go to Old Palace, Valide. After everything that happened you won't be here." Ahmed said coldly not showing any emotions towards Handan.

Three days have passed and it was the time that Handan should leave to the Old Palace. We were all in Harem waiting for that to happen.

" Attention! Her Imperial Majesty Valide Safiye Sultan!" ennuch on the doors yelled so everyone could bow to Safiye which was new ruler of Harem.

She walked proudly through the Harem enjoying her victory. She defeated Handan as soon as she returned to the Palace and regained her power. She stood in front of Mahfiruz and me and smiled at us.

"Mahnaz, it's obvious there's something special about Venetian blood. You deserve my respect." Safiye said with a smile. I saw on her that she appreciated me for my actions, because she could certainly already know that I had my fingers in it.

Mahfiruz looked at me and Safiye in confusion.

"We are glad you have come, Sultana. I believe the Harem will now be in good hands." Mahfiruz said, but Safiye didn't even care about it. She kept walking towards the Sultan's chambers, and I followed her because Ahmed told me that when she came I should come too.

We entered Ahmed's chambers and he greeted his grandmother Safiye with a smile. Although she had acted against him many times, he knew that the Harem was in good hands with her.

"Sultana, welcome. I entrust you to the Harem. I believe you will be able to put it in order." Ahmed said and kissed Safiye's hand.

"I've heard of an incident made by Handan's maid to your favourite Mahnaz, unfornatley. I can't believe she did it. I wouldn't be surprised if Handan had his fingers in it." said Safiye, whose plan was to make Handan's fate worse.

At that moment, someone knocked on the door. Haci Aga rushed inside, looking nervous and scared.

"Hunkarim, Handan Sultana drank poison. She died." Haci said anxiously and couldn't come to his senses.

Ahmed started running towards Handan's chambers and I followed him. On the floor we saw the lifeless body of Handan Sultan. Ahmed approached and took his mother in his arms.

I felt guilty because I knew I had contributed to this too, but she was not doomed to do this. Instead of going to the Old Palace and waiting for her son's forgiveness, she took her own life. She left her son alone in this world, without parents.

I saw a letter on her desk, which I immediately picked up. I had to know what was written because I was afraid of what would happen if I was on the mentioned.

My dear son, while you are reading this, I am no longer with you. All my life I've fought with everyone just for you. I fought to ensure you a good life. If it weren't for Dervis Pasha and me, you certainly wouldn't be where you are now. You killed the one who helped you get to the throne the most, and now I'm killing myself because you deprived me of your love and killed the only man I loved, Dervis. Although it was forbidden, I could not suppress my feelings.

In shock, I read the letter and forwarded it to Ahmed who could not believe what was written inside.
