The next day both Melanie and King woke up with more excitement than they had ever felt. People would probably say they were doing to much but to finally be with the person you've be wanting is the best feeling in the world. Not only that but to date your best friend at that just gave them both peace.

But real question was, what was next? The two love birds couldn't wrap their heads around how to stitch from hiding their love for each other to actually expressing it freely. They were like two kids that liked each other and couldn't stop laughing and smiling at the thought of it.

But they knew that their friends would be there to help them transition perfectly. They planned on getting everybody together and telling them like that but it seemed like today was everybody's work day. Including Melanie and King. Meaning that they would have to tell them on their own time.

"What time you go to work?" King asked as he rubbed his favorite moisturizer through his hair. He was currently on FaceTime with Melanie as they both got dressed for work. Even though King didn't spend the night yesterday they still texted each other until Melanie eventually fell asleep.

"Hold on." Melanie said putting herself on pause. Clicking on her message app, she scrolled down until she seen the contact named Megan. Megan was one of Mel's many co-workers at Lake After Hours. Thankfully Melanie's aunt use to work there and was able to put in a good word for her before she left for Texas.

Looking over the schedule Melanie's scanned it until she seen her name. Coming back into the camera frame Mel answered his question. "Ten."

Checking his watch it was currently eight twenty eight and he needed to be to the field by nine. "Okay when you go on break?"

Melanie killed her self laughing causing King to smack his lips. "You know I go on break whenever I feel like it." Melanie explained wiping a fake tear from her eye from laughing so hard.

"That's sad." King implied shaking his head. "Well the boys finish with practice around three but I gotta' go the the shop with Mike today. Wanna meet me over there when your done with work?" King asked untying his shoes and then putting them on.

"You must miss me or something." Mel said giving King a funny smile causing her dimple to show.

"Mel I seen you last night plus I was on the phone with you the whole time. And now we're FaceTiming this morning. I think I've seen you enough not to miss you." King said turning up his lip at her which he knew would gain him a reaction from her.

Snacking her lips Mel proceeded to prove that his comment was a lie. "So who text me seven times this morning talking about get up beautiful." She implied again mocking King's voice.

Laughing to hisself King began to speak. "You know I said that one time! And that was it. I know your lazy self don't wake up till one o'clock unless you have something to do."

"I just want to see my girl that's it." King added rubbing the same moisturizer for his hair through his beard.

"Aww! We'll since you insist yeah I'll meet you over there around five. You still going to be there right?" Melanie asked scooting her make up mirror closer to her.

"Yeah cause Mike finishing the salon today so I can have that open next week. Plus Mike work a little slow so I'm going be there til probably ten." King said looking in the camera to make sure he looked decent.

"Alright."

"Alright I'm about to start leaving for work." King said grabbing his keys off his dresser.

Mel put herself back in the view If the camera only for King to see her with one eyebrow. "Don't even say nothing." Melanie warned him because she knew he would screenshot it and show Deon and Dray.

"I promise I won't." He sweared placing his hand on his chest. "But I love you Mel."

"Love you to King." She responded trying to blend out her eyebrow.

Hearing the end beep of the FaceTime call Melanie locked her phone and continued with her makeup. She wasn't trying to go for anything special but some brows, lashes, and lipgloss. She never understood how girls woke up and did their makeup everyday for school or work. Mel hope there were other girls who thought the same because her makeup skills didn't allow her to do that, and definitely not her skin.

Eastside Learning Academy High School
12:30 p.m.

"Run the play back Ty." King yelled at number ten who was one of Eastside's running back. This was his third time messing the play up that Wayne, another coach had given them.

"No call a break." Wayne suggested as he slapped King's arm. It still was taking King some time to adapt to his new surroundings so he couldn't help but look down at his arm while mugging Wayne.

Blowing his whistle the boys stopped in their foot tracks and looked over at them. "I'm calling a break about five minutes then back in positions. And Ty over here real quick." King announced moving his index finger back and forth.

The boys didn't waste any time throwing their helmets off and running towards the Gatorade. On the other hand Ty slowly took off his helmet and walked over to King.

"Mind if I step aside wifey's calling." Wayne said whipping out his flip phone. Wayne was a middle age white man with a thick southern accent that sounded like he sat on a plantation drinking tea. He was actually King's old coach in middle school and when the school was looking for another coach Wayne knew just who to call.

"Alright." King said brushing Wayne off as Ty approached him.

"I'm sorry coach. I'm trying my best." Ty explained still holding his head down.

"First pick your head up when speaking." King said sternly as Ty followed his directions. Ty was a quiet boy that attended the school. His grades were fairly good but his football skills were amazing. King understood that football were some of these kids way out, but he also pushed them to do good in school.
"Second don't apologize for mistakes because everybody ain't perfect. Your going to have days when you come out here and won't catch a ball but never apologize for it."

"Okay coach." Ty said shaking his head up and down.

"You good? You seem a little tired today." King worried as he sat down on a bench near by. Ty followed him and did the same resting his helmet on his lap.

"Yeah I kinda am. I had to pick up extra shifts down at the shop because moms got a second job. So I got to hurry and get a car so I can pick Karson up from school and all that." Ty explained twisting his lips to the side a little bit. Ty and his brother were the only two children of Sharan Smart, their mother. Their dad walked out on them when Ty was 10 and Kason was 7.

Their mother had to adapt to being a single mother now. So she started working two jobs to make up for the lost of income. The child support added a little bit but she used that for the children. But soon Sharan's second job would let her go due to going bankrupt. So she was down to one but luckily Ty turned 16, and was determined to help.

"How much you got saved?" King asked hoping he wasn't asking to many personal questions. He took favor in Ty for some reason probably because he seen hisself in him. But over all the kid was a good kid.

"Around six hundred but I may have to take some money out for school fees and other stuff." Ty said embarrassed. His mama taught him to never share his personal business about anything he was going through. But he trusted King.

"Man I'm really proud of you. I swear I see so many young boys turn to the streets and drugs, but to see you out here doing good in school, providing for your mama when she's in help, and taking up a skill. You almost put me to shame." King said joking pushing Ty. Ty laughed a little bit before looking back at the field.

"But look don't worry about school fee's I'm going to  go ahead and cover that. And when you and Kason need a ride somewhere let me know and I'll pick y'all up. But talk to mom's about that first because I don't want to step my boundaries." King said holding out his hand for a dap. But shockingly Ty hugged him instead.

King tried not to cry because he didn't want to draw attention to them but he hugged him back until Ty released him.

"Thank you coach I promise I'll pay you back and give you gas money." Ty said wiping his tears with his uniform. King pulled him back into a hug as he patted his back.

"You don't owe me nothing Ty but to do good in school and make something out yourself okay?" King reassured him. The last thing he would ever do is make Ty or his mama pay him back.

"Okay." Ty said shaking his head yes but his words were a little muffled due him and King hugging. "Now dry your tears."

Ty raised his head up and quickly dried his tears before he heard the boys coming back on the field. Placing back on his helmet Ty ran onto the field with the rest of the boys and reassumed their positions.

"Now run it back!" Wayne yelled bursting through the door of the boys locker room.

King shook his head as he blew his whistle.

I just want my girl, King thought.
