Rolling over onto her back Melanie grunted in pain as she could feel what seemed to be a sharp pain. She was unsure of where the pain could be coming from. Rubbing the crust out of her eyes Melanie opened them. She was met with the white ceiling, blinking repeatedly she dreaded the thought of even getting up. But today she had a doctor's appointment and unfortunately it was to late to cancel.

Removing her eyes from the ceiling she looked down at King's arm that was resting across her stomach. Glancing up at him she admired how adorable he looked while sleeping. He is truly handsome, she thought to herself as she lifted it off her.

King immediately shuffled in his sleep as he drew his hand back to his body. Taking that as her cue to get up Melanie swung her legs from underneath the covers. Blowing out a deep breath she pushed the cover from off her and proceeded to stand up. Doing her normal morning stretch Melanie made sure to keep her yawn low as she walked down the hallway.

King insisted that Melanie slept over last night in order for them to be ready and on time for their appointment.

You see how he made it "their" appointment

Rolling her shoulders Melanie groaned in pain again yet this time placing her hand directly on her right breast. It was tender and her best bet was that she had slept on one and now was suffering for it. Massaging it slowly she pushed open the bathroom door. Flipping the switch on, Melanie laughed a bit at the pink cup that held her tooth brush and toothpaste. King demanded that Melanie have her own little section in the apartment for when she stayed over.

Melanie truly appreciated King. Out of all the guys she dated he was the only one that treated her like she was a human. And when she said "a human" she meant it. Every guy she got with she gave them her all even the clothes off her back, and yet they gave her nothing. Treated her as if she was nobody, belittled her, disrespected her, and used her. But then came King one day at the right time.

In a way Melanie was happy that day he knocked her laptop down. It was the day he tore down all that hurt she had been through. Although she thought King had messed up with the whole Nikki situation a part of her didn't want to let him go. And now she was welcoming a child with him. She had finally went from pain to joy.

Finishing up her quick morning routine Melanie headed into the kitchen. Tapping her Apple Watch  Melanie read the time 8:45 out loud. King and her needed to be on the road for at least 9:20 since King lived a bit far. Soothing her breast Melanie grabbed two bowls and placed them on the counter. For some reason Cheerios & Lucky Charms sounded delicious right now. But with it being Melanie of course she didn't want the two cereals touching each other.

Pouring the cereals into their separate bowls Melanie soon heard the toilet flushing and water running. She already knew King had sensed that she wasn't there anymore and had came to find her. Giggling a bit she turned the light off and proceeded into the living room. Sitting on the couch Indian style she placed both bowls in her lap, turned the television on, and got to work.

Surfing through the channels Melanie took a handful of Lucky Charms and gobbled them down. The only reason she liked the cereal was for the marshmallows. Deciding on a random channel Melanie smacked her lips as she remembered that she had left her phone in the room. Shrugging her shoulders she continued to eat her cereal.

Suddenly appearing from the dark hallway King stood there with his eyes low. His white t-shirt wrinkled against his skin. His boxers could be seen through the space between his shirt and sweats as he stretched. She watched in admiration as he made his way over to her.

Leaning down King took her chin , lifted it up, and planted soft kisses on her lips. "Good morning baby." He greeted as he pulled away.

"Good morning." Melanie answered with the biggest smile on her face. As if the kisses he gave her a second ago weren't enough she wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him down. Slowly kissing his bottom lip Melanie decided to stop teasing and give him his smooches that he wanted.

Grabbing her hips King pulled Melanie away before laughing. "Can I at least check on my first baby before we make another one." He joked giving her a kiss on the cheek before heading into the kitchen.

"I think after labor you have to wait six weeks so if you want we can work on Kingston Jr." Melanie mentioned giving him a flirty wink.

"And what makes you so confident that we're having a girl first?" He asked as he poured hisself a bowl of cereal also. Unlike Melanie he enjoyed his with milk like a normal person.

"I always said if I ever got pregnant I wanted my first child to be a girl. I've got the pregnant part down thanks to you. So now I just have to hope for a girl." She joked continuing her feast of cereal.

"I didn't think my soldiers shoot that quick. The baby got here quicker than my Amazon packet." King added pulling out his phone. He had ordered some new blazes that he wanted to test out but despite Amazon saying it would arrive Wednesday it still seemed so far away.

"King you need to stop!" Melanie laughed shaking her head as King joined along side of her. She noticed he had his normal bowl of Cheerios. It was odd to see a young person enjoy Cheerios as much King did.

"I'm just being honest Mel I know you wondered the same." He suggested kicking his feet up on the coffee table before taking a huge spoonful.

"Not really. For some reason I always thought I would be dramatic and fall out but for some reason I'm just ready for our journey." She admitted looking over at King.

"I feel like it hasn't hit us yet that we're going to be parents. If I being honest I think the whole situation with Nikki put a damper on it. I felt like the lowest piece of crap when I seen your pregnancy test. Felt like I betrayed you." King confessed rolling his eyes at just the thought of her.

Placing her hand on King's thigh Melanie swallowed her food before she spoke. "I see where your coming from but I look at it as this. You can't spend your time focusing on the negative because in the end you've wasted all your good time. We deal with Nikki when we have too other than that she's irreverent. We're about to welcome a child into the world and I want us to enjoy every second of it. Okay?" Melanie said starring into his eyes.

Rubbing his hand across her stomach he shook his head in agreement. He was going to block out every negative thought and only focus on his family.

Melanie and my child are the only thing that's on my mind, he thought to hisself before a loud alarm with off in his pocket. Digging for it King pulled out his phone and looked at the alarm that read
Get Dressed.

"Baby it's nine o'clock it's time to get dressed." King announced taking a few more bites of his cereal before rushing off into the kitchen.

"King did you set alarm for us to get dressed?" Melanie wondered holding back her laughter. She couldn't catch a break with that man.

"Yes because if it was up to you we'll be leaving at nine fifty-five knowing the doctor's office is twenty minutes away." King answered truthfully. Melanie was always the late but somehow on time person. If something started at three no matter the distance she wouldn't wake up til two o'clock, get dressed at two-forty, and leave at two-fifty. Yet make it there before three-ten.

"All doctors make you wait a good fifteen minutes before they see you anyways. So your always on time when it comes to the doctor." She protested taking a few more bites.

"Your on time to everything in your head even if you arrive there when it's over."

"No I don't." Melanie corrected him.

"Come on baby we have to get ready!" King repeated as he made his way back to his room.

"But I'm not done." Melanie whined poking out her lip as if King could see it.

"We can take it go Mel."

"Okay." She agreed placing her bowls on the coffee table before joining King in the room.

"Mel we're going to be late because you can't decide which purse you want to wear." King mumbled as he sat on the edge of the bed watching Melanie choose which purse to wear.

"Baby you know I like look decent no matter where I go. And you of all people shouldn't talk. You look like you walk off a runway everyday." Melanie reminded him as she really tried to decide wether the orange or black purse would go.

"Yes I take pride in looking good just as much as you do." He protested as he grabbed Melanie from the back and pulled her in front of him. She was to busy looking at herself to even notice that King had moved her.

I knew getting her that mirror was a bad idea, he thought to hisself as he shook his head. But he couldn't help but to just smile at Mel at times. He loved everything about her.

"Okay well just tell me which one. Orange or black?"

King pushed Melanie out a bit as he examined her outfit. She wore a black shirt with white writing on the back, that she paired with medium washed denim jeans, and Shattered Board Air Jordan 1 Mid. To him the orange purse would bring more attention to the orange shoes. Rather than the black but honestly King was just ready to leave.

"Orange." He answered immediately standing up and grabbing the purse from her. "Grab your cereal and let's go." He demanded giving Melanie a big fake smile as he looked over at the clock that read "9:35".

Listening Melanie grabbed her old purse and followed behind King as she sped walk down the hallway. Grabbing the cereal bowls Melanie stacked one on top of the other as King held the door open. Walking out she started to make her way down the stairs as King locked up. Following shortly behind her King hurried down the stairs and too his car.

Unlocking it he made sure Melanie got in first before heading to his side and hopping in. Closing the door behind him King fired up the engine as he placed his seatbelt across him.

"Babe don't get mad but I think I lost my phone. I haven't seen it since I woke up this morning." Melanie worried hurrying and checking through her old purse before she transferred it.

"It's been with me the whole time Mel." King answered pulling her phone out of his front pocket.

"King why didn't you tell me. You had me thinking I lost it." She replied grabbing it from him. She had basically been out of a phone the whole morning.

"When you woke up I seen you had forgot if so I kept it with me for these exact same reasons." He mentioned raising one of his eyebrows at her.

Placing the car in reverse King placed one hand behind Melanie's seat as he eased out slowly. Quickly placing it in drive King made his way out of the parking lot and into the road within a few seconds. Melanie made sure her seatbelt was on tight because King didn't know how to act with his Camaro sometimes.

"Are you good Mel?" King asked as he waited for her to get out of the car. He was too busy fixing a few little outfit malfunctions before heading in.

"Yeah I'm fine I just needed to get a few things out before I closed this new purse." She answered stepping out the car and dusting away the few crumbs she had on her.

"Did you finish that water bottle?" He inquired scrunching his eyebrows together. King knew Melanie wasn't the best water drinker but like the lady told her she needed to drink enough water but not too much.

"Yes King I only drunk half of it though because my stomach felt too bloated and I didn't want to over do it." She informed in showing him the water bottle in her purse. The only reason King knew anything was because he literally had his ear glued to Melanie's phone when the woman called for her appointment.

"Okay just checking. You know I just want you to be okay." He reassured her signaling for her to lead the way.

"I understand."

Leading the way Melanie was soon hit with a buch of mixed emotions. Mostly fear and excitement too which was to come. She silently prayed everything would simply be okay King pulled the door open from behind her. Scanning the room Melanie noticed there was only one other woman in the waiting room. She was a beautiful black women with the prettiest fro she had ever seen. She had her reddish hair compact into a tiny fro with two curls hanging from each side. A white man sat beside her as he helped sign the paper work with her. They both seemed to be around their twenties and made a lovely couple.

Walking up to the counter the front desk woman immediately greeted King and Melanie. "Good morning how may I have help you?" She asked with a country accent, but she loved it as she smiled back.

"Good morning. I have an appointment for Melanie Spears." She answered noticing the other women handling paperwork in the back all while managing a phone call.

"Okay. And can I go ahead and get your birthday for me sweetheart?" She asked typing a few words into her computer.

"04.19.1999"

"Alright and what's a working email that you can give me?" She asked scribbling down something on a sticky note.

"[email protected]."

"Okay darling I got you all in the system. Can you go ahead and fill out these few forms for me. There just asking you some basic information that we need to know. And just sign wherever you see an x for me." She instructed handing Melanie a pink clipboard and a pen before giving them a warm smile.

Melanie found a seat across from the couple before King soon came along. Plopping her purse down next to her she began to read over the paperwork.

"Just let me know when you need my information." King added trying to get a glimpse of the papers.

"King I'm pretty sure there isn't anything they need from you but I'll be sure to let you know." Melanie giggled with a grin as she pushed her hair behind her ear.

After filling out the paperwork with the help of King of course Melanie handed them back to the front desk worker. She checked to see if the lines were marked as she had asked before placing them to the side.

"Alright hun your going to go ahead and follow Ms.Karrie." She informed her as the white door swung open revealing Ms.Karrie. Melanie turned around and motioned for King to follow her as she entered the door.

"Hi Ms.Spears I'm going to go ahead and ask you to follow me into this room while you wait for her in the room just straight across sir."

Shaking his head up and down King motioned for Melanie's purse. He would hold it while she handled whatever needed to be done. Handing over her purse Melanie watched as King was placed into a room and shut in.

"Right this way." Ms.Karrie instructed pointing to what seemed to be a bathroom. Reaching into her pocket on her scrubs she pulled out a urine sample cup and a Sharpie. Writing what seemed to be Melanie's name she handed it to her. "We're going to go ahead and get a sample from you Ms.Spears and then after that check your blood pressure. And you can join your boyfriend in room before Dr.Carter comes in. Is that okay?" She continued.

"Sounds great." Melanie said giving a her a thumbs up.

Stepping into the bathroom Melanie shut the door behind her. Thank God she had drunk enough water because it was time for it to work it's magic. Melanie always dreaded doing urine samples. She found them to be so weird but she knew that sometimes this was a doctor's way of finding out things they needed to know.

Finishing up Melanie tightened the cap before wiping the outside of the cup. Placing it down on the counter she made sure to lather up her hands before placing them underneath the warm water. After drying her hands Melanie made sure to place a paper towel underneath just incase any spillage happened. Opening the door Melanie looked around for Ms.Karrie before finding her off in what seemed to be a storage room.

"Thank you." She said while grabbing the sample from Melanie's hand. "You can follow me."

Melanie obeyed as she began to lead them down another hallway but not before dropping Melanie's sample off to another worker. She was then led to a room with a chair, two arm pieces, and other medical things Melanie had no idea of what it could

"Alright you can go ahead and sit down for me. I'll go ahead and get your blood pressure and you can be on your way." She explained reassuring Melanie who thought she has to give blood.

Grabbing the small blood pressure wrap Ms.Karrie wrapped it around Melanie's arm before telling her to rest it. Pressing start she walked over to the other side to straighten up something while the machine continued to do it's job. Hearing it decompress she quickly ran over and checked the numbers. "110 over 77. Your pulse is a tad bit high but it's nothing to worry about. Okay your all done and ready for Dr.Carter. You can go ahead and go down this hall and turn right into that room. She will be in there shortly. We do ask that you go ahead and undress from the waist down. There is a gown provided on the counter for you and if you wish there is also a bathroom connected. If there is anything I can help you feel free to just peak the your head through and I'll assist you." She explained closing the blue folder as she finished her last scribble.

"No that'll be all." Melanie mentioned as she made her way down the hallway before turning right. Opening the door she found King sitting beside the bed with his head buried into his phone.

"Did everything go okay?" He asked picking his head up at the sudden sound of the door creaking open.

"Everything went fine. All they needed was my blood pressure reading and a urine sample. And right now I have to change into th-." Melanie paused grabbing the gown before continuing. "This and then we'll wait for Dr.Carter to come."

"Okay."

Walking past him Melanie made her way into the bathroom and shut the door. Flipping on the light she wasted no time changing into the gown. She figured she was too leave her jeans folded up on the counter until she returned. Turning off the light Melanie opened the door causing King to look up again.

"Awe Mel you look adorable. Hold on I need a picture so we can remember this." King cooed jokily as he pulled out his phone and snapped a quick picture.

"Your the reason for my headaches every morning." Melanie told him pointing her finger at him.

"I'm pretty sure it all those snacks you lay down and eat every night but who knows. Your the one going to medical school not me." King smartly corrected her.

Flipping him off Melanie gave him a devilish smirk before getting up on the bed provided. Locking his phone King focused his attention onto Melanie. He had been texting Dray about some shoes that were to release later this month and wanted to get the scoop before they sold out.

Suddenly a knock could be heard on the door before Dr.Carter could be seen coming through. She kept her hands in her coat as she made her way across the room. "Hi Ms.Spears and you must be Kingston?" She asked giving him a quick wave.

"Yes ma'am." He answered cheekily.

"So nice to meet the man of the hour." She joked moving a few things around. Connecting a few cords around she grabbed what Mel thought to be her charts or notes. "And Ms.Spears I just have a few questions to ask?"
