Nikolai's pov
This is how I want to wake up for the rest of my life is my first thought waking up.
I woke up to the feeling of her in my arms. Her head is in the crook of my neck and her legs are tangled with mine. Her arm was around my waist. I can feel her soft breath hitting my chest making me shudder.
I slowly tucked her hair away from her face to see her pretty face and I let out a laugh at the sight. Her mouth is slightly open and drool is running down her lips and on my chest and soft snores can be heard from her.
She looks adorable.
I traced the almost faded scar on the back of her neck. Her scars are so beautiful. The story behind them awful.
I leaned my head, kissing the top of her head before leaving light kisses along her forehead and eyelids and she lets out a precious giggle and my heart warms. Running my fingers through her hair, I gently tried to wake her up only for her to snuggle into me more.
"Baby wake up" I whispered in her ear softly
"No" she whined causing me to laugh
"It's almost noon love. You have slept enough" But she ignores me going back to sleep
"Wake up or I will have to resort to extreme measures" I warned her but like the brat she is, she just stuck her tongue out at me
"Okay then"
I gently pried her away from me, setting her beside me and straddling her before my hands went under her shirt stopping at her sides and I started tickling her. I ran my nose against her neck and soon her melodious laughter filled the room. She was always so ticklish on the sides and her neck when she was younger. She squirmed trying to get away only to fail.
"Stop Nico" she exclaimed in between her laughs. Her laugh is infectious. It immediately draws a grin to my face.
I finally stopped when tears started to stream down her face and her breaths started coming short. Smiles still remaining on our faces
"Come on get ready. I am taking you shopping" I told her
"But you said it wasn't safe?"
"I already made all the security arrangements so it's alright" I explained before I walked to the living room and picked up the bag I had my assistant bring in
"Here. I had my assistant bring some clothes and undergarments for you"
She opened the bag only to pull out black lace lingerie only to put it back with a red face causing me to chuckle.
"You told your assistant to bring me this?" she asked with an expression of horror on her face
'I just told her to bring an outfit and undergarments. She chose it herself" I said raising my hands in surrender
"But I do like it. Should I give her a raise?" I said with a smirk on my face
"Shut up!" she said running to the bathroom and closing the door behind her
....
"How do I look?" She asked for the 100th time
"Gorgeous" I answered for the 100th time
"Nico. You have been saying this for every outfit" she snapped looking at me accusingly
"But you look gorgeous in everything" I said honestly
"But we can't buy everything. We have to choose" she said as if I were a child
"We can" I told her back
She has been having these mood swings today and they are honestly adorable. I am enjoying them, she is not.
"Let's just buy all of them" I said following after her
"No. I don't need these many clothes" she said sternly as if daring me to say anything
I stayed silent after that Thinking it would be better to shut up before the angry kitten pounced
She continues to choose between clothes with me genuinely helping this time giving her my input from time to time.
One of the workers takes them to the bill. Just when Astrea is about to pay I forwarded my credit card stealing hers away.
"Nico no" Astrea said trying to take her credit card from me back
"Shh baby. I had 9 years of spoiling to make up to" I asserted
"But that's too much"
"Nothing is too much when it comes to you," I told her leaving no space for arguing
We paid for our clothes and went to a few other stores before we came in front of this one.
"Let's go to that store," I said pointing towards victoria's secret store in front of us causing her expression to turn horrifyed before she shakes her head violently.
"Unless you want to go commando for the next few days," I said with a smirk on my face
As I am dragging her to the store, my phone rings causing me to scowl
I pulled my phone out just for it to be Ronan. I picked up the phone
"This better be important for you to disturb my alone time with my girlfriend" I said in an irritated voice
"Boss we have the footage of those who trashed her apartment" he said
"I will be there in 15," I said hanging up
"We will have to cut the trip short," I said watching as a relieved smile pull on her lips which quickly vanished when I added teasingly " I will ask Mila, my assistant to buy you lingerie"
....
"Where are we going," she asks as I drive toward the warehouse
"To the warehouse" I answered
"Why?"
"We found the footage of those people sneaking into your apartment." I answered placing one of my hands on her thigh rubbing circles on it
"Oh," she said
I parked the car in the garage and got out before opening the door for her.
Entering my thumb print in my office door, I entered
"Stay here love. I will be back in a moment. I will send Mila to accompany you till then" I told her kissing her forehead before leaving for the tech room
"Pavel" I greeted entering the room
"Boss " he greeted nodding back as he pulled up the footage
I saw as four men sneaking into the apartment building with a duplicate key. All their faces are covered with masks. I saw as one of them damped a cloth with what looked like anaesthesia indicating they had appeared there to kidnap her. it was Saturday yesterday but I just wanted to see her due to which I had her called even though it was a weekend and I am fucking grateful.
"Zoom in there," I said when I saw the edge of a tattoo peeking out from under one of their clothes.
Pavel zoomed in and my blood boils when I saw the french mafia tatoo
"He is using her against you again" Ronan said from behind me. My blood boils at the thought of him
But I won't let anything happen to her this time. I am strong enough to protect her now.
