"I LOOK LIKE I'M PREGNANT with a food baby!" Nick groaned, patting his stomach.

I was sitting at the bar scrolling on my MacBook researching information for a research paper I have to turn in Monday.

I'm taking my time with my MacBook because as soon as I am done it has to go straight back into Lisa's office where my tv remote and phone is at. The only reason I'm allowed to have my MacBook is for this paper on the ocean.

"Nick, you literally have a six pack. I assure you that you don't look like you have a food baby in your stomach," I said glancing up at him.

"You know, now that I think about it, after lacrosse season, I'm not doing anymore sports! That means I'll lose my precious babies!" Nick said with wide eyes.

"You know there is a place to keep in shape. It's called a gym. Why don't you look that up?" I said, sarcastically before Maya strolled into the kitchen.

"Hey, Campbell, have you seen my maroon leggings? I was going to head to the gym, but I can't find them anywhere," Maya asked me as I looked over at Nick who was eating a brownie.

"Last time I saw them, they were on the dryer in a basket," I answered before typing the last sentence on my essay.

"Thanks. I'll go look," Maya thanked me before leaving g the kitchen.

I sent my essay to my teacher before closing my MacBook. I got off the bar stool before I left the room with my MacBook in my hands.

Lisa was in her office typing away on her computer. She looked up when she saw me, and she gave me a tight smile.

"Did you finish your essay?" Lisa asked me, holding her hands out for my laptop.

I nodded,"Yes ma'am. It's done and submitted."

I handed her my laptop, and she put it in the drawer which held my other belongings. Then she looked back at me.

"Campbell, you do understand why you are grounded, right?" Lisa asked me, clasping her hands in front of her.

"Yes ma'am. I took off without telling anybody where I was. I was stupid–..." I started, but she cut me off.

"Campbell Jane West Cade, don't you ever call yourself stupid, again. You were hurting, and that pain was clouding your mind."

I nodded and she said,"I love you, Campbell."

"I love you, too," I told her before I left the room.

I walked up the stairs, and when I entered my room, Summer was laying on my bed, asleep. I smiled as she snuggled into my throw blanket I had on my bed.

I grabbed a word search book, and I climbed into my bed, trying my best not to wake Summer. I grabbed a highlighter from my nightstand table, and I looked for the words.

After I did four word searches, my brain was tired, but I need one last word to finish the fourth puzzle. I have literally spent twenty minutes looking for this stupid word.

"A word search? Are you that bored?" Brent's voice asked, making me look up from the book.

I smiled as Brent walked into my room, shoving his hands in his letterman jacket pockets. But then I realized what I was wearing, and I mentally scolded myself. If I knew Brent was coming over, I would have worn something better than a sweatshirt and fluffy cloud sleeping pants.

"Ah, yeah. Word searches are actually fun, well to me at least," I said with a shrug.

I put the book down on my bed, and I threw the blanket off of me. I stood up from my bed as I tried to gather myself.

"So, how the grounded life?" Brent asked me.

"Not fun what's so ever. I wanted to call you, but my phone is being held hostage right now."

"Nick told me," he replied, shortly. He moved to my bookshelf, and he scanned through my books.

"I'm sorry," I blurted out, making him look at me with a raised eyebrow.

"What's there to be sorry for?"

"I stood you up. I went with Alec, who you hate, and I hurt you. I'm sorry," I apologized, playing with the sleeve of my sweatshirt.

"I understand why you did it. You were hurting, and I was a bad friend for not telling you the truth. I should be the one to say sorry," Brent said, and I saw the pain in his face when he said friend.

"This is not your fault. I was selfish, and I want to make it up to you," I told him, making him smile.

"What do you have in mind?"

I actually had multiple date ideas in my head, but they were pretty basic. I want this date to be awesome especially after all we have been through.

"It's a surprise," I told him with a convincing smile.

"And when is this date?" He asked me, walking closer to me.

"Saturday," I replied.

"Well, it sounds like a plan."

"You staying over tonight or no?" I asked him, pushing a strand of hair behind my ear, nervously.

He nodded,"Yes. Nick asked if I wanted to stay over tonight because he needed some help in destroying Micheal's high score on this racing game."

I giggled before saying,"Are we okay?"

Brent nodded with a charming smile on his face,"We're okay, Campbell."

"Brent Mason! Get your butt up here and help me destroy Micheal!" Nick yelled from the attic.

"That's my cue," Brent said with a shake of his head.

"Wait, before you go..." I said before running over to my bed, grabbing the word search before continuing,"please help me find this stupid word. I have been looking for twenty minutes, and I'm getting frustrated with it."

I showed him the word search and he chuckled.

"What?" I asked him, putting my hands on my hips.

"You're literally an ancient soul trapped in a teenage body," Brent joked making me gasp.

"I am not! I'm just bored," I declared, lightly pushing him.

"You just said word searches are fun! Word searches are fun for old people," Brent objected, making me pout.

"Okay so I'm an ancient soul. Just please help me find this word before I lose my mind,"  I replied with a playful eye roll.

He looked at the word search before looking back up at me with a raised eyebrow. "You can't find love?"

I nodded,"Yes I have looked everywhere."

He pointed at the word search right in the middle of my lines crossing. "It's right here in all of this mess."

I shook my head,"I literally looked over it multiple times. I can't believe it was right there in my face this whole time."

"Love can be like that sometimes," Brent mumbled but I heard him.

"BRENT MASON! I NEED BACKUP! ASAP! I'M DYING OUT HERE!" Nick screamed like a little child.

"I gotta go before he kills me," Brent said, handing me back the book.

"Well, thank you for helping me."

"No problem, princess," he told me as he walked out my door.

I smiled as I looked at the page to see small hearts around the word love.

I really like Brent, and I need to figure out something amazing for our date Saturday night.

Time to do bring out the big guns...
