Marriage is the biggest commitment one can ever promise.

The Shah's bid goodbye and left for their hotel while the Patel's still sat in the drawing room discussing.

All the elders were sitting relieved that the function went well and Mehek's mother was talking to the priest.

" The priest agreed, he would be here tomorrow morning at ten.", She announced.

" Good, so Mehek, you will not flee to work. First decide all this and then go to work.", Her Grandmother instructed.

Renuka who was sat beside Mehek crackled up, " They really are pushing your limits!"

All the people who heard it were laughing now except for Baa ( grandmother) she glared at her elder granddaughter.

" Baa! You know this is true! Mehek can't tolerate so many people for so long and she has to attend back to back two gatherings!"

" Well, they might have been outsiders earlier but now, they are her family. And if she can't tolerate two back to back events what will happen during the wedding?"

Mehek gulped thinking of the amount of greetings she would have to do at her wedding. It was different when it came to patients, they talked about their problems and left while this is talking about nosy relatives! Ah, she could only imagine how mesmerizing the days would be, note the sarcasm.

" Baa, don't worry. I'll manage. As of tomorrow, I do have a Section early in the morning, seven o' clock, will be back till nine, at the most."

" Can't you postpone?", Sunita asked.

She looked at her father but he already was busy with some talks with her chachu ( uncle).

" Can't mom, it is Muhurat section ( Auspicious time). Muhurat is till nine, the baby would be born way before it."

Sunita sighed, " Well be here on time."

Mehek nodded, " Mom, I am going to sleep. You guys continue."

Sunita nodded and Mehek went upstairs.

She fell on the bed and looked at her finger. The ring was beautiful and completely described herself. Her thoughts went astray and she started thinking of her wedding. These people have decided to get the two of them married at a pace where they are not letting them deal with any other emotion apart from stress.

Mehek had met Jigar just ten days back, to her parents, seven days. And now she was engaged. Jigar's parents insisted to know about marriage and she is sure it would be within next two months, at the most. Mehek was unable to comprehend how to deal with these emotions.

She liked Jigar, but she had no time on how to deal with all these emotions. She would be leaving her family and living with them and her family is only bothered about her getting married at the moment.

Nobody talks to her about anything other than marriage or Jigar. It's like she wants this but is not given her space to recuperate from all these emotions.

Sighing she closed her eyes and tried to sleep. Sleep is the only way she can forget all the problems.

As the morning sun shined, Mehek was on her way to the hospital. The lady was well prepared and shifted to the Operation theatre while the anaesthetist was inducing the patient and Mehek entered.

She got washed ( it's washing your hands before operating the patient) and was ready with the scalpel ( knife). The baby would be out in next fifteen minutes.

The baby was delivered, it was a girl. The paediatrician took care of the baby and Mehek started suturing everything back.

The patient in her drowsy state asked, " Kya hua hai madam?" ( What is the sex of the baby?)

" Ladki" ( Girl)

The patient dejected, shed a few years, " Ladka chahiye tha madam, pehle bhi ek ladki hai!" ( We wanted a boy, earlier also we had a girl.)

Mehek frowned but continued her work while the anaesthetist sedated the patient to calm her down.

After wrapping up the section she went outside to meet the family. They were all sitting outside dejected as if somebody has died.

She called for the mother of the lady and gave instructions to take her care. The mother nodded.

" Madam, iske kitne din baad dobara pregnancy ke chances hai?" ( How long untill she can get pregnant again?)

Mehek's brows reached her hair line, she was horrified at how bold the mother-in-law was! Ofcourse during her training she had seen how narrow minded the people were but this, never ever did they question this as soon as the girl was born!

" Abhi nahi, dusra scissor hua hai. Teesra bhi scissor hi hoga aur agar itne jaldi pregnancy rahi to aakhri samay me bohot takleef hogi, bacche aur maa, dono ko!" ( Not now, this was second section. Third would also be section and if she gets pregnant now, there would be many complications.)

The mother-in-law started crying loudly and Mehek could not think about how harsh the life would be for the poor baby. She sighed and left from there. A doctor can only advise, never interfere in family matters.

She looked at the time and saw it was half past eight. She rushed home and freshened up to meet her future family.

She was sitting beside her father and asked, " Don't you think everything is moving so fast?"

" It is normal, beta."

" No, dad. It is like you all decide and I comply. Its been just ten days of knowing Jigar and I'm engaged. Then it would be a month, looking at your record pace and I'll be married! You guys are not giving me space to accept things. It's too fast a pace for my mind!"

Her father was just about to say something when his eyes fell on the Shah's who stood at the door. They heard everything, their expression said it all.

Hi guys, I wanted to clarify a spelling.

C-section also known as Scissors locally are spelled as Caesearian section, medically. But since people are familiar with Scissor whenever there would be a Hindi dialogue concerning this, Caesearian section would be spelled as Scissor.
