Everly

Lunch time is my favourite time, but Abby thinks that I hate lunch just because I get straight A+ in my classes, doesn't mean I love classes, it's just I am trying to make it to my dream college.

We sat outside, under the tree, fall is starting soon and leaves are slowly falling to the ground and after sometime we have to look for another spot to sit. As I munch my chips while Abby was eating her sandwich, we see jocks walking to the field that we were sitting in. It is so surprisingly, they are usually in the cafeteria mocking teachers and teasing students, that they think are lower to their levels.

I see Elliot leading the pack of wild wolves to the field and might I add, the so-called friends of his would jump on the road with moving car if he tells them to. I won't say that they are loyal, but they are with him because Elliot can either make them or break them. Elliot Walker, who is an English, moved here with his family to Buffalo two years back, and started ruling the school like he owns it, his families owns businesses with airlines, publishing houses and products. When he first came to this school, he made sure everyone knew their places- jocks and our then popular child- Chase Richardson, tried to bully him on his first day and boy, Chase was no where to be seen for six months along with his friends. After that, everyone figured that it is better to be on the good side of Elliot. Elliot who is 6 ft 2 in stood in the middle of the field, his brown hair looked messy, most probably he had a fling with someone before this. He was looking at the many trees that were near the fields.

"Should we leave?" I asked Abby, who was excited, her eyes was focus on the people, the cheerleader joined too and was whispering to each other.

I have a bad and ill feeling seeing them standing in the field, it was like the calm before the storm.

Zack Collins came in view with Winnie beside him, Zack had picnic basket on his one hand and the other hand was intertwine with Winnie's

Winnie looked horrified seeing everyone cheering Zack and taking pictures of them. I never spoke to Winnie personally, but she is a nice girl who I had shared some classes with last year. Zack did not look happy at all and scowled at Elliot and I heard them exchanged something and it looked bitter. Winnie started crying and ran away while Zack chased after her. Elliot seemed to have said something and everyone else laughed. His eyes caught mine and I give him a disgusted look and stood with Abby to walk back inside.

"You are right." Abby said, "He is so disgusting!"

"You see that, now?" I said shaking my head in disapproval. "He was always a disappointment to me. Just because he is rich, he thinks he can do anything."

Abby was fuming and it's pretty surprising to see that, she is always so cheerful. I think she had build a friendship with Winnie when we had classes with her. Abby was worried for Winnie and thought of reaching out to her, but I was not sure if it was a good idea, but at the same time I feel that Winnie might need some support from someone in school. News had it, that Zack bet that Winnie will fall for him and if she do, Elliot will do as Zack tells him to.

The school ended with this news buzzing in the air and I sighed and asked Abby, if we should contact Winnie and she said, she already texted Winnie, but her phone was off.

"Shoot, I left my phone in the locker." I said when she spoke about the text.

"I will come with you." She said.

"No worries, school is off and all the dramas left home. I will see you tomorrow." I said and give her a quick hug and left her on the parking lot.

I rushed to my locker in hurry and turned in the corner to bumped into a wall? Because I fell flat on my bum and it did hurt. I heard a chuckled and looked up seeing a certain boy staring at me, with amused look. The same boy, who I am disgusted with. His green eyes held excitement and amused look, that I involuntary give him a disgusted look. He laughed and give me his hand to which I ignored and stood at my own feet.

"Someone is sassy." He commented,as I moved away from him.

"Hey." He called out as I ignore his called and rush to my locker and was glad, that he didn't do anything apart from calling me back,I know I have dug myself a hole by giving him a disgusting look at the same time, ignoring him at the same time. When I walked back outside the school, I noticed all the cars was gone including the black sports car and knew instantly, that I was safe until tomorrow.

I walked home with a determined look, trying not to worry too much about tomorrow. The neighbourhood, that I am living in, is pretty quiet and calm all the time. You hardly see anyone, most probably because all are busy working and doing something indoor or away from home.

When I reached home, I saw on the counter was a note from Barbara, telling me that she had made pot-pie and to eat that and she will be home later today as she have late shift today. The house was silent as usual. Phillip comes home around six in the evening. We sometime, hang out together watching some game or talking about random things. We are very close, I tried keeping certain limit between me and my adopted parents, but it is so hard when they try so hard to make sure I am happy. They want me to share everything with them in hope to bring us closer.

I went back to my room, to take a shower before hitting the bed. It feels nice, to return to my favourite place after a hectic day and it is just the beginning. I flopped down on my bed and groaned as I fell asleep hoping tomorrow will be brighter than today.
