"She just said yes, just like that", I retold our conversation in the car to Nolan as I laid on his chest, later that night.

"Well you said yes right away?", he said, which he was right about. The moment I got that phone call, I was ready to put him in jail.

"Yes but I had that emotional, crying session with you, but with Melody she didn't have that, she just said okay like it was nothing", I told him as he traced my bare stomach with his fingers.

"And guess who that sounds like?", he asked me, and I knew the answer to his sarcastic question.

"Very funny", I laughed at his impractical joke and he kissed my forehead.

"Well I'll call the lawyers tomorrow and let them know, then I'll check when his trial is", he said and I turned myself over and looked at his starry blue eyes.

"I am a very lucky girl", I said to him and he nodded his head and leaned into kiss me, passionately.

"Wait, wait I have to tell you something", I told him separating his lips from mine and he pulled me back down with him. I pulled away and smiled at his needy look.

"Right now, can't it wait?", he asked needy and I looked at him knowing he would be pissed after.

"Our girl has a date on Friday", I told him celebrating and he looked at me pissed as ever.

"She has a date with that Zeke kid", he said and he slipped out from under me and got up out of bed.

"Yes she does and we as sibling, and sibling husband should be happy for her", I told him and he rolled his eyes at me.

"I have this weird feeling about Zeke", he said from the closet as he changed into a tshirt and pants.

"I had a weird feeling about you, and look where we are now", I said abruptly as he climbed back in bed and gave me a confused look.

"Hey what weird feeling did you have about me?", he asked pestering, I switched off the lights and kissed his forehead.

"Goodnight Nolan", I told him and he kept pestering.

"I mean did you think I was a psycho, a sociopath-", he rambled on as I interrupted his words with a kiss, a simple kiss shut him up.

"I have to know", he begged me as I turned around from him and said goodnight to him yet again.

"Goodnight, I love you well I love you now anyways", I chuckled and closed my eyes as every now and then I would get a tap on the shoulder from Nolan.

"I figured out you thought I was obsessed with work", he said just as the sun rose and I looked over at him, seeing as it drove him crazy.

"It took you that long, huh?", I looked up at him and he yawned and looked down at me. He leaned in and kissed me as I toppled over him, his hands snaked down into my shirt.

"You have work", I looked over at the clock and he pulled me back down under the covers.

"You have work, too", he pulled away for me and rolled himself over in the bed.

"I promise we will get our time together, eventually", I told him as he got up out of bed and wrapped his arms around me.

"Soon it'll be my assistant calling your assistant to schedule alone time", he pushed me up against the wall and locked his lips with mine.

" I don't have an assistant, and I don't think I'll be getting one, anytime soon", I said and he hummed along my neck.

"If you really don't like it there, then why don't you just quit", he said acting like it was that easy.

"I can't just give up when I enter a work environment I don't like, I fix it to make it acceptable and adaptable, and besides every now and then I get to sneak in an article that means more to me than 'how to make your wife happy'", I leaned against him and he kissed my forehead.

"Well if your ever looking for some ideas, there's a long list of things that make me happy that you do", he said squaring me against the bed, as his lips dissolved in mine.

"Would you add this to your list", I kissed his neck and he moaned aloud.

"Yes I would, definitely", he groaned as I pushed him onto the bed, just to hear that torturous knock on the door.

"Mel, you okay sweetie?", I asked through the door, hoping it was nothing.

"Not Melody, sorry it's Clay", he said as I looked over at Nolan, wondering what his father could be doing at this time of hour.

"Melody was trying to leave this morning, I was coming up to check on the hotels and I saw her leaving, I came up to her asked her where she was going and she said school, it was 7 in the morning and so I sent her back upstairs", he blurted out as I swung open the door.

"She was running away?", I asked Clay and he nodded his head as I went towards her room. It was about last night, what I told her I should've known that it wasn't all easy yes for her, and escaping it all was a choice she had made before and so had I, but I didn't want her to leave. This is a place we would both be safe, we are safe.

"Mel", I knocked on the door, as I leaned my ear against the doorframe. All I could hear were sniffles, through the door.

"Go away", she cried out and I opened the door slowly.

"I don't want to talk, please just go", she begged of me, but I couldn't leave her here.

"I'm sorry, okay I shouldn't have done that", she apologized, and I couldn't blame her she had nothing to apologize for.

"Don't apologize, I'm not mad, Nolan isn't either, we just want to know what happened?", I asked her and she looked up at me.

"It's too much being here, I don't even believe it's true, I have a sister, a house, a family, friends, people I love and care about and I feel like seeing him again is going to make me lose everything", she said muffled against her pillow.

"If you don't want to see him, you will never see him again, I promise that. I can also promise that all the people who love you, are not going anywhere, we love you and we care about you so much, that I want to do what's best for you, and if you don't want to see him we will never see him again", I told her as she cried into my shoulder and I knew exactly what she felt. She had everything she had ever dreamed of and she was afraid of the man who had taken away her life before and she feared he would do it again.

"In my foster homes I found these really nice parents, they liked me and then the next day I was being ready to be shipped off to a new home, and in that home they didn't care and so one day someone picked me off of the street and I saw him, he would visit me and warn me, scare me, and hit me he promised me if I ran he would-", she whimpered into my shoulder, the words that scarred me to death.

"Always find me", I finished her sentence as she looked at me with fear.

"I think I need to see him, to push this away from my head to understand that when I see him he won't be able to take away everything I am", she said bravely, wiping the tears away from her eyes.

"Are you sure?", I asked her and she looked at me and nodded her head confidently.

"I need to do this, and I promise if I feel the slightest bit of doubt, I won't run", she promised me and I hoped it was true. I had spent a lifetime of running and we were safe here, protected and loved.

"I should not have tried to leave", she said shaking her head in disbelief.

"That's what I was thinking", I teased and she looked away.

"I'm really sorry", she said, as I reminded her again not to apologize for it.

"Why don't you change out of your many layers and we can watch some movies today, okay?", I asked her and she nodded. I went out of the room to find Nolan making breakfast and Clay sitting on the barstool.

"Clay, I can't thank you enough for finding her if you hadn't I wouldn't have known what to do", I thanked him sincerely.

"Don't thank me, she looked like she would've turned down after she made it down the street", he joked.

"I know you guys haven't parented anyone before, so I'll let you in on some insight, you guys need to ground her, if you had left as a kid I would've grounded you until you could move out", he told Nolan and I. I looked over at Nolan and I had a feeling this wasn't something that she should be punished for.

"It's not the same Pop, we put her up to something she wasn't ready for and it was our fault not hers", Nolan explained as his father listened.

"I guess you're right, I better get going, oh Alison wanted me to remind you Thursday we are having a rehearsal dinner for the rehearsal dinner for the rehearsal-, just be there Thursday at five", he said walking out and hugged Nolan and I. The elevator shut as Nolan and I looked at each other with a look of seriousness.

"Don't listen to my dad", he simply said, brushing off his dads tactics.

"He has no idea what he's talking about", Nolan scoffed as he finished up serving breakfast.

"You turned out good", I told him and he agreed to that.

"My father always wanted a more masculine man than I could be when I was younger, I was more of a nerd back in high school and he couldn't stand that, he was a good father but he wasn't the best role model", he said in despair and to wonder how Nolan's relationship with his father has changed so much to where they are now.

"I'm sorry", I placed my fingers over his shoulders and rubbed it softly as I kissed his cheek.

"We're better now, and besides I've always been closer to my mom", he told me as he turned around and his hands were placed around my waist.

"I was thinking you and Melody should have a day at the mall, get ready for her 'date'", he said annoyed indefinitely.

"Someone sounds like they've been missing out on a date themselves", I asked him and his eyes filled with intrigue.

"I have missed some alone time with you, how do you think we should remedy this?", he asked and I had an idea in my mind.

"I was thinking on Friday, would you like to go on a date with me", I asked him and he kissed my lips happily.

"Is that a yes?", I asked him as he nodded looking down at me. He grabbed his piece of toast and made his way to the elevator.

"I'll call your assistant and schedule a meeting with you, I love you", I told him and he put his toast in his mouth.

"I love you", he muffled through his toast and I said it back, watching him disappear behind the doors of the elevator. I wondered just how lucky I was walking towards Mel's room with butterflies in my stomach.

"Mel", I asked while knocking on the Hey door.

"Don't worry I'm here", she said opening the doors open to her dressed in her polka dot pajamas.

"I have to call in tell my boss I'm working from home, but Nolan had an idea that we should go get dolled up for your date on Friday", I asked her and a look of worry covered her face.

"Hey what's with the worry?", I asked her as she went back into her closet and I could hear her changing clothes.

"I've never been on a date before, with someone like him he's sophisticated and he's taking me to a restaurant", she told me and I knew her concern. I knew what she meant the lifestyle we both lived in, you never heard of a girl being taken to a fancy restaurant on a first date.

"I'll take you on a date, to a fancy restaurant and I'll walk you through it, get ready and wear something fancy ", I told her and she smiled thanking me.

Nolan's POV
The end of the day had come fast, and I had just wanted to go home and spend the rest of the day with my family.

From what I heard from Natalie, she and Melody had spent the day out a fancy restaurant, she taught her the proper ways of the rich. I was ready to leave out of the office as I went to go say bye to my assistant, something Caroline had taught me to do. I did miss her in the office, but I was glad we were still friends. I understood why Caroline left, there was no growth within the position.

"Oh Oh Mr. Clemente", my new assistant saw me before I could greet her goodbye.

"Yes Miss Anakin", I approached her desk as she smiled brightly.

"Your wife called and she made an appointment with you on Friday night", she said searching my face for an answer. I didn't believe Natalie would actually schedule an appointment with me, but I just laughed, shaking my head and told Miss Anakin goodnight.

hey guys it's been a while sorry if you don't like this chapter I had an idea about it then I fell asleep and I brushed it aside trying to remember but I have no school this week due to bad weather. So I will be writing a lot this week anyways stay safe, stay warm and keep voting and commenting.

also I have a game plan for the next chapters there may be only either 35 or 40+ chapters. I'm trying to finish this book up because this book can only reach a small audience of people who read my last  book, because I have a bunch of ideas for new books.
