CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Aiden was fucking stressing. He was a nervous mess, fretting over what to wear and how to act and what to do and it was all just so fucking overwhelming.

The only information he had gotten out of Matias was that the male would be picking him up at seven thirty which was about an hour from now, not saying anything about the dress code.

Damn it.

Aiden was finding it hard to process the whole situation. Here he was, trying to find an appropriate outfit that he could wear on his date with Matias.

Date.

With Matias.

Honestly, if he was dreaming, someone better not try to pinch him because damn, was it a fucking good dream.

Just a few months ago, if someone had told Aiden that he would bump into a stranger who would soon because his neighbour, classmate and crush, he would have laughed in your fucking face, because let's be honest, this was no cheesy ass wattpad story.

But it seemed that the universe had other plans for him.

Groaning, Aiden just decided on his best pair of black jeans with rips, favourite pair of vans and a black woolen sweater that Nora had bought him a year ago which still managed to sit big on him because unfortunately, Aiden hadn't grown much throughout the years. Not that he was going to admit any of that out loud.

Nibbling on his bottom lip, he stared at his reflection, face flushed and heart beating terribly fast.

His hair had grown longer, blonde curls falling over his eyes which was continuously swept back by his hand. He should really consider getting it cut short, but a memory of Matias saying he liked Aiden's hair like this invaded his mind and any thoughts of cutting hair were long gone.

It was weird yet oddly comforting how Matias had become the only thing Aiden could think about.

Seriously.

He found it hard to think of anything other than the hot dude who stayed next door.

Another groan left Aiden's lips.

He was worried about fucking up. Afraid of saying some dumb embarassing shit that he would cry about in his late night self pity sessions for whenever he remembered dumb shit he did.

Try it. It's relieving.

A knock broke Aiden out of his thoughts, his heart about three seconds away from leaping out of his chest. He hadn't realized that time had passed so quickly.

There could only be one person at the door.

This was it.

Aiden grabbed his phone and keys before rushing down the stairs, taking a deep breath before opening the front door.

There he found Matias with his hands in his pocket and a close-lipped smile playing at his lips.

The two males made eye contact and just like that, everything and everyone around them became nothing but a blur.

It was becoming a constant thing for Aiden, getting lost in Matias' eyes that was. It was just something about those ocean blue orbs that lured him in.

"Hey" Matias breathed out, effectively breaking the invisible like barrier that his them from the rest of the world. "You look fucking amazing"

Aiden blushed, a chuckle emitting from his lips. "Thank you. You don't look too bad yourself" he took this as his opportunity to check Matias out.

He was in some black jeans aswell, accompanied with some hightops, a white hoodie and his signature leather jacket.

"Oh please" Matias rolled his gorgeous blue eyes, that all-too-familiar smirk playing at his full lips "you know I look hot"

Aiden scoffed, stepping onto the patio and locking the door behind him after making sure that all the lights were off and just like that, it was like how it always was.

Aiden wasn't sure why he stressing so much in the first place. He was still himself, and Matias was still Matìas and they were going out, maybe not as friends but romantically, but they were still them.

"We have a date to attend to, don't we?"

"Of course, your highness" Matìas bowed, jogging to the passenger side of his car and opening the door, staring at Aiden with a smile.

Aiden was sure his face would later feel the after effects of smiling so wide but he couldn't care less. Chuckling, he climbed into his seat "Way to prove to us that chivelry isn't dead after all" he teased playfully as Matias got seated next to him.

"I try my best" Matias smirked and turned on the ignition.

_______________

"Uh Matías. where are we?" Aiden's angelic voice broke the short silence which hung in the air as Matias turned off the ignition.

"well, Aiden, we're currently in the middle of a forest" the male sniffled, climbing out the car and walking to the blonde's side, opening the door with an raised brow.

"You sure we're not lost?"

"Nope" the 'p was popped.

"Are you really though?" Aiden narrowed his breathtakingly beautiful green eyes making Matias roll his own, his lips curved into a smile

"Yes, Aiden, I am. Now come on"

Aiden stuck his tongue out in a child-like manner before begrudgingly getting out of the car.

Shutting the door he grabbed the black backpack that was hidden in the back seat on the floor.

Aiden's eyes drifted to the bag, eyeing it weirdly "What you got there mister?"

"A bag" the male shrugged in response, throwing it over his shoulder.

"No shit sherlock" Aiden rolled his eyes, accompanied by soft mumbles that Matìas couldn't make out.

Matias laughed.

On the outside he may have seemed calm and collected but on the inside?

Yeah....safe to say he was fucking shitting bricks.

Seriously.

He had no fucking idea his heart rate could go from normal to fucking batshit crazy fast in less than five seconds.

But he covered it up with flirting and teasing as he tried to calm his fucking out-of-control, misbehaving heart.

Matìas grabbed hold of Aiden's hand, smiling at how soft and warm it was.

Just like Matìas anticipated it would be but at the same time...better.

He noticed how Aiden's hand fit so perfectly in his.

He was aware of how cheesy and sappy he was being at the moment but he literally couldn't give two fucking fucks.

Shaking his head to rid of his thoughts, he pulled Aiden along.

"Where are we going?" Aiden's voice filled his ears after a brief silence.

"Be patient"

"Be patient he says. I can be patient. I'm always patient" He muttered to himself with a huff making Matias chuckle slightly at how adorable he sounded.

He wasn't even aware of cute he was being. He never was. It was like Aiden did it without thought, being adorable without even meaning to.

Matias smiled when they finally got to the clearing after a few more minutes of walking and Aiden's too-soft-to-hear mumbling

"Uh Matías, are you sure you're not planning to kill me and dump my body behind some tree" Aiden's eyes scanned the area. His nervous voice made the taller male role his eyes

"Why do you always assume that I'm going to kill you? No, I'm not going to kill you Aiden. Not today anyway" Matìas teased making Aiden scoff

"We're here" they stopped and Matìas smiled softly, staring at the breathtaking view that he had come across a few weeks ago, instantly deciding share this place with Aiden, but he had never thought that this was going to be the place he would bring Aiden on, on their first date.

Aiden stepped out from behind Matìas, his emerald green eyes widening as he took in the scene before him, sporting him an alluring air of innocence

"It's beautiful isn't it" the taller male smiled, Aiden's reaction calming his nerves a bit.

He was worried that he was doing too little for this date, but time and time again Aiden had just slowly been proving his doubtful thoughts wrong by the adorable reactions he would be sporting.

He was just so fucking cute.

"Yeah it is" Aiden nodded his head, his eyes seemingly unable to remove themselves from the view before him.

"You really know how to pick 'em" Aiden chuckled referring to the gorgeous views that Matìas kept stumbling across.

A soft smile graced Matìas' lips as he stared down at Aiden.

He really did.
