Everly

After school, Elliot was leaning against my locker and glaring at everyone who was looking at him. He looked very intimidating that way.

Before I could reach him, someone stepped in front of me and I almost fell behind my back before they caught me.

"Are you okay?" He asked, worried. "I am sorry, I took you off guard."

"It's okay." I tell him and looked at him. His height covering me from seeing Elliot.

"Where are you going?" Aiden asked as he turned to look behind him. "Oh." He said looking disappointed. "You are hanging out with him?"

"I am not exactly sure about that?" I said. "He have plans, I believe so? But not sure if it is with me."

"If not, do you want to go somewhere with me?" He asked hopeful.

"I would love that?" I said, not wanting to say no to him. "Where are we going?"

"I wanted to go to the park near school for our assignment and thought you might like it too."

That definitely perk my interests as it is related to school and environment. Elliot stood behind Aiden, towering us. His death glare is unavoidable and I tried to ease the tension that was building between us. Both Aiden and I was cautious of Elliot as we did not want him to create some scenes and wanted him to be in a good mood.

"Are you ready?" He simply asked me, ignoring Aiden who was standing in front of me.

"What is the plan?" I asked him, cautiously looking for any reaction.

"I will drop you off home." He said with a grim face and looked at Aiden.

"Then she can come with me." Aiden said, looking at Elliot straight in the eyes, almost challenging him.

"What do you mean?" Elliot snapped.

"I am inviting her to work on an assignment together." Aiden said, calmly.

Elliot snorted and give him a death glare, before looking at me. "I can help you with the assignments."

"Don't you have other plans?" I asked.

"That can wait." He said to me. "Where are you guys planning to go to do your 'assignments'." He said emphasizing on the word, assignments.

"To the park near school."

Elliot chuckled and pulled me by my sleeve, gently. "We will see you there."

I looked back at Aiden who waved awkwardly back at me as Elliot pulled me towards his car in the almost empty parking lot.

"I thought you have plans." I said again.

"That can wait." He muttered. "That guy seem troublesome to me."

"Did I heard it right?" I asked him, surprised by his words. "Do you even know him to know he is troublesome?"

"I don't need to know him to know he is troublesome, I can sense it."

This time I laughed, sarcastically. "What is it? Are you a sensor for troubles now?"

He smirked at me, "I believe so.. I am always hundred percent right about people when I use my troublesome sensor."

"You sound like a weirdo now." I scrunched my nose and he smiled as he pulled the door opened for me.

"Better a weirdo than a pervert." I heard him mutter lightly under his breath.

I almost questioned him about his comment, but he was quick enough to change the topic. We reached before Aiden even though we stopped to get some foods.

Elliot munched on his bagel as he sat on the bench and looked at the crowded park. "What is this? Some f^cking amusement park? Why are there so many people here on a f^cking Monday."

Some parents give us glares and pull their children away from someone, who needs filter in their mouth.

"Can you not do that? There are some children here." I pointed out.

"Do I give a flying sh^t about that?" He asked as he took the last bite of his salmon bagel and threw the bag in the trash can. "Where is that piece of sh^t?"

"Can you not do that? You are embarrassing me?" I covered my face. "Everyone is looking."

"They act like they never swore before." He said putting on his glasses. "Where is that piece of sh^t?" He said as he looked at the time from his phone.

Just then, Aiden came huffing and puffing. "sorry, took me a while."

"No worries." I said and Elliot was going to say something, before I nudge him gently and handed a bag of sandwich to Aiden.

"Thanks Ever."

"Her name is Everly." Elliot corrected him.

"What is your problem?" Aiden asked annoyed. "She doesn't have a problem with that."

"I do for sure." Elliot pointed out. "What Assignment is it? Can you hurry up? It's getting cold and if she gets sick again, you are in deep trouble." He warns Aiden and I laughed awkwardly.

"It's okay. We have layers of clothes." I tried to ease the situation.

But both of them looked at each other with a look, that meant no sh^t.

Elliot was annoying Aiden, it was obvious. His comments was not really needed, but I found it quite useful and interesting. His comments were reasonable and facts that I did not know. With Elliot's help, even though Aiden doesn't want to admit it, we were able to finish our observation and wrap up our work quickly.

"You can go ahead with your plan." Aiden said to Elliot. "I am taking her out for dinner."

Elliot's smirked and said, "Why do you think I have plans? and no she is not going out with you."

Now I was a little agitated by Elliot. "Why?" Was my comeback, small and weak one- might I add.

"Because I said so." He said, as simple as that, like I will listen to him.

"Who are you to tell me what to do?"

Elliot scowled at me and then looked at Aiden. "Take your sorry a^^ out of here before I kick them."

"Why do I have to leave?" Aiden asked.

"Because I said so." Elliot said, his tone sounding of business and no jokes.

I was going to interrupt when Elliot said.

"In the count of 5 if you don't leave, I have to kick your a^^ and don't whine later about not warning you because I just did and she is my witness."

"Why the heck am I getting involve in this?" I said to him. "He did nothing."

"Oh baby, you don't know him well enough to know how crap and a pervert that he is."

Aiden was fuming. "What did you say?"

"In the count of five. Leave or I will make you leave and I don't mind the bloody fights." And we all know he is not lying, he will do what he wants.

"I think you should leave." I said to Aiden.

"Are you giving into him?" Aiden asked in disbelief.

"I don't want any blood in the park and I don't want either of you in a hospital, so please." I pleaded. "He won't listen to me, but I hope you do."

Aiden looked defeated and then sigh before turning back to leave and not before muttering something under his breath.

"Let's be nice." I tell Elliot, who put his arm on my shoulder, which I tried to remove it.

"I am nice." He smiled. "If I want to." He added, making me roll my eyes.

"You don't know, how nice I am right now, he and his sorry a^^ would have been in the hospital by now, but I cannot let you see that."

"Why?" I asked.

"You are just too innocent for the world." He said, hinting something that I cannot point out.
