A couple days later......

Time seem to slow down now that Melanie wasn't with King. She found herself sometimes thinking about the memories. The good and the bad but it was the memories she was holding on too. As bad as Mel wanted to put on this hard act for herself she constantly battled with her heart. Her mind was telling her to forget him but her heart ached because she loved him.

It kind of reminded her of her heartbreak when she was young. How she spent hours crying until she woke up with a headache the next day. She vowed never to react over someone like that again but she was remembering the numbness of her heat that day. It felt like her heart had shattered into a million pieces and she couldn't find them.

But she had held up her part of the bargain. She didn't dare cry about it or play any sad songs that would help. In fact everyday she tried to tell herself that things would get better. And she believed it she just didn't see how things could.

At least she had some amazing friends to help her get through this. Breylynn and Mariah made sure to talk to her everyday and not to mention King's name. And she respected how Deezy and Dray did the same. Not so much of the checking in part. Which she didn't expect because their jobs took up most of their day. But she enjoyed her daily laughs out of them.

Despite it being wrong Melanie wondered how King felt right now. Was guilt eating at him like a tape worm? Or was the heartbreak to unbearable for him that he constantly thought about her? All she really wanted was for him to understand her hurt and they move on. But everybody has to learn their lesson.

And no Melanie wasn't putting all the blame on him but she knew for sure she didn't do anything wrong. She never once entertained Drémon. When he was texting her phone it was always him trying to get back with her. And she let him know despite having a boyfriend she wouldn't want him back. So before anybody tried to run their mouth saying that she needed to evaluate herself and her actions. She let her ex know what it was from the jump he just decided to stick around.

Something she wished King had done.

But she was done pointing the fingers at everyone. She just really yearned for things to get better and for her to move on. Honestly if this was the end of King and her then she would be content. Their relationship and friendship was something she enjoyed, and wouldn't take away from them.

Reaching over the arm rest Melanie unplugged her phone from its charger. Yanking the charger from out the wall she placed it on the couch before looking at her phone. She had a couple missed emails, text, and Instagram notifications but one stuck out to her.

[mmelaniee._] nikshore just posted a photo for the first time in awhile.

Rolling her eyes Melanie decided to take a peek. Matter of fact Melanie didn't remember that she followed Nikki back after that day, but Instagram was proving her wrong. Logging into her phone Melanie presses the Instagram icon and waited for everything to refresh.

_prettyky Oh my god! Congrats bae 😘😘

"Wow she's pregnant!" Melanie screamed as she clicked to view the comment. Scrolling through each one she tried to see if this was some type of joke. But every comment said congrats and how they suspected something.

Her mind started racing and she felt her blood starting to race too. Her mind flooded with the possibilities she could do right now. She wanted to drive over to King's house and set the whole damn thing on fire. And on the other hand she wanted to slap fire from Nikki's pregnant ass. But she had to calm down.

Immediately screen-shoting the picture Melanie saved it to her photos and existed of the app. Pushing the blanket off her she stood up and walked into the kitchen. As bad as she wanted to take a nap and also eat Melanie's anger wouldn't let her. Clicking the messaging app she scrolled a little until she found the group chat. Sending the picture Melanie locked the phone.

She didn't know where this sudden hunger came from but it needed to go away. One day she wanted to eat through the house and then the next moment she was dozing off on her Netflix shows. But Melanie had to understand that for one she wasn't eating healthy and she was probably sleep deprived. So thats probably why her body was acting so weird. A couple hours of sleep and maybe a few healthy opinions would shake her back.

Pulling out the milk from the fridge Melanie felt her phone vibrating. Already knowing who it was she shut the fridge, place the milk down, and headed back to the couch.

Will you stop !! 😂

As bad as Melanie wanted to laugh at Mariah and Breylynn right now she needed to be serious. This right here determined if she didn't go freaking crazy on everybody. Existing out the app Melanie double clicked her home button, and re-clicked on Instagram. Nikki post had been buried in the old news feed meaning she had to search her. Typing in her name Nikki's account pulled up and Melanie instantly clicked the picture again. Her likes had went up and a couple more comments were added but that wasn't the worry.

Melanie followed Breylynn's advice. Melanie knew Nikki too and she understood how petty she was. But instead of going over board what if she was really trying to put a message out there without being direct with her. Shaking her thoughts Melanie clicked her profile picture. The same picture she posted to her page was on her story. Skipping through she watched as she reposted other people's congratulations. And then she stopped on the last slide. It was a picture of Nikki and some guy. It looked like an old picture based on Nikki's hairstyle.

The guy had his arms wrapped around Nikki who shouldn't have worn that cheetah print dress. The captions on the side read: The Shores 💋. We did it with Trey and we'll do again with this one. I love you so much.

As much as Melanie wanted to used that as assurance she didn't trust Nikki. And she knew she didn't trust King now. So in reality Nikki was the only one who held the true answers. Blowing out a breath of frustration Melanie existed off the app and locked her phone.

"Lord I swear if this boy got her pregnant!" Melanie whispered underneath gritted teeth. She knew she had made a lot of promises that she didn't keep but this one right here was different. She swore on anything that if this child was for King she was going to go off. And she wasn't talking about words. It was hands now because she was tired of being played with.

Her feet wanted to march right over to King's place, barged in, and scream did you get her pregnant. But every time she tried to put two and two together she was reminded of his words. And after that I can't remember.

How could you not remember fucking her King!? She thought to herself as she traveled down the hallway and into her room. It was something she couldn't think about right now. She had to go to work in less than and hour and she needed to get ready. Ignoring her thoughts Melanie began to pull out her scrubs. She had a long day ahead of her and all she really looked forward to was coming home and going to sleep.

"You finally did it. That's something you should be proud of." Dray acknowledged as he shrugged his shoulders.

He was currently on FaceTime with King as he drove to go pick up Asia. It was the weekend and she had been complaining how she missed him. But Dray knew she just wanted to be up under him. Which was something he wasn't going to complain about.

"You want me to be proud that I lost my girl?" King asked confused. He didn't understand how he wasn't suppose to feel like shit right now. He missed Melanie every second. Just the simple things that people probably took her granted. Like her laugh, her smile, just the simplest things she did.

King couldn't lie his heart was aching and he was okay with that. He wasn't one of those men who hide their emotions just because they wanted to remain cool around their friend. Hell no. If King wanted to cry about loosing Melanie well then Dray and Deezy were in for a show.

Now despite it being to late Nikki was blocked. He made sure to block her on social media too just to be clear of her. He wanted no contact with this girl anymore. She had did more damage to him in a matter of months than she did when they were younger.

King was determined to get Melanie back no matter what. His first step was getting rid of Nikki in which he had already completed. The next step was actually trying to talk to Melanie and tell her the truth. But he knew that was something that she wasn't going to be up for. He wanted to start from the beginning and just tell her it all and after that promise to never lie to her again.

Sure she's going to have a easy job trusting me, King thought as he shook his head. But it was the truth. He was done lying about something that could have been addressed in the beginning. And he wasn't putting any of the blame on Mel. But he needed her to know that he didn't do anything with Nikki. Even though he couldn't remember one thing about that night. His soul was telling him that he was right.

He just needed to prove that to Melanie.

"Yes you lost her because you couldn't keep it one hundred with her and now you got to suffer. Which is something you need to do. Learn your wrongs and then go back to her." He explained keeping his eyes glued on the road.

King had became a little annoyed with Dray and Deezy and along with everybody else constantly telling him that. Yes, he understood he messed up but he was done with that. His mission right now was getting Melanie back. For good.

"I learned my wrong b. I just want her back now." King said grabbing his car keys off the coffee table. He had to be to the shop in a little bit but decided he wanted some breakfast real quick. Luckily there was a Waffle House just passed the shop that he could stop at.

"You can't move like that King. Heartbreak takes some time. And getting your shit together takes some time too. So that's how I know you still ain't learn your lesson."

"How?" King wondered twisting his lip up at Dray. King clearly understood what he did wrong and was taking Melanie feelings into complete consideration.

"You'll know when you learned your lesson." Dray answered. "But look I'll hit you up later I just made it to Asia place." Dray said cutting off the engine.

"Alright."

Ending the call King locked his front door and headed down the stairs. But Dray words stuck with him. Did he really learn his lesson? And when would he know. Shaking his thoughts King walked over to his car, unlocked the doors, and hopped in.

Damn I miss you Mel.
