Dear Grandma

A/N: I very recently found this poem about my paternal grandmother that I had written when I was 13. I wanted to share this one too. I've modified it a little and I hope you like it <3

I was looking through the pictures,
Me in your arms so small.
Those were gleeful times,
But I know you won't be back,
No matter how loud I call.

I remember that gloomy night,
When Ma woke me up and said.
'Wake up my child, see what's happened.'
My heart sunk right away,
When you lay on the floor instead of the bed.

When did this happen?
So unbelievable and fast.
I was just eight and it was too much,
I didn't know those moments were the last.

I wanted to say I love you,
At least bid you a goodbye.
But I know I cannot get back the time,
No matter how hard I try.

Now that you're gone from life,
Nothing seems to go right.
I am despaired with darkness all around,
But Ma says things will be alright.

You went away without any sign,
Do all lives end like this?
It's been five years but I still say,
You're someone I'll always miss.

I hope you rest in peace,
I hope angels are taking care of you.
I'm sure you're in a better place now,
Where it's colourful and not just blue.
