So, it is important for me to introduce the readers to a few Indian terminologies,
Bhai = brother,

Didi = sister,
Bhabhi = sister-in-law,
Jiju = brother-in-law, he is your sister's husband.

That's it as of now. Please forgive me if I don't mention their English synonyms again.

So, let's begin...

*_*_*_*
The people who add happiness to your life and take away the sorrows are called "Family". Mehek was blessed with a huge one at that.

She lived in a huge ancestral house with her grandparents and paternal uncle's family consisting of his wife, their children, Abhay bhai and Shraddha bhabhi; Renuka di who was now living with her husband and family, luckily in the same city and her parents along with her younger brother who was already married to his long time girlfriend Rhea.

Now since Mehek had such a huge family and many siblings/ cousins along with their better halves, she was teased to no ends.

They all had arranged a pajama party to celebrate her bachelor days as her date of marriage would be decided by the priest tomorrow. Mehek's room was the venue.

Everybody was dressed in pajamas and the room was decorated with fairy lights and the snacks were supplied at timely intervals. In short, it was an arrangement worth remembering.

They all started off with a game of truth and dare. The bottle spun once and landed on Shraddha bhabhi and Renuka di. Shraddha chose dare.

" You are a very shy person and that is the only way to make you do a dare." Renuka explained her dare, " I dare you to sit on Abhay's lap for the next two rounds and no funny business okay!"

Abhay who smiled at the initial part of dare, glared at his sister for limiting the dare. Nevertheless, he complied and his wife sat comfortably on him, though she blushed a lot!

The bottle was spun again and landed on Rhea and Mehek.

Rhea asked, " Truth or dare didi?"

" Umm, I don't have a partner here, so I will take dare." Mehek smiled and Rhea smirked at that.

" Oh god! What are you going to do Rhea! Please spare me!", Mehek pleaded.

" Didi, call jiju and talk with him for minimum two minutes on phone. You can't say it's a dare and no talks about work."

Mehek's eyes widened and she looked at others for help who only grinned in response.

" You had too much fun teasing all of us! Now it's our turn!", Shraddha said.

Mehek squeaked, " I don't have his number."

" What?", All of them exclaimed at once.

" Seriously, Mehek..", Renuka started.

" I didn't think of you as a shy one.", Shraddha said.

Abhay sighed and dictated the number to her.

She looked at the heaven in hopes of some kind of miracle and dialled his number.

The ring went through and she prayed he would not answer.

The phone was answered in fifth ring and her mouth went dry.

" Hello!", Jigar's voice was heard in the room.

" Umm Hi!"

" Hi, I was about to call you, you know..", he trailed off and Mehek's curiousity peeked at that.

" Oh, anything specific you wanted to talk about?"

" Yes, I was thinking we got off on the wrong foot and we should get to know each other better, since we will be spending our life together."

Mehek smiled at him, " I agree. You will be going back to Mumbai, right. Where and when do you suggest we meet?"

" Where is your domain, since it is your city. When is tomorrow since I'll be leaving tomorrow evening so, how about a lunch or a brunch?"

" That would be good. I have a place in mind, will text you the details, yes."

Jigar's smile widened and he said, " Yes, it works."

Mehek said, " Then, see you tomorrow."

" No wait! You called for something?", he enquired.

" Umm, I wanted to ask if your parents were okay after the meet today.", She came up with the first excuse.

" Really, you called for that?", Jigar asked.

" Yes, what did you think?"

"Nothing. They were cool about it. Nobody has any problem with your may I call them conditions.", He tried his best to clarify.

" Great then, see you tomorrow."

" Yes.", Jigar kept the phone down.

Mehek looked up and found mixed reactions, all the ladies were happy and bouncing in their seats while the gents wore a sad expression.

" What is wrong Bhai, jiju?"

" You came up with that excuse!", Her brother Viren said.

" Yes."

" It was terrible, he thought you wanted to speak with him, about him.", Jiju said.

" No wonder he was a bit disappointed.", Abhay completed.

Mehek looked at the females who nodded their head, forgetting their initial happy expressions and she sighed, " Guys, you continue, I'll be back in a while."

" No don't call now. It won't look good.", Rhea said.

" I won't be able to enjoy without clarifying, you know. Just let me be...", Mehek mumbled and got off the floor and stood in the balcony making sure to close the door.

She took a few breaths and then called him again.

" Hello? Did you forget to ask something?", Jigar queried.

" No... I actually wanted to talk to you, if you are not busy.", She said shyly.

Jigar sighed, " I had just laid down to sleep but then it's okay. I'm always available for you."

" No, it's fine. It's stupid. You should go back to sleep.", Mehek mumbled.

" Mehek, if it bothered you to call me back again. It was not stupid. I know it takes a lot of courage on your end, okay?"

" Okay...I thought you were disappointed when I stated my reason for the call which was nothing but the first excuse I could come up with..."

Jigar smiled, " Oh, I see. So why did you call? "

" Yes, actually, I don't want to lie and start a relationship. We all were playing truth and dare and Rhea dared me to call you."

Jigar laughed out at that and said, " It's fine, you know. I'm just happy you clarified it all and hope that someday, you call me on your own."

Mehek blushed and said, " I hope so too."

" Chalo then, I will see you tomorrow for brunch. Be ready at half past nine and please text me the place." ( Come on)

" Yes, yes. I'm texting you right away!"

He chuckled and bid her good night before cutting the call.

Mehek quickly texted him the address for the date and got back to her game.
