You could have my heart
Or we could share it like the last slice

After having a mental break down in the bathroom I had finally finished getting dressed. I still wanted to go out there and rip Brelynn's and Mariah's heads off their tiny bodies and feed it to dogs. But I stopped myself and settled for just calling them a bunch of bitches. And what ate me up the most was how from time to time I could hear them and the guy talking. Conversing with each other like we had all been friends for years.

The nerve of them, I thought as I slipped my shirt over my head. I had no attentions of even stepping outside and facing him so I made Bre grab my clothes for me. Thank God she had a least some type of fashion sense and understood what I liked. It was light grey shirt paired with ripped dark denim jeans, and my old pair of wolf grey's. Shoes were the most important part of an outfit in my opinion but some people thought other wise.

Since rain was expected again I made sure I placed my hair in a pony tail before existing the bathroom. Scanning over the open space neither Bre or Mariah were at their desks giving me enough time to prepare myself. Most of the time people complained about my antisocial behaviors but it was truly something I embraced. Majority of my life was spent to myself with the exception of a few friends that I had.

My mother said she always noticed how I would keep myself occupied and didn't need things to entertain me. Or how I would play alone. For the longest she and my doctor thought it was Autism but it was just simply me loving to be to myself. I've never really liked talking to other people or being in big crowds so fitting in was a challenge. It was something I tried to work on but I guess I never grew out of it. Maybe it was something I'll fix one day but until then I would remain awkward.

I kind of like it that way.

Knowing that they could see me I slowly appeared from behind the wall and into the opening of the door. All conversations had deceased and all eyes were on me now. It was so quiet I thought I heard a pin drop near by. Both Mariah and Bre wore smiles plastered across their face while the guy never let his eyes leave me. Feeling uncomfortable I started to break the silence, but he had beaten me to it.

"You ready ?" He asked hopping off the bean bag that they had provided for him to sit on. Pulling up his slightly sagged pants he reached into his pocket and pulled out a silver key. Connected to it was a football and a few other keys.

"And who said I was going with you?" I asked grabbing my jacket off my bed. When Brelynn prepared my clothes for me I made sure to ask her to pull out a jacket. The last thing I needed was for another jacket to get ruined.

Stopping in his tracks he turned around before he could fully exist. I leaned against the edge of my bed with my arms folded while Mariah and Bre sat on their beds smirking. They were watching us like an episode of Muary and they were enjoying it.

"I mean your friends did kind of say that you were taking me up on my offer." He implied pointing between Mariah and Bre who sneakered like a bunch of school girls. I quickly shot them a death glare causing them to immediately hush.

"I wish you would stop trying to act all hard and stuff like we weren't just talking about you needing to find somebody. Well he's somebody and he found you so there you go." Breylynn said holding out her hands as if she was presenting something. Every since my past relationship four years ago Maria and Bre have this fantasy of me meeting this perfect guy. But I knew them like a book. All they wanted me to do was get a boyfriend so they could get nieces and nephews to spoil.

They made it a constant reminder that I would be the first to get pregnant and have their chocolate nieces and nephews.

My cheeks had now turned red despite my deep complexion. Hearing laughter I looked up to the stranger who was sharing a laugh with them. If he could read minds he would have known the slap I wanted to send straight to his face right about now.

"Can you not discuss my personal business with some dude I don't even know." I defended myself now searching through the dressers of my desk.

"Why are you even doing the most? There's a cute boy wanting to fix your computer for free. Not to mention he got you another day on your assignment. Solo cállate y ve !" She said letting her Spanish accident take over as she raised her hands up in frustration. Whenever we pissed Mariah off or did something dumb she loved to speak her natural language knowing that we didn't understand it.

I guess three years of Spanish class didn't help

"Cállate means quiet so I'm pretty sure she told you to shut up." Brelynn mentioned causing everyone to laugh at her.

"Just listen to your friends. Plus we don't have all day it's already eight and your papers due by twelve." He pointed out as he clicked his phone causing the bright light to shine against his melanin skin.

"I'm following after you. We get my computer fixed and then you leave me alone like I asked." I told him as I brushed past him remembering I left by keys at Mariah's desk.

"Fine by me."

"Have fun!" Bre called out.

I secretly flipped her off as I grabbed my keys out of the cup that was holding them. He traveled behind me before stopping and thanking Mariah and Bre for letting him in.

"Diviértete Niños !" Mariah said cheerfully as she pushed us out the door. The door slammed shut and was followed by the sound of a lock. It was now only the stranger and I cramped inside the hallway of ESU. Neither one of us said anything as we waited for one of us to do something.

"Like you said we're wasting time." And with that I made my way down the stairs with him following right after me.

Lord I couldn't wait till this day was over. I just wanted my laptop back.

Thirty minutes later my black Honda Accord pulled into the empty parking space next to his black Camaro. Considering he drove like a bat out of hell I was surprise that we had made it here in one piece. And not on the news for a high speed chase. Wasting no time that we didn't have to spare, we entered Office Depo. The sound of the sliding silver doors came to an end once we walked a few distance from them. Office Depo wasn't a place I to much spent my time so I was pretty amazed at how they offered various selection.

There were private sections for anything you could think of. From the simplest thing like a pencil or even paper. Realizing I got distracted by the big store I jogged up a little bit to catch up with the guy who made turns and cuts. As if he had knew the store like the back of his hand. Walking up to what seemed to be the electronic section we were greeted by a man.

"Hi welcome to Office Depo, how can I help you?" His greeting sounded rehearsed as if he had been saying it for years. And from his looks he seemed to be only around his early twenties.

"Hey umm..I accidentally dropped my friends computer in the water yesterday and now it's glitched out and won't work." He explained setting the laptop on the counter before opening it up. Right before Mariah could fully kick us out I remembered that my laptop was still on my bed where it laid next to my jacket which I had.

Wait! Did he just call me his friend?

"I'm not your friend. We're complete strangers." I corrected him giving him the stalest face I could give. I only had two friends and they were currently back at the school. "He's just a person who needs to watch where's he going next time."

"Look I'm not about to keep apologizing for something we already covered. I'm doing you a favor-." I had to cut him off before he could even finish his sentence.

"You not doing me shit. I didn't ask you to do any of-."

"Okay ma'am and sir please there's no need to argue. Let me have a look at it and once I find out the problem we can talk." The man said breaking up our argument. We were both looking at each other with scrunched up faces as we both agreed and proceeded to leave.

This was going to be a long day...

What seemed to be a "look" turned into a damn search party to figure out what was wrong with my laptop. But like I expected or like Jerald-the electronic man- explained my laptop was completely broke. The fall of it caused damage to the inside of it and to the screen. Which from there caused the colorful glitching screen to appear. Luckily he was still able to pull up some of my files I had and a few other important stuff, but still my essay was no where to be found.

On the other hand the files that he did save were uploaded onto my new computer that was purchased. When I seen the price appear on the small screen I damn near put the thing back myself , but he insisted that he pay for it.

He did break it after all.

After ringing us up Jerald lectured us more than telling us about the huge clearance sale they would have in a few days. Many locations that weren't meeting the criteria's of corporate eyes were being shut down, and this one was up next. Since I personally didn't shop here I tuned him out while he explained pointing out different things that would be marked down soon.

It would have been nice if he had told us that before we paid three hundred something dollars for this new computer.

Once Jerald stopped talking our ears off we left the store and headed straight back to the school. This time I decided to just go at my own paste and not follow after him. As a big tiger stood along beautiful blooming trees and flowers I had realized that we had reached the school. Killing the engine I made sure to be extra careful getting the laptop out the car.

"Please go the other way. We know what happened last time you passed by me." I said smartly locking my car behind me. He gave me a small giggle before walking on the other side of another car.

I shot Bre a quick text to open the door but all I got were a million questions. Telling her to hush I placed the laptop in her hands and told her to just place it on my bed. Thankfully she listened and I headed back down the stairs to be greeted with the stranger again.

"The towns library isn't that far from the school we could walk or follow after each other again." I asked nonchalantly as I secretly rolled my eyes. In general I just wanted to get this paper written and for things to go back to normal. And that would be not knowing him.

"It's whatever you want to do. But you might want to think quick cause it's ten o'clock." He mentioned sinking his hands into his pockets. The one thing I was starting to hate about him was his sarcasticness and some what of a smart mouth. Usually whenever I got smart with someone they just took it but he was different.

"I guess we're walking today." I said giving him a fake smile in which he returned. Taking a deep breathe and exhaling I started to lead the way.

We had reached the public library around eleven and made our way over to the computers. With the exemption of him wanting to stop by Burger King and eat we would have promptly arrived at ten thirty. But I guess my Whopper was worth it.

Pulling out our chairs we sat down and keyed our logins in. Students of ESU were able to use their school library cards as a regular library card. Since most of the time something was wrong with our library. Which explained why every row of the adult section of the library were filled with East Side University students at this moment.

Letting Microsoft load I finally pulled out my phone for what seemed like the first time and scrolled through my missed notifications. Which weren't much but a few social media alerts and Mariah and Bre questions they wanted answered. Clicking through my apps I found my notes section and scrolled till I seen last weeks date. When Ms.Frontier assigned this paper Friday afternoon I immediately started on it. She was one of those classes where you just had to get it done.

The assignment was five pages and out of that I had one saved in my notes. With four more down to go my hands moved miraculously against the keyboard. My stranger had agreed to help me out in typing up some parts of my essay. At a desperate moment like this I could have only hoped that what he wrote would pass me.

Unlike me , he moved kinda slow which caused me to look at him a couple times. But time after time he reassured me that he had this. I was starting to think whether he took her for summer school or summer classes ?

Two pages in I noticed that he had stopped and had now had two fresh hot printed papers beside him. He had taken his full attention off the screen and devoted it to starring a hole into the side of my face.

"King."

Slowly turning my head around I looked at him as if he was stupid. "What?" I asked.

"Well considering that I'm helping a complete stranger out I thought it would at least be nice to know each other names. I'm King." He said introducing hisself as he held his hand out. It had never dawned on me till now that we had never exchanged names.

Never letting my hands leave the keyboard I looked at his hand and back at the screen. "I thought you were post to be helping me not distracting me."

"Its not my fault your getting distracted." He said winking at me.

Now my hands had moved from the keyboard and to my face as I tried to conceal the laugh that dared to escape. Getting kick out was something I didn't need right now. "You must be feeling yourself. Trust me I wouldn't want you if you were the last slice of pizza in the box." I said looking over at him to only have his brown eyes catch mines holding them as if we were in a trance.

A smirk appeared across his face before laughing. "Even then you could have it." He spoke softly below a whisper.

Playfully rolling my eyes I spoke. "Thankfully I don't eat pizza." I heard him smack his lips before ruffling in his pocket for some change and heading to the vending machine.

Finishing my essay exactly at twelve was a relief on top of a relief. King-now that I knew his name-offered to drop my essay off to Ms.Frontier since one of his biology classes were that way. I didn't put up a fight or even get sassy with him. I just simply handed him the papers, told him thanks for both the computer and his help, and left. But something felt strange when we parted ways. It was like both of us wanted to say something but couldn't. To be honest I almost didn't want to leave but in King words he said that this wasn't good bye but an only see you later.

Was it wrong that I didn't want the good bye or the see you later to happen. I just wanted to be there. Me and him. My meanness angering him. His smart comments and my defeats to back them up. In less than forty eight hours I had met somebody that I didn't want to be insuperable from.
