Everly

After this morning, I didn't see Elliot again which put me away from the spotlight. After school, I went over to Abby's place. Abby's place is big and spacious. No one was at home when we walked in. We went straight to her room. She only have few hours before her date night, while she took shower and got ready. I read a book from the e-book device that Elliot bought for me and I must say it is very convenient and I am in love with it.

Abby said they are going for dinner at a fancy restaurant and she wanted to dress both formal and informal at the same time, which landed her in a knee length dress. I helped her with her hair and make up.

"You should look for a date." She said and I nodded my head.

She turned around and looked at me, "I am not saying to go for Elliot, but there are some really nice guys out there and you never know."

"I don't know." I sighed. "I don't think I am ready to date."

"Just go for dinner or lunch with someone you are interested in."

I nodded my head and wanted this conversation to end soon. I am very disinterested regarding this topic.

When she was ready, she looked at the mirror and give me two thumbs up.

"I will get going." I said to her.

"I will drop you home."

"Drop the formalities." I said teasing her. "Have a good night." And give her a quick hug.

"Are you sure?" She asked, "I feel bad."

I rolled my eyes, "I am good." I said and waved her goodbye. "Lock the door behind for me, please." As I walked down the stairs.

I had to take a bus ride to get home, I walked in her neighbourhood park. I see some children playing and some parents talking to each other. Once winter rolls by, this place will be empty for a while. I put my hands in my pocket and walked towards the bus stop.

I froze as I see a large dog running towards me and a guy running and trying to catch hold of the dog. The dog sniffed me and I tensed, but once I saw the guy put the leash on the dog, I sighed in relieved.

"I want to apologize for that, it was an accident." He said in a hurry. His platinum blond hair gelled up and his blue eyes looked at me to see my reaction.

I nodded my head and muttered a, "it's fine." And walked passed him.

Upon reaching the bus stop, I see people getting down from the bus and quickly moved, so I do not miss this bus.

I walked back from the bus stop to my house and I realized how cold it is now, compared to this morning.

I took a long shower and dressed up in sweat pants and long sleeves and pulled out my notes to study for a bit. Phillip came home with some fried foods and we discussed our day, he and I are more closer as Barbara is mostly in midnight shifts these days.

"I met your friend in the Jimmy's." He started.

"Which friend?" And it sounded stupid coming from my mouth because for sure Abby didn't go to the fast food place for date.

"Elliot." He said, "The one with British accent."

"Yea and okay?" I said.

"He is popular? All the people seemed to want his attention, especially the girls."

"Yea? He is popular in school." I said.

"You hang out with popular children now?" He asked, surprised.

"No, he is the one who is hanging out with me." I said.

He was not surprised at that comment because he knows I don't make any effort to make friends with anyone.

After dinner, I went upstairs and I decided to watch some show. Abby sent me a selfie with Tyler with caption: He said Hi to you.

I chuckled and replied a, "Hope you guys are enjoying."

I turned off all the lights before going to bed. My Friday's night is always sleep in or I go to Abby's place.

Around midnight, my phone rang waking me up and I see Abby's name and I groaned as I put my phone in my ear.

"I am coming in ten." She said.

My eyes opened, "What happened?" I sat up.

"Elliot is drunk and wild."

"So what will I do?!?" I said.

"He is not coming home with us."

"What are you doing there, anyway?" I asked.

"Tyler brought me here and Elliot was drunk and wild, started damaging the property and now we are trying to take him home."

"Give the phone to him." I said frustrated. It sound like after meeting him, my sleep is saying good bye to me.

"Hi." I heard him, his voice sounded like he is annoyed and drunk. "who is this?"

"Go home already, before I come over there."

"Look, isn't it my Everly?" He said and I hear him being playful now.

"Get your butt home, Elliot. No one is playing games now. It is late." I warned him.

"The night is still young." He said.

"Still young." I scoffed. "Someone was trying to sleep and got disturbed."

"Poor Everly." He said, "I am coming over."

"No, you are not. Go back to your own house and sleep. This is not your house."

"It is your house, what is yours is mine." He said and I rolled my eyes at him.

"Keep the jokes to yourself and goodnight, I better not get a call that you are giving trouble."

"Okay, I will see you soon. Open the door for me."

"You are not coming here, my dad is at home." I said.

"I promise I will be silent." And made the shh sound and whispered. "I will see you, soon."

"Give back the phone to Abby." I said and when Abby took the phone and said Hi. I made it clear to her.

"You better not bring him to my house, my dad is here and I don't want questions and dramas."

"Okay." Abby said.

"Goodnight, I am going back to sleep. If he gives more trouble, then please figure it out."

"You are such a nice friend." Abby remarked sarcastically.

"And you too." I said.

She chuckled and ended the call. I hate when someone wake me up and I have trouble going back to sleep, but just as I almost went back to sleep land, my phone started ringing again and I groaned and see Abby's name on the screen.

"I know, I am so sorry, but we are outside your house."

"No way, I already said I am not opening the door for anyone." I said. "Dad is home and I don't want him questioning anything."

"Tyler and I are really tired." She said.

"Not going to work." I said.

"He is whinny now." Abby said.

"Tell him to take his butt home." I said.

And I heard his voice on the phone, "You open the door now or I will ring the door bell."

"You better not, my dad is asleep."

"It's up to you." He said and I heard him walked and I panic. I know he likes challenges and this is one of the challenges for him.

"You better not." I said as I moved towards my door.

"Watch me." He said and I heard the door bell ringing.
