Edward's POV

After talking to Mack I decided to go back to Ashima and was about to enter the elevator when my assistant Brenda's voice stopped me.

"Sir you have an important meeting to attend" she called out from behind.

"Cancel it and arrange it for tomorrow" I replied turning around.

"But sir we are canceling this meeting since two days I'm afraid we'll lose this deal if we cancel this meeting again" she explained and her words made me think and I nodded my head in agreement.

It will end soon and then you can go back to Ashima just few minutes more, I tried to convince myself while sitting in this boring meeting.

Soon after the meeting ended and the deal was finalized I thought to leave but again some important work stopped me from going and it was in evening when I was finally free and left the office and on the way to her place I bought some flowers for her, few orchids and roses I hope she'll like them.

I ringed the door bell twice standing before her apartment's door and soon it opened but not by Ashima but some boy whom I don't know, who's he and what's he doing here is he the one who gave Ashima blank calls is she in danger or is he her lover or something no he can't be, I snapped out of my thoughts hearing a female voice which I don't recognize.

"John who's at the door" the female voice asked, so this guy's name is John or whatever I don't care and without waiting for the guy to reply I stepped in only to see Ashima and a girl sitting on the sofa.

"Edward I didn't thought you would come" Ashima said surprised with my sudden entry.

"Now I think I shouldn't have come here as you already have people to take care of you" I replied sarcastically but she ignored my sarcasm.

"Oh sorry I forgot to introduce them this is my friend Kate and this is her boyfriend John and Kate this is Edward" she said pointing at the girl and then at the boy and I gave them a fake smile.

"Nice meeting you man" John said but I didn't reply instead just nodded my head. 

"It was nice meeting you Edward, Ashima we'll leave now you take care okay" Kate said hugging Ashima before they both left.

"You said you don't know anyone here" I asked sitting beside her.

"Yeah I didn't knew anyone here at first but when I started working I met Kate, she's a nice friend" she replied.

"And John is your friend too" I asked but regretted why am I being so investigating.

"No as we met today only, when Kate came to know about the accident she came to meet me and brought John along with her too" she explained and then gave me a questioning look while pointing at the flowers in my hand.

"Oh they are for you" I said quickly handing her the flowers.

"Thank you they are so beautiful, orchids and roses are my favorite" she replied with happiness.

"Uh can you help me to the balcony I'm tired of sitting at one place" she asked hesitantly after a while of silence.

"Of course" I replied placing my hand on her waist and holding her hand helping her to the balcony.

"It's so peaceful here" she said looking at the stars.

"Yes it is" I replied still supporting her to stand properly as I moved my face closer to her and she looked in my eyes. She's looking so beautiful in this moon light.

I don't know what got into me but I touched my lips with her, kissing her sweetly as she responded after a moment placing her hands around my neck.

"I love you" I whispered absentmindedly while pulling away placing my forehead against hers as we both are panting, I want to stop this moment right here I want her in my arms like this forever.

Suddenly she pushed me away lightly and looked at me with shocked expression and that is when I realized what I said oh god did I just say I love you to her no no no I don't love her.

Yes you do love her that's the reason you panicked when you saw her lying on the road covered with blood, that's the reason you don't like any other guy near her, that's the reason you care for her so much that you are even ready to leave your work just to see her once which is a very rear thing for the workaholic Edward Miller to do, everytime you see her smiling you feel like you can do anything to keep that smile on her lips and it's just because you have fallen in love with her deeply. I don't understand if this is not love then what it is, a small voice in my head spoke.

"Edward leave" Ashima said avoiding looking in my eyes. 

"But Ashima just listen to me..." I spoke but she interrupted me.

"Edward please don't make it more difficult for me, if you stay here any longer then things will get more complicated and awkward between us so it's better if you leave me alone, please go away" she said this time looking in my eyes as her own eyes became moist.

"Okay as you wish" I replied nodded my head before leaving without glancing back because I know once I did I won't be able to leave.

I don't know when did all this happened but if what I feel for her is called love then okay I love her I won't deny it anymore.

She wants me to go away from her but only if she knew that now it's too late to do that, now it's impossible to stay away from her, now I can't stop myself from loving her.

"I love you Ashima" I whispered with a sigh while placing my head on the stirring wheel before driving away, these words feel so new to me.
