"You need to stop before you get yourself hurt." King told Melanie as she bit down on his bottom lip before kissing him again. They had remained in this position, of her sitting on top of him for about five minutes now. And unless Melanie wanted a child soon she needed to stop.

"And why should I?" Melanie asked smirking. She didn't know if it was the time of the moment or that King was finally hers, but Melanie was enjoying it.

If you know what she meant.

Laughing to hisself, King kissed her for the last time before asking her a question. "You know you really never answered my question?"

"What question?" Melanie wondered turning her lips to the side. She knew that she had answered the love you part so what else was there to answer.

Grabbing Mel by her hips he picked her up and placed her on the side of him. Now Mel back was to the couch where she could face him. Picking up her legs King placed them on his lap while leaning his head back on the cushioned part of the couch.

"There's no question." King responded picking at Melanie's tights.

"What the hell King." Melanie said laughing.

"I'm talking about the general question. Like are we official now? Are we telling our friends? What is step forward from here is what I mean" King questioned looking up from underneath his red hat he had on.

Looking up in the sky Melanie thought for a moment. One half of her felt like all this was just happening to fast. Like how one moment they were friends and now they were profound lovers. But the other half was jumping with joy already planning out their future.

She didn't know what it was but she always got this anxiety whenever she got in a relationship. Not only relationships but whenever she liked someone. She would feel as if the person was pressuring her into being with them and she was just being naive.

She tried to get rid of the voice in her head but it never worked. And unfortunately it was speaking to her right now. Telling her various things she couldn't help but agree with.

You don't need to be in a relationship!

Being tied down is not what you want to do...

Are you really going to trust this person with your heart? Who could break it at any moment?

If you stay single you wouldn't have to worry about any of that.

Those thoughts always roamed around in her head whenever Melanie felt attached to someone. Which was why she kept her distanced and never shared how she felt with King because she feared of this very moment.

The moment where she would scare herself right back out of love.

"Mel you good?" King asked with a concerned look. He wondered what was taking her so long to answer when just a couple seconds ago she couldn't get off him.

"How do you know somebody's the one for you." Melanie asked bringing her eyes down to meet King's. This was the question Melanie wondered about most of the time. How did someone truly know that someone was their soulmate.

"Huh?" King asked thinking he heard wrong. He was puzzled by her question a little bit but knew it had nothing to do with their situation.

"How do you know somebody's the one for you? Like your soulmate. Or not even that...just the person your suppose to be with?" Melanie asked again going a little more in depth with her question.

Now Mel had started to scare King a bit because it seemed like she had switched sides on him. Maybe he had messed up with asking her that question. Or maybe he should have just let her continue kissing all over him.

"Umm..I think that you just have to know. You'll know when you feel this certain way about a person. When all you do is think about them constantly. Whenever their name is said you can't help but smile. When you cherish this person as if they were the highest person ever. When you have no bad intentions what so ever." King explained starring down at his shoes as tried to shine some light on how he felt about her. "Then there's people who pray for their significant other and God sends them. It just really depends Mel."

Rolling her eyes Melanie shook her head. "That's not true. Everybody says that same lie and that's how people get tricked. There's no way you know If someone's the one for you because when you accept them you put your whole trust in them. Hoping that their the one that doesn't mess over you. Just like as we go through life we date and meet all these people. None of those people turn out to be your husband or wife so what was the point? If there is a such thing as the right one for everybody then there wouldn't be divorces, cheating, and breakups. Everyone would just be happy and that's not true. Because even when you think you found the one they have the possibility of messing over you."

Throwing his head back a little King was really starting to wonder was Melanie a tad bit crazy. "I see your point Mel but that's just how life is. You take a chance when you try love. Take the stereotypes of good and bad people. I believe everyone is good we just make some bad choices. Same thing with love. Some find the love of their life and never go through pain. Where's some go through pain to find their happiness. If everybody was destined to meet their soulmate in the beginning then how would you learn lessons."

"So your telling me I have to go through pain just to find my happiness?" Melanie said restating King response.

Placing his fingers at the bridge of his nose King took a deep breath in and then released. "Mel I really want to know what are you taking about". He said laughing a bit to hisself because she was starting to sound crazy to him. "Help me understand what's your point."

"I just believe that everybody is going to do you wrong at some point so why even trust them. Why would I get with a person and then three weeks they cheat on me. What was the point? I could have stayed to myself that whole time and would have never got played." Melanie reassured him trying to make him understand the point in what he was missing.

"So answer this Mel." King started. "Did Mariah ever do you wrong?" He asked making her see his point.

The room went silent once again proving Melanie wrong.

"Did Breylynn ever do you wrong?" He asked another question hoping he was making Melanie she that she was tripping.

"No." She replied lowly looking away.

"Your mama and grandma?"

"No." She answered again.

"Then what makes you think I won't do the same." He questioned grabbing her hand and interwinding them. "I been your best friend for four years! Out them four years have I ever turned my back on you. So as your man I'm going to do the same thing. Whatever them little boys did to you in the past is over with. The one guy who broke your heart don't matter no more. I'm here to fix all that."

Smiling Melanie rolled her eyes playfully. "Okay King."

"See that's your problem I'm not playing." King said grabbing Melanie by the chin. Pulling her close to him he stopped before their lips met. "I'm serious Mel when I say I love you."

"Wait!" Melanie said pulling her head out of King's grip.

"Melanie I'm about to go." King said getting up.

"No King stop!" Melanie shouted laughing as she reached for him. Luckily she was able to catch him by the waist. The thing she never noticed until she was actually wrapped up inside of King, was that he was way taller than her. She stood around 5'7 and King had a good two inches on her.

"What son cause I'm not about to keep doing this with you." He joked looking down at her as she hugged onto him.

"I'm giving you my trust okay which is something I don't do most often. I've been hurt in the past really bad so I'm not here for the games. So here's the rules baby boy. If you cheat I will loose it because I'm giving you a warning now just incase you don't want to do this." Melanie made notice as she gave him a straight face.

"As far as loosing it, what does that mean?" King teased a bit.

"It means if I sit up here and explain to you about my past and you do the same thing. Then I just may have to kill you." Melanie said shrugging her shoulders.

"Alright we'll see how far you get with that." King made known.

King had no intention what so ever of ever doing Melanie wrong because he knew how bad he wanted her. She was still his best friend and lover and that was something King wasn't trying to loose.
