Blaire's P.O.V

When I got back home all plans of curling up on the couch reading a book were out the window because I couldn't stop thinking about what Mr. Gigantor said. The only thing that's putting me off from taking him up on his offer is what happened in my past. My last boyfriend started out great but in time started to beat me. When I finally got the courage to dump him, he didn't take it so well.

He started to stalk me. He showed up at my work all the time, I would find him staring into my bedroom window from the backyard. I got a restraining order against him but that didn't do anything. It got to the point he murdered my family. So ya, I'd say that's a reasonable excuse to be cautious about this.

Looking up from the book I totally did not read I look out the window to see its dark outside. Turning my head towards the clock on my wall I see it's 11:30 at night. Great I missed dinner. Getting up I make my way towards my bedroom and get ready for bed. Once I did that I crawled into bed and if I said dreamless sleep I would be lying.

The next morning I woke up to my blaring alarm. Slamming my hand down on my alarm with a groan, I get up from my very comfy bed. Going into my closet I pull on my uniform. Putting my coat on, I grab my keys and my bag before heading to the diner. It takes about ten minutes by foot to get to the diner from my apartment.

Walking through the door of the diner, I make my way to the back and put my coat and bag into my little locker. Closing it shut, I grab my notepad and pen and walk out. Today I sadly didn't have the counter. As I walk to my section, my feet immediately stop when I see Mr. Gigantor, in all his suit glory in my section.

Mustering up all the courage I had left, I walked over to his table. "Hi, what can I get you this morning?" I asked hoping he wouldn't bring up yesterday. "I'll have the pancakes with extra bacon and sausage with orange juice beautiful." Before he could see my blush, I quickly nodded and headed behind the counter and put his order on the order wheel.

Grabbing a cup, I filled it with orange juice and walked back over to him and set it down in front of him. I was about to go to a different table when I felt a pull on my wrist. Looking down I see a big hand wrapped around my wrist. Moving my eyes from the hand up the arm I am met with his face. "Hold on beautiful." Turning around completely so I face facing him he continued. "So have you thought about it?" And just when I thought I was in the clear he asked the question I so hoped he wouldn't.

"I...uh" I stuttered out trying to buy some time to think of what I'm going to say. I really wanted to say no because I so didn't want a repeat boyfriend but when I look in his eyes all that is going on in my head is 'go out with him' being chanted over and over again. Knowing the 'go out with him" chant wasn't going to go away I decided on my answer.

"Maybe doing something together wouldn't be so bad." I told him and his eyes seemed to light up at that. "But you said I could decide what we do so how about a lunch picnic in Hyde Park?" I have always loved parks, well nature to begin with and plus if he tried anything we'd be in public and it would be daylight.

"A picnic in the park with the most beautiful girl in the world sounds perfect. I'll take care everything else." He said once again making me blush. "Tomorrow is my day off, is that alright?" I asked trying to hide my blush.

Nodding his head he said, "It's perfect. How about we meet here and walk from here?" A little part of me was relieved because he didn't ask to pick me up from my apartment. Agreeing to meeting him here tomorrow at 11:45am, I went back to work and I surprisingly had a smile on my face as I worked. Deep down I couldn't help the feeling that this would be different, that he wouldn't be like my last boyfriend.
