“I bet I’d have gotten an STD if that stinky old man’s wife hadn’t called him up. Still got the money, though!” Ae Ra pursed her lips.

“I wonder how much longer…” Soojin sighed, “How long do I have to pretend that I like it?”

Ae Ra looked at her empathetically, “I know, it’s hard to live a life like this. But we’ll make it through, alright?”

Soojin cracked a small smile, “I trust you.”

“You gotta trust yourself too!” Ae Ra was, as always, optimistic, “And cheer up! Your bias is live right now.”

“Chan’s live?” Soojin raised her eyebrows. Ae Ra grabbed their shared laptop and turned it on, and right before them appeared Bang Chan, the person who gave Soojin hope and comfort every time she looked at him.

It was a very delusional thought, she noted, how she hadn't even met him once but already cared for him so much. She had always admired him, and drawn inspiration from his thoughtful words and actions. His voice was like a comforting lullaby to her, and she could call him her "safe place" pretty effortlessly.

"He's looking so cute!" Ae Ra squealed, and Soojin giggled, saying, "He's always cute."

"Simp," Ae Ra joked.

"Please! I'd be the happiest if I ever got the chance to meet him!"

Next evening, things were back to square one.

Forgetting their dignity and self-respect, the girls had to act as escorts and pretend to like whatever the sick men wanted to do to them.

Caked up faces and micro-mini skirts were what they had to wear to impress these men and fulfill their darkest, sickest desires.

Soojin, as always, was the last to exit her room, since she wanted to avoid the evenings as much as possible. She dreaded the evenings. Has been dreading it for years. And it wasn't until their manager sternly called for her that she came out of her chamber, speedily walking into the bar's hall to just get done with the night's routine.

And looking around, she found the same stranger she had encountered the previous night. The same intense eyes staring at her, devouring her up and down.

The mask still wasn't off his face, but those eyes were enough to make anyone submit to him.

If only he wasn't a visitor in this bar — Soojin thought to herself, and he motioned her to come to him with two fingers, and she obeyed; because what choice did she even have?

Swaying her hips side to side, she sensually walked over to him, and with a forced smirk, she sat down beside him and spoke, "Hey. Back for more?"

The man spread his legs and patted on his thigh, motioning her to sit on it.

Soojin followed wordlessly, and as soon as she did, the man's hand crawled up her neck, and rubbed the side of her neck, almost as a reassuring act, but she knew better.

He spoke huskily, "You look nervous, babygirl. Did I scare you?"

"Babygirl?" she chuckled, "We're keeping nicknames now?"

"Only me, babygirl," his gentle hands underwent a transformation, as his fingers slowly wrapped around her neck, "I'm the only one allowed to do that here."

"A-As you say," there was some kind of command underlining his voice that she couldn't help but obey. His voice felt a tad familiar, if she stressed over it, but at the moment, she was too intimidated by his hand on her neck; his thumb rubbed circles on her neck, and as she gulped, his grip tightened.

"Please me, and I'll pay you more."
