CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Remaining calm and collected was something that Matias was always succeeding it.

Okay wait, that was a lie.

To say that he was horrible at keeping his emotions in check would be the understatement of the century.

Sure he might have the nonchalant facial expression which resembled one of a robot and murder always seemed to be on his mind but he genuinely was so so bad at trying to act cool.

Especially when he was around certain people.

And come on, we all knew who certain people was.

To think that just four months ago he was trying to convince himself that he saw Aidan as nothing but a close friend.

Yet, now, Aidan was like his world.

His light in the darkness and all that other cheesy, cringe-worthy shit.

Which was exactly why he decided that today would be the day that he would finally ask the male out on a date.

Commonly known as the d- word

And no he did not in any way mean dick.

He meant date.

There were many things Matias learnt about Aiden.

One prime example being that Aiden had little to no interest in anything fancy and hated wearing a tie with a burning passion so he naturally picked nice, relaxation filled, calm settings over formal settings where everything you did had to be done in a 'respectful' manner.

It was cute and Matias applauded the beautiful male for having such good taste.

That was not the point though.

The point was that Matias would be finally asking the question.

Usually, Matias would have had no problem with this if it was anyone else but the thing was, Aiden wasn't just anyone else, so he just had to make sure everything was perfect.

Mentally jotting down ideas, Matìas rushed to the house next door where his gorgeous male stayed. He knew that Aiden was not home as he had gone out to spend the day with that blue-haired chick who he admit, was cool, so that left him to speak with Asher privately without any interruption.

Knocking on the door to atleast make it known that he was there, Matìas pushed the door open after no response, figuring that Ash was probably in his room or some shit.

The two males had grown awfully close and Matias had to admit, he kind-of saw Ash as a big brother, if not a best friend, which was ironic since he had a literal more-than-a-crush on his little brother which succeeded in making this seem like some 'best friend's brother' gay romcom Wattpad book, had it not been that Matias met Aiden before he did his brother.

The wooden floor made a weird noise under his weight but he was too preoccupied with the task at hand to pay any attention to the sound.

Prepare the perfect date.

It was a short four worded sentence which continuously repeated itself in the male's mind and when he found Ash typing away on his phone, he smirked.

_______________

"so you're telling me that you finally grew the balls to ask him out?" eyes were rolled at the question which was answered more than five times before. if it was one thing Ash was good at beside Math and video games, it was being fucking annoying.

"I'm not repeating myself again you arsehole"

Ash pouted as he adjusted his position on his bed with dark blue sheets, a long forgotten book laid in his lap. "Sorry jeez. I'm just trying to process this new information"

An annoyed "whatever" was thrown back in response and though Matias would never admit it, he was feeling oddly, weirdly, uncharacteristically, horribly shy with discussing such a topic with Aiden's brother.

It was weird, he had never been put into such a situation before.

"Well" Ash began, placing the forgotten book onto his bedside table, staring at Matìas with a serious expression. "If you really want my help with this whole situation, I suggest you...."

Thirty minutes later Matìas found himself glaring at the fucking weather.

Why?

Because it had the fucking audacity to rain.

It may have-no it definitely just ruined Matias' plans.

fucking good for nothing, homophobic, fucking weather.

How homophobic managed to make its way into the sentence? No fucking clue.

But a voice at the back of the male's head screamed at him, telling him that this was not the end.

That Matias was naturally the type of person who always went with the flow and though that had not fit anywhere into this particular situation, Matias had just decided that it wouldn't matter what they ended up doing, as long as he was spending time with Aiden, everything else could go fuck itself.

_

______________

Matias ended up climbing up Aiden's balcony at three in the fucking morning and Aiden wondered sometimes if the male really was okay up in the head.

"You could've just used the door you know" Aiden hissed, quickly rushing Matias out of the rain.

"Too lazy" was the response which was accompanied with a shrug and the usual smirk.

Good god the things I do for this idiot.

"I wanted to ask you a question" Matias began, chuckling as he caught sight of a very dumbfounded face.

"Now of all times Matty? what the actual hell-

Matias interrupted "as I've said. it's really important"

"ugh" an eye roll was given in response "Fine, ask away" he waved a hand, throwing a dry towel Matias' way.

The male caught it with ease, smirking "Go out with me on a date. Tomorrow."

Aiden just barely managed to stop himself from choking on his spit.

A date?

Go on a date?

Go on a fucking date with Matias?

Matias a date go on with?

What the fuck.

"What. You...you like like me?" He sputtered

"Yes. I've liked for you a while. Which is why I'm asking you to go out with me on a date" Matias was calm as he chuckled, ruffling his damp hair with the towel he had received earlier

If he was drinking a bottle of water, he would have definitely choked on that shit because WHAT.

Did he just straight out, off the bat...confess??

What the fuck was happening right now!?

If this is a dream, someone-preferably Ash-had better not wake him.

Aiden gulped "well actually, it was more of a demand, you know? since you said to go out with you on a date and not asked if I could go out with you on a date therefore it was more of you saying to go on a date with you rather than you asking, y'know-"

It was obvious Aiden was caught off guard by the question. A huge question and confession like that could not just be said so...casually. Well atleast to Aiden, anyway.

Matias clicked his tongue, a smirk playing at his lips "Apologies. I, Matías, have insane feelings for you Aiden and with that being said, would you do me the honours of accompanying me on a date?"

Aiden almost rolled his eyes had he not been utterly speechless "are...are you serious?" Aidens eyes were wide, cheeks were heated and fingers were crossed as he hoped what he heard was correct.

"If I wasn't , I wouldn't have jumped on your balcony in the rain at
three in the morning"

"W-well"

He had a point

Aiden's heart was beating terribly fast in his chest, his cheeks were a dark shade of red and his eyes still wide. His hands fidgeted as he stumbled over his words, trying to make sense of himself.

"I'm going to have to need an answer, love" Matias chuckled making Aiden blink.

"Right. W-well-"
