WHEN LUNCH TIME CAME AROUND, I was happy that the day was almost over. I sat down beside Brent who gave me a sly smile.

"Hey, do you guys know Clary?" I asked the girls, opening my water.

Hailey furrowed her eyebrows,"Yeah. Why do you ask?"

"I met her this morning in the hall. I invited her and her friend to the sleepover tomorrow night," I explained, making everybody go still.

"You what?" Nichole asked me with wide eyes.

"What's the big deal? She is too kind to hurt me if that's what you are worried about," I said, poking my salad with my fork.

"Campbell, Clary-..." Maya started, but Gaberial interrupted her.

"-is sweet," Gaberial finished for her, giving her a warning glare. Maya nodded, and she cleared her throat. Everybody, except Brent, nodded in agreement.

"Oh for gosh sakes. Stop lying to her," Brent said, pushing away his food.

"Brent!" Nick hissed, but I looked over at Brent.

"Lying about what?" I asked him, making him look up at me.

"Clary is a total bitch. She bullied you, told the whole school about Malcom, and she told you ruined your homecoming night just because she was jealous," Brent explained, not skipping a beat.

"Really?" I asked him.

"I can't lie to you anymore," he replied before looking back at the table.

Clary seemed so nice this morning. I'm not saying I don't believe Brent, but I don't know how Clary could be mean.

"Well, maybe she had a change of heart," I said after a few moments in silence.

"If she is being nice to you, it's because she has something up her sleeve," Gavin told me before drinking his soda.

"Well, I guess we shall find out tomorrow night," I replied, stubbornly.

"Campbell, we are trying to warn you that she is going to hurt you," Micheal told me, tapping his finger on the table.

"And that may be the case, but I am going to give her another chance. It's not like I remember that stuff anyways." Everything went quiet at the table, and I lost my appetite suddenly.

"I'm have to go to the...library," I quickly lied, getting up from the table.

I threw the rest of my food away before leaving the cafeteria. I walked into the library, and I ran into the librarian, Mrs. Daniels.

"I'm so sorry," I apologized, looking up at her. Her dark blonde hair was curled today, and she was dressed in a dark red blouse with dark jeans. Her bright green eyes looked at me with surprise.

"Its okay. I wasn't paying attention," she replied, pushing her hair out of her face.

"Are you leaving?" I asked her, noticing she had her coat and her purse in her hands.

"Yes, actually. My son got into some trouble at school, and I have to lock up the library. Were you looking for something?"

I shook my head,"Ah, no."

"Okay, then, I kinda in a hurry," she said, gesturing to the door.

"Oh, yeah, sorry," I muttered, walking back out of the door. She followed me, and she locked the door behind me.

Then she gave me a smile before walking down the hallway to the double doors. The bell rang, signaling that lunch was over.

I headed to my next class, and I secretly hoped that the rest of my day would go by quick so I can go back to my bed.

"Phones in here," Mrs. Gomez instructed, holding out a clear container to put our phones in. I put mine in there, and Brent did the same thing.

There was only four other people, and they were keeping to theirselves. I recognized one of the boys from my English class.

Once all the phones were in the bin, Mrs. Gomez put on the top, and she pursed her lips at us.

"You will get your phones after detention. Now, you guys will be split up in pairs. Faith and Dani, you will be picking up trash outside, and taking out trash from classrooms. Ashton and Nate, you two will be cleaning under every desk upstairs. Lastly, Brent and Campbell, you two will be downstairs sweeping and mopping the floors.

You guys will get to leave at 4:30. Just do your job, and we won't have a problem. If you try and leave before then, you will earn in school detention. Do I make myself clear?" Mrs. Gomez asked, finishing her speech.

"Yes maam," we all mumbled, and she nodded.

"You can leave the classroom. I'll be in here if you guys need anything," Mrs. Gomez told us, sitting down at her desk.

We left the classroom, and everybody went different ways. Brent and I walked beside each other, and I quickly glanced over at him.

He was deep in thought. His hair was tousled, like he ran his hand through it multiple times. I bet it's soft if I ran my fingers through it.

Why am I thinking about his hair?

I shook my head as I looked away.

"The janitor's closet is right here," Brent told me as we walked off the last step. We walked across the hall to a large wood door that was propped open.

Brent opened the door, and he walked into the closet, turning on a light switch when he entered. I stayed out in the hallway holding the door, not wanting to enter the closet.

I'm hate tiny spaces. I'm claustrophobic thanks to Malcom.

"Hey, Campbell, can you grab the mop bucket?" Brent asked me as he grabbed the broom and mop.

"Yeah," I replied, shortly. The faster I grab what I need, the faster I can leave this closet.

I walked into the closet, letting go of the door. It shut behind me, but I kept my focus on the mop bucket.

"Shit," Brent muttered, making me look over at him. He was over at the door, trying to open it.

"Oh no," I whispered as I looked around. Already, the walls started closing in, and I felt my breath quicken.

"Looks like we are stuck in here. No wonder why it was propped open," Brent said with a tiny laugh.

"No, we can't be stuck in here," I blurted out before walking over to the door.

I turned the knob, but it wouldn't budge. My eyes widen as I started to hit the door. Somebody has to hear us, they have to.

"Hey, somebody! Help!" I yelled, hitting the door.

"Campbell, nobody is going to hear us," Brent told me, calmly.

My hands were shaking as I continued to hit the door. My breathing was uneven and quick.

This was all Malcom's fault I don't like small spaces.

"You idiotic brat!" Malcom yelled at me, grabbing me by my upper arm.

"I-I'm sorry. I d-didn't mean t-to," I stuttered, afraid he was going to hit me.

"That was my dinner you threw on the floor!" He yelled at me. "I gave you a roof over your head, and all I ask was you to cook and bring me my dinner! Was it that hard?!"

"I-I tripped," I explained as tears started to form in my eyes.

"Don't lie to me, girl! Do you wanna know where liars go?" Malcom asked me as his grip tightened.

I shook my head, and he dragged me out into the hallway. He opened the hallway closet, and I knew what he was thinking.

"No! Please! I'll make you more!" I exclaimed before he threw me into the closet. I landed on the floor, and my side throbbed from the previous bruises.

"You want to lie to me then you get to stay in here in the dark!" He roared before slamming the door.

I quickly scrambled to my feet, and I tried to open the door. He had something against the door.

I hit the door over and over, screaming,"Let me out!"

"Let me out!"

"Campbell, calm down! It's me, Brent! It's okay! I'm right here!" Brent's voice exclaimed, bringing me back to reality.

My breathing continued to quicken, and I felt dizzy. I was having a panic attack. Brent noticed this too.

Then when I turned back to face him, he kissed me. His lips were warm, and it was nice. A longing feeling went through me. Instead of pushing him away, I kissed him back for some unknown reason.

He wrapped his arms around my waist, and I put my arms around his neck as the kiss deepened. I played with his hair, and I felt relaxed.

Brent broke apart so we could both breathe after a few moments. Instantly, I wanted his lips back on mine.

We stared at each other for a few seconds, not knowing what to say, before the door was yanked open revealing Mrs. Gomez.

"There you two are. Come on, the floors won't clean themselves."
