I HAVE BEEN SITTING IN THIS POLICE STATION since Campbell was taken.

My mother tried to make me go home, but I wouldn't budge. I needed to be here in case they find her or find somewhere she might be.

What was worse than Campbell being taken was the Cades' reaction when I told them.

~Flashback~

"What happened?! Where's my baby?!" I heard Lisa say as she rounded the corner at the hospital.

I haven't told them what happened yet. All I told Nick was that something happened to Campbell, and they needed to meet me at the hospital.

"Is she okay, Brent?" Gavin asked me.

"What happened?" Gaberial also asked me.

"Hmm, Campbell...she's not here," I told them, trying to keep my breathing normal.

"What do you mean? Where is she, Brent?" Nick asked as my hands shook by my sides.

"She was kidnapped by Evie," I said, making them all freeze.

Then Mr. Cade said,"What?"

Lisa's eyes filled with tears, and she was breathing rapidly and short.

"Where is my baby, Brent? What happened?" Lisa cried, making Micheal wrap an arm around his mother.

And I told them exactly what happened. They all cried, including me.

Campbell was gone, and it was my fault.

~End of Flashback~

"Don't you have a home?" Luke asked me, bringing me out of my thoughts.

I looked up at him, and he handed me a coffee. I took it, and he sat down beside me on the bench.

"Campbell West Cade is my home," I replied before taking a sip of the coffee.

"Brent, we are working around the clock trying to find her. To bring her home," Luke replied, softly.

"It's been two days, Luke. She could be hurt or w-worst," I said as my voice broke at the end. I cleared my throat, trying to keep my emotions at bay.

"Don't think like that, Brent Mason. I have seen her file. She is a fighter, and she will survive this."

I licked my lips,"You know, if I didn't go upstairs, Evie wouldn't have taken her. She would be here with me now."

"Brent, even if you didn't go upstairs, Evie was going to get her. This isn't your fault."

I shook my head, not believing him. "You don't understand. Campbell-she is my whole world. She is my other piece, and if I lose her-.."

I blinked away the tears that were threatening to slip and I continued,"If I lose her, I will never be the same. I will never forgive myself."

"You two have been through a lot, huh?" Luke asked, making me nod.

A stray tear fell down my cheek, and I nodded. "Yeah. Multiple attacks, a breakup, a car accident, and memory loss."

"Brent, I know you love this girl, but if you don't take care of yourself, how are you going to be there for her? If Evie wanted her dead, she would be. She's keeping her alive for something. I just don't know what yet. Please go home, take a shower, and you can come back as soon as you are done, okay?"

I didn't do anything for a minute before nodding, and Luke said,"If anything comes up, I will let you know immediately."

"Okay," I replied.

"Your brother is here. I called him a few minutes ago," Luke said as Xavier's car parked beside the curb.

"Please find her, Luke," I begged him as I stood up from the bench.

"I will do everything I can to bring her back to you," he replied before I got into Xavier's car.

Riley was in the passenger seat so I sat in the back, not saying much.

"Do they any updates on where she's at?" Xavier asked once we drove away from the police station.

I shook my head no,"Nope."

"I'm sorry, Brent," Xavier apologized, switching on his blinker.

"We are going to pray and wish for the best," Riley added, softly.

And that was the end of that conversation. When we arrived home, I quickly went inside. I walked right past my parents and Vanessa and I went straight up to my room.

I shut my door behind me, and I slide against the door until I was on the ground. I brought my legs in, and I laid my head on my knees.

I was going to stay there for a while, not doing anything, but a picture got my attention. I stood up from the ground, and I grabbed the picture frame from my desk.

I ran my hands over it as I admired the picture. It was a picture of me and Campbell when her soccer team won a game. We were kissing, and I had my arm wrapped around her waist.

I had to be strong for her.

I put the picture back on the desk, and I grabbed a new outfit and my towel. I walked into the bathroom, and I turned the shower on.

I stripped from my clothes, and I stepped into the warm water. I washed my hair and my body before getting out. I didn't want to stay here long because I needed to go back to the police station.

I brushed my teeth and my hair before putting on jeans and a hoodie. I slipped on my tennis shoes before leaving the bathroom.

I walked back into my room, and I grabbed my phone. Then I walked downstairs to see Xavier talking with my parents.

When they noticed I entered the room, they all looked at me with worry in their eyes.

"I'm going back to the police station," I told them, stuffing my hands in my hoodie.

"Maybe you should take a nap and get some rest here, sweetheart. You look rough," Mom replied, making me instantly shake my head.

"No. I need to be at the police station," I insisted.

Dad nodded,"Okay, son. Call us when you get there. We'll bring you dinner later. You can take my car."

"Thanks, Dad. I love you guys," I said as I grabbed his car keys which were hanging up by the door.

I walked outside to my Dad's car, and I climbed in. Then I drove off back to the police station. When I arrived, some officers gave me a sad look while others smiled for encouragement.

I sat in a chair, and I pulled my phone out of my pocket. I texted both of my parents to let them know I made it safely.

I started playing a game on my phone to pass time when my phone started ringing. I looked at the caller ID to see Campbell was calling me.

My eyes widen in joy and surprise, and I yelled for Luke. He came running around the corner, and when I showed him the phone, he brought me into a computer lab to trace the phone signal.

"Whatever you do, Brent, you have to act calm and normal. If Evie knows we are listening in, she can hurt, Campbell, okay? You also need to keep her on for as long as you can so we can get a trace," Luke warned me.

I nodded,"I got this."

"Answer it," Luke said, and I swiped the phone button.

I put it on speaker, and I asked,"Campbell?"

"She's kinda of busy at the moment, but I'm here," Evie responded, making me scowl.

"Brent!" Her voice yelled and I heard her struggling against something.

Her voice was like sweet music to my ears. I released a deep breath of air that I didn't know I was holding. Hearing her voice brought tears to my eyes.

"Campbell, are you okay?" I asked her, worriedly.

"Not really," she replied as she continued to struggle against something.

Probably restraints.

Just the thought made me want to throw up.

"I am going to find you, I promise," I promised her, running a hand through my hair.

"Don't make promises you can't keep, Brent," Evie replied, curtly.

"Evie, I swear to everything you love, if you hurt her-.." I started threatening her, but I was cut off by Evie.

"End me blah blah. Look she is all yours if I get what I want."

I looked up at Luke who nodded for me to continue.

"What do you want?" I asked, keeping my voice calm as I can.

"I want money. I want to leave this country and enter a new one without being chased down by cops. I want to have a happy life with Dean."

I looked back up at Luke who was pondering about something. He wrote on a piece of paper I can get those things for you, but it's going to take a while.

I repeated the words exactly like on the paper "I can get those things for you, but it's going to take a while."

Evie tsked,"That's too bad. I really didn't want to do this, but you left me no choice. This is going to be your fault, Brent."

My eyebrows furrowed in confusion, and I heard shuffling in the background.

Then I heard the worst thing I could possibly imagine. I heard Campbell scream, and then she got louder. My heart shattered since there was nothing I could do.

Tears rolled down my cheeks as I listened to my girl screaming in pain.

"Campbell?!" I yelled through her screaming. "Evie, what did you do?!"

I heard something metal hit something else in the background. Neither of them answered my questions

"Campbell, baby, please talk to me. What happened?" I asked, trying to keep my voice straight, but it broke as my heart pounded loudly in my chest.

"You have about four to five hours before Campbell bleeds out. I want all of those things or your girlfriend bleeds to death. Your choice. I'll give you a location when you let me know all of those things are done. I'll see you in a little bit, Brent," Evie said before hanging up the phone.

My eyes widen, and I grabbed my phone from the table.

No. No. No.

"No!" I yelled at the stupid device.

"Were you able to get a trace?" Luke asked the guy.

The guy nodded,"Yes. She is forty minutes away in a motel called Blue Side Motel."

"Alec probably knows where that is. Hold on," I said, dialing his number .

"Brent, did you guys find her?" Alec asked once he picked up the phone.

"Alec, listen to me, where is Blue Side Motel?" I asked him, nervously.

"It's on the edge of town. Like twenty minutes from where I live, but I'm in Midville. I was coming to get an update about Campbell."

I groaned, frustrated with all of this.

"But," Alec said,"I know somebody who lives five minutes from there."

"Dean," we said at the same time.

"Alec, call Dean. Tell him everything. Then come get me. We are going to go save Campbell," I said before hanging up the phone.

"We'll get a team together, Luke said, making me nod.

Please hold on, Campbell.

I'm coming.
