Edward's POV

"I love you" she finished her sentence and those three words which I have been dying to hear from her had my heart beating at an unusual rate.

"I love you too" I replied after coming out of my surprised state while hugging her more tightly "I love you so much" I added and we stayed in that position for few minutes, I just want to hold on this moment and never let it go.

"I want to stop this moment right here" she whispered exactly what I was thinking while placing her head on my chest "Because I don't know if I'll get to be in your arms like this ever again" she added and I frowned in confusion, why is she talking like this.

"What do you mean by that" I asked finally pulling back from the hug.

"Edward I...we can't be together" she replied in a low voice with a defeated sigh avoiding looking in my eyes.

"Why" It was all I managed to ask because the happiness that I was feeling few minutes back was now gone far away from me and I don't understand what to feel about this situation anymore.

"I just want to see you happy...I can't see you getting hurt it'll pain me more then you" she replied.

"You are my happiness, my peace so of course I'll be happy, why do you think I won't be happy with you" I asked softly cupping her cheek.

"You know what happened to Ava right, I can't see it happening again" she replied bringing my hand which was cupping her cheek to her lips and placed a light kiss on it.

"My dad won't approve our relationship I know now you must be thinking that I left my family long back and they are not in my life anymore but one day or the other he'll get to know about us and if he can get his future daughter in law killed then I don't know how he would react after knowing about us, I don't want him to do something terrible in his anger" she explained and I was just quietly listening to her.

"I know how he is, his reputation, his rules and all that stupid caste thing are his first priority" she added then paused looking at me.

"And most of all I don't want to hurt him anymore because I know I hurt him by running away years back...whatever he has done but still he is my father after all, I know I couldn't be his perfect daughter he wished for but not again I can't hurt him again by going against his wishes...I can't, I really love you more then myself but I love my dad too no matter what happened in the past" she continued and broke down in tears at the end and I just stared at her.

"I don't want to give him anymore reasons to hate me" she whispered.

"Ashima he doesn't hate you at all" I replied wiping her tears and lead her towards the couch and we sat on it.

"How can you be so sure" she asked glancing at me with questions in her eyes.

"Because I met him and I saw it in his eyes when he saw your picture, I can tell he really misses you" I replied.

"How...when did you meet him" she asked surprised.

"I signed a deal with his company so I met him in a meeting" I replied with a shrug.

"Did he say anything" she asked with hope and I shook my head in a no.

"And I'm tired of trying to explain this to you that maybe your dad was really not behind Ava's death, just give him a chance to explain himself atleast" I said.

"But..." she tried to speak but I interrupted her by crashing my lips on hers as she was taken aback and her eyes widen in surprise but however she kissed me back slowly after few seconds, I chuckled in my head as I found only this idea to shut her down well I must say this was a great idea though...God she talks so much, I thought to myself.

"Shut up now and listen to me carefully I won't let you go again no matter what the reason is or who comes in between us" I said a little breathless breaking the kiss, stressing on us making sure she gets my message that I have no intention to let her go, not after knowing that she loves me too.

"My life is so messed up" she replied with a defeated sigh.

"Don't worry I'm with you always and about Ava's death I promise to you that I'll do anything in my power to find out the real culprit because only then you'll be able to realize that it was not your dad after all, then you'll get your dad back and only then you'll be fully happy" I said.

"I promise to unite your family back again" I added and she suddenly hugged me out of nowhere and now it was my turn to be surprised.

"We'll do this together, we'll get through everything as long as we are together" I whispered caressing her hair while hugging her back.

"Why do you love me so much when I'm not even able to love myself" she asked.

"Well I can't reason it" I replied with a chuckle and we stayed like that for few more minutes before going to bed, I asked Ashima to stay here tonight because it's quite late and raining heavily outside and she agreed but not before arguing on it like she always does and I was just amused to see this, it has became her habit I guess.

We kept talking till midnight about random things and about ourselves before she drifted off to sleep on my bed still hugging me as I held her close to me and kept gazing at her beautiful face.

Whatever happens now I won't let you go Ashima, this was the last thing in my head before I finally fell asleep.
