"IT'S MY FAVORITE DAY OF THE YEAR!" Nick exclaimed, slamming my door open.

I was already awake, but I was still laid up in my bed, not wanting to get up. Nick saw that I was awake and he left my room, slamming other doors.

After what happened Monday night, I haven't been sleeping okay. I only sleep okay when Brent is here. Something about his presence comforts me.

And it's not I can FaceTime him right now because I don't have a phone right now. But that's all going to change tomorrow morning.

"Nick! Get off of me you big baboon!" I heard Elliot yell.

"Boys quit it," Lisa scolded as she walked into my room.

She smiled at me,"Good morning, Campbell."

"Morning," I replied, rubbing my eyes.

"Thanksgiving lunch will be done around one and we have guests coming over," Lisa informed me.

I nodded before I heard a loud crash coming from the hallway. Lisa rolled her eyes with a sigh before leaving my room.

Then I heard her fussing at Nick and Elliot. I shook my head as I got out of my bed. I walked into my bathroom.

I used the restroom before washing my hands. Then I went into my closet to find an outfit. I scanned through my clothes until found a cute white blouse. I paired it with a light pair of jeans with rips in it.

I changed into the outfit, and I looked at myself in the body mirror. It was cute, and I grabbed a pair of shoes before leaving my closet.

After putting my shoes on, I brushed my hair and teeth. I then curled my hair before spraying perfume.

I walked out of my room, and I walked over to the stairs. I was on the second step when a memory clouded my mind.

Nick opened the sliding door before running outside. I followed him, and Nick was backing up slowly, facing me.

"We can always talk this over a nice big lunch. I will buy you gummy bears and coffee for the next year," Nick offered, stopping right on the edge of the pool ledge. "Just don't hit the face."

I gave him a kind smile. "Okay. You owe me gummy bears and coffee for the rest of the year then we'll be even."

He relaxed before I barely pushed him back into the pool. He fell into the water, soaking his clothes. I smirked as he swam back up to the surface.

"Now we are even," I said before twirling back around. I walked towards the porch where Brent was standing, watching the whole show.

Brent looked amused, and I said,"Hey, now, I didn't hurt him."

"I'm proud. I really thought he was a goner for a second there," Brent replied as I walked over to him.

"He was. Now, excuse me, but I have to go change into some nice and dry clothes," I said before walking to the sliding door.

"Red looks good on you, by the way," Brent commented, making me stop walking.

I looked down at my shirt to see my red bralettee showing through my white shirt.

My cheeks were probably red as a fire truck right now. I continued to walk inside, covering my chest.

"Campbell!" Micheal yelled, getting my attention.

I blinked, taking in my surroundings. Micheal was in front of me, and he had his hands on my arms.

"Are you okay? Do you need to lie down?" Micheal asked me, making me shake my head.

"Thank you, but no. I just need a moment," I told Micheal.

"Did you have a memory?" Micheal asked me, letting go of my arms.

I nodded,"Yeah. I pushed Nick into a pool."

Micheal grinned, and Nick came walking down the stairs. He stopped when he reached us, and he gave us a questionable look.

"You guys good?" Nick asked.

"Campbell remembers pushing you into the pool," Micheal informed Nick.

Nick widen his eyes and I asked,"What did you do to make me do that?"

Micheal chuckled as Nick went pale. "Well, Brent came over, and you wouldn't get out of bed. So, I, uhm, poured cold water all over you."

My mouth dropped open,"What? The number one rule is to never ever wake a woman up when she is asleep. Not even if you are dying."

"I get that now, but don't worry, I got payback," Nick said with a shake of his head.

"Is that all you remember?" Micheal asked me.

No.

"Yes," I replied, not wanting to tell them about the red bra and Brent.

"These memories are going to get you hurt. You  were about to fall down the stairs when I grabbed ahold of you," Micheal stated, protectively.

"Well, there is not much I can do," I said before the doorbell rang.

Nick, Micheal, and I raised our eyebrows. It was only 10:30 in the morning and Thanksgiving dinner isn't until 1:00.

I walked down the stairs with Nick and Micheal behind me, and I opened the front door. Standing in front of me was a beautiful woman and a handsome man.

The woman was literally flawless. Her long platinum blonde hair was curled, and she wore makeup and it looks all natural. She was dressed in a black dress bringing out her icy blue eyes.

The man next to her had on a tuxedo, and he had a maroon tie to match the woman's dress. The man had light brown hair and dark brown eyes. You could tell this man was fit by his biceps and his sharp jawline.

"Uncle Nathan, Aunt Jessica, I thought you guys weren't coming," Nick said to the strangers as they smiled.

"We weren't planning on it, but we decided that it wasn't fair to Maya," the man, Nathan, spoke.

"Oh, Mom! Dad! We have guests!" Micheal yelled, not even bothering to say hello to them.

Lisa and Ross came from the kitchen, and their eyes widen when they saw who was at the door. Then Lisa smiled.

"Nathan! Jessica! Hello!" Lisa exclaimed, hugging them both.

"Hi. How's the baby?" Jessica asked Lisa as she rubbed her belly.

"Amber is doing perfectly fine," Lisa informed them, kindly.

Ross and Nathan shook hands, and Nathan asked,"Where's Maya?"

"I think upstairs in her room. Campbell, can you go tell Maya her parents are here?" Ross asked me with a smile.

I nodded before walking back up the stairs. I knocked on Maya's door, and I heard sniffling. I opened the door, and I saw Maya sitting on her bed, crying.

"Maya?" I asked her, making her head snap up to see me standing in the doorway.

She quickly wiped her tears away,"I'm sorry. I just watched a sad movie."

I didn't believe her.

"Your parents are downstairs," I told her, softly.

"I know," she snapped before her face softened. "Sorry, I didn't mean to snap."

"It's alright. Are you not happy your parents are here?" I asked her, shutting the door behind me.

"I am. See?" She said before putting on a huge smile.

"Then what's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing. I'm going to go get ready. I'll be down in a moment," she said before darting told her bathroom. I heard the door lock, and I sighed.

Something is going on with Maya, and I want to help her.

I walked out of her room, and I walked into Elliot's room. He was throwing on a nice red polo shirt.

"Hey," he said before adding,"Have you ever heard of knocking?"

"Elliot, Maya's parents are here and she doesn't seem too happy about it. She was crying in her room," I said, ignoring him. Before Elliot could say anything, Lisa walked in the room with Nathan and Jessica behind her.

"Did you get Maya?" Lisa asked me.

I nodded with a smile,"She was finishing up her makeup." Jessica frowned, but she didn't say anything.

"Lisa is being so rude. Since she isn't going to introduce us, I will," Nathan said, but he had a hint of humor in his voice. "I'm Nathan Walker, and this is my lovely wife, Jessica."

"Campbell," I replied, shaking his hand.

"It's lovely to meet you," Jessica said, giving me a small wave.

"Alright since introductions have been made why don't we go tour the the backyard?" Lisa asked, clasping her hands together.

"You guys still have that huge pool?" Nathan asked as they walked out of Elliot's room.

"Of course," I heard Lisa say.

"I don't know why Maya is upset. They seem lovely," I said, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Maya and her parents don't get along very well. I don't know any of the details of their disagreements, but I know it's pretty bad," Elliot replied, scratching the back of his neck.

"Okay. I'll go check on her again," I said before walking out of his room.

I was about to walk to Maya's door when I saw Brent standing outside my door to my room. He smiled when he saw me.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him, walking closer to him.

"I figured I would go to two Thanksgiving dinners today," Brent told me, making me smile.

"Really?" I asked him, excited.

He nodded,"I'm having Thanksgiving with you and the boys. Then at six o'clock I have to go to my Grandmother's house for my family's Thanksgiving dinner."

"You are awesome," I said as I hugged him.

"Well, I get more food, and I get to hang out with you. My two favorite things in this entire universe."

I smiled, and I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. Then Maya walked out of her room, looking beautiful as always. Her eyes widen when she saw Brent.

"Brent, you can't be here," Maya whispered, looking down the hallway.

"What? What's going on?" Brent asked her, making m furrow my eyebrows.

"My parents are here."

Brent shrugged,"And?"

Maya sighed in frustration,"They think we are still together."

Woah, woah, woah.

Hold the mic.

Maya and Brent dated?!

Did I know about this before the memory loss?!

"What? You two dated?!" I asked, completely shocked.

Brent nodded,"Yes for three years and yes you knew about this before your memory loss. Now why the hell do they think we are still together and how did they find out we were together?"

"I told them this past summer. I told them that you were my boyfriend, and I wanted to move here to be with you. They believed me, and that's how I ended up here. It wasn't because of my grades. I came to Midville to get you back, but I realized you didn't love me anymore.

I didn't have the courage to tell them that we broke up and I couldn't win you back. It would have disappointed them. I would have been more of a disappointment to them," Maya explained as her lip trembled.

"Maya, you are not a disappointment. They are just idiots," Brent said before hugging her.

Jealously went through my body, but I know that Brent only has eyes for me so I calmed myself down.

"I should go tell them before they see you," Maya said after they broke apart.

"Well, about that, why don't we just pretend we are dating? They are only here for a few hours, right?" Brent asked, making me and Maya look at him like he was crazy.

"Yeah, but I can't ask you to do that. You and Campbell are together," Maya said, shaking her head.

"Maya," I said, making her look at me. "It's okay. I know you would do the same for me. Just don't kiss him."

Maya smiled,"Thank you."

"Anytime," Brent replied before Nathan called for Maya.

"I gotta go. I'll see you in a few moments," Maya said before scurrying downstairs to see her parents.

"I'm sorry, Campbell," Brent apologized, but I shook my head.

"It's fine, really," I replied, not wanting to talk about it.

"It's really not. The idea just popped in my head and it was out of my mouth before I could think about it."

"Well, you still only eyes for me, right?" I asked him with a raised eyebrow.

"Of course," he replied without hesitation.

"Then it's fine. Maya is already upset, and she doesn't deserve being yelled at on Thanksgiving," I told him.

"Brent!" Maya called from downstairs.

"Go and put on a good show. I'll be down right behind you," I said.

Brent nodded before walking down the stairs. I heard chatter downstairs, and I quickly told each one of my brothers what is going on so they wouldn't blow Maya's lie.

After I was done with that, I walked downstairs to see the adults, Brent, and Maya in the formal living room.

"Campbell, Grace and David are on their way. Leah stayed the night with Grace's mother so she will not be coming," Lisa informed me, shutting her phone off.

"Okay."

"Who's Grace and David?" Nathan asked Lisa and Ross.

"Grace is my biological mother and David is her husband; my step father I guess," I answered his question.

"Wait, I'm so confused. Lisa and Ross adopted you, but they are friends with your biological mother?" Jessica asked me.

"Grace didn't come back into my life until a few months ago, and we grew close. Our families grew close too," I replied with a smile.

"And your biological father?" Jessica asked, tilting her head.

My hand started to tremble, and I gathered it into a tight fist to stop it from shaking.

"He passed away in September," Ross said, trying to help me out.

"Oh, we are so sorry for your loss," Nathan told me.

"Thank you," I said, shortly.

"I'm going to go check on the turkey. Ross, can you come help me?" Lisa asked, making Ross nod.

"We'll be right back," Ross told us before they left the room.

"Hey, Brent, you wanna play a game of football?" Nick asked plopping down the stairs with the rest of my brothers behind him.

"Uh, sure," Brent said, standing up from the couch.

"Count me in. I haven't played in forever," Nathan said, also standing up from the couch.

"Come on, let's go see if Dad will play," Gaberial said before they all headed to the kitchen, leaving me, Maya, and her mother together.

Alone.

"Why aren't you wearing the nice dress I bought you before you left?" Jessica asked her daughter.

"It's too small," Maya replied, tapping her foot anxiously.

"Too small?" Jessica asked with her nose scrunched. "But you wear a small. The dress was a small."

"I'm a medium now," Maya said, almost scared to say that.

"Have you not been watching what you eat? The model industry is not going to give you a chance if you wear a medium. I need to make you a diet plan," Jessica said, making my blood boil.

"Maya is fine the way she is," I blurted out, making Jessica glare at me.

"Excuse me?" Jessica asked me with a scowl.

"I said that Maya is perfectly fine the way she is. She doesn't need a diet plan. Let her eat whatever the hell she wants," I argued, standing up from the couch.

"Last time I checked I am her mother and she will do as I ask. I guess your mother really didn't care about you since you are extremely overweight. I mean, look at your thighs. You ain't ever getting a man with all your fat," Jessica said, standing up from her seat.

Don't get me wrong, I have gain a few pounds over the last couple months, but I didn't think I was overweight for my height and age.

Before I could say anything, Grace and David walked into the living room.

And they looked beyond angry.

"Sorry to burst your selfish bubble, but my daughter is gorgeous and yes she actually does have man wrapped around her finger. He literally took a bullet for her. They are happy and healthy. And they don't need a stuck up bitch telling them otherwise!" Grace exclaimed, taking a couple steps towards Jessica.

"Do you know who I am? I wouldn't be insulting me if I were you," Jessica replied, bitterly.

"Honey, I'm not insulting you, I'm describing you," Grace responded with a sarcastic smile.

"What is going on?" Lisa asked, walking into the heated argument.

"This wannabe Elsa is telling Campbell that she is fat and how she will never get a man because of it," Grace told Lisa who glared at Jessica.

"Lisa, this is a whole big misunderstanding. You believe me, right?" Jessica asked Lisa.

"Jessica, we might be sisters in law, but do not think I would believe you over my daughter. Now, you outta apologize before I throw you out of my house," Lisa said, gesturing to the door.

"I'm sorry Campbell. I was out of line," Jessica apologized as she still glared at me.

"Dinner is ready. I'm going to go set up the dinner table. Grace, will you help me?" Lisa asked Grace who smirked at Jessica.

"Of course."

Grace and Lisa walked into the kitchen with David in suit. Jessica didn't say anything to me, but she did walk up the stairs leaving me and Maya alone.

"Campbell, I'm so sorry. My mother was extremely out of line," Maya apologized to me.

"It's fine, Maya. She shouldn't have said that about you. You are beautiful, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise."

Maya smiled,"Thank you."

"You are my family. I will do anything for my family," I told her before she hugged me.

I hugged her back, and Lisa yelled,"Dinner!Let's get to the table!"

Maya and I broke apart, and we headed to the kitchen. We were eating outside since it was a beautiful day. Food was placed down the middle of the table, and everybody was making their way to their seats.

Maya sat down, and I sat down two seats from her so Brent could sit beside her since they were still fake dating. Brent came up to the table, and he sat down beside me.

"Everything okay?" he whispered, noticing my odd behavior.

I nodded, not wanting to get him worried,"Yeah. Why wouldn't it be?"

"Okay. This food looks delicious," Brent said, eyeing the food with a hungry look.

Everybody was seated except for Jessica, but she can a few minutes later with a smirk. She sat down beside her husband, across from me.

"Alright, let's get started, shall we?" Ross asked with a grin. "I want to thank everybody for being here and thank my beautiful wife for making this extraordinary food. Don't know where I would be without you, honey.

I'm thankful that everybody is healthy. I'm extremely thankful to my children. You guys, and gal, make my day amazing and I love you all. I'm thankful for my friends and my in laws. You guys are awesome.

And I'm extremely grateful that I am the new Chief of Surgery of the hospital," Ross said, making everybody eyes widen.

"Oh my goodness! That is awesome!" Nick exclaimed.

"Congrats, Dad!" Micheal said.

"You the big boss now!" Gaberial said.

"You deserve it!" Gavin said.

"I'm so happy for you," I said with a big smile on my face.

"Thank you. I just was moved up yesterday. I start the new position tomorrow," Ross said before sitting in his seat. "Dig in."

Food was being passed around, and I filled my plate. I looked to make sure Maya was eating, and she was.

"I'm so glad that Reed is going to retire. He is a great surgeon, but he was getting way too stressed," David said before taking a sip of his water.

"Agreed. I'm surprised he didn't have a heart attack during his years considering that his blood pressure must have been threw the roof everyday," Ross replied before taking a bite of his green beans.

"So, Brent, Maya told us you are going to play college ball. Have you chosen a school yet?" Nathan asked Brent.

Brent
