"Sweetheart!" The man followed the beautiful brunette. His footsteps were loud and clear. His shadow showed over the cold asphalt that was only lit a little by the streetlights. "Oh, come on, love!" he shouted as he kept getting closer and closer to the woman. She turned around for a moment. "Leave me alone," he heard. The man grabbed her by her arm. "You can't just play around and leave, doll. You either work along or we do this the hard way." He dragged her to a sideway while he covered her mouth. There he pushed her against the wall of a building. He started ripping her clothes off. The beautiful black dress of the woman was ruined. The eyes of the man showed a darkness she had seen before. The eyes of the man who left her to die. The man who ruined her. He stole her youth, her beauty, her life. The man made her a monster.

"You are having a heart attack," she said quietly while playing with her short curled hair. The man laughed and continued sliding his hands down to her chest, only to break out in pain. He started to scream. "My heart!" she heard. "Make it stop! Please, I beg you!" He looked at her. Afraid. Hopeless. Pathetic, she thought. "You were going to rape an innocent girl. Men like you sicken me," she looked him in the eye, "die."

"How classy of you. Tricking a man into a crime, just so you can make them suffer." A woman with long straight black hair clapped slowly. She wore a beautiful long black dress along with a black coat that covered most of her figure while still showing her long legs. "I am so proud," the sarcasm couldn't sound more obvious, "Serena."

"He was a monster in his core." Serena moved the body of the man to a stack of wood. "Go away, Michell. I am not talking to you or Natalie." She looked at her. "I mean it, sister. Leave me alone."

"You know you are endangering yourself? The numbers are going up and up, sister. People gone missing. People found dead. It is only a matter of time until you get sloppy and caught. And yet I am still here to make sure you don't end up like that. We Sirens shouldn't be on our own. Even if we have a fight in our sisterhood."

Serena laughed. "The only reason you are here is because Natalie wants you to. And like I said before: I am not talking to Natalie or you!" She grabbed a cigarette. Serena lit it and tossed it away on the stack of wood. It immediately burned the corpse of the man. "Does it look like I need your help," she walked against Michell.

Michell followed Serena for several hours. She went from club to club. Seducing the innocent and tricking the bad, feeding on men before leaving them to rot. Michell watched the entire show. She absolutely loved it but orders were orders: Serena had to be a Siren being a Siren but without the risk of her becoming a cold Siren, Ciren, as she called them. Sirens who have lost all their emotions and are completely off track. They endanger not only themselves but all Sirens. Most of these Sirens end up being dead, killed by the Elders of their own sisterhood to make sure they are not being exposed to humans and can live happily in secrecy. Tragic and poetic, Michell thought.

"Alright, Ser. You have had your fun now. You made your point to Natalie: you can live independent. But it is time to go home. To us." Serena looked at Michell. She took a shot of fresh human blood and continued making out with a fine young gentleman. "Serena." Michell stood in front of the table. Still no word was said by the other siren. "Serena!" She tried to compel the man which resulted into the man slithering down his own throat. "Serena!" Michell tried to stop the bleeding but the man was already far gone. She immediately tried to compel the crowd as Serena didn't seem to care about her actions.

"I said to leave me alone, Michell. These are the consequences of trying to disturb me. Now excuse me, I am starving and it looks like this meal just died too fast." She stood up. Serena grabbed another man by his wrist and made him follow her all the way to the storage room. She locked the door while looking at Michell with that unforgettable Serena smile. She had been in there with the young man for 'ages'. She wasn't just enjoying getting something to feed on. Serena enjoyed the entire snack from meal to fucking dessert. Her sisters had driven her into a rage that had to be tempered by lust. She felt betrayed by their lack of trust in her. All she wanted was to escape for a while. To forget what she knew. To forget what she heard that night.

After another hour passed, Michell had left to call Natalie privately without any ears listening. She needed Natalie to realise that Serena was gone. The young maiden she adored and loved wasn't going to get back to her any time soon.

"Natalie, you don't understand. She is not your innocent little murder who follows your every word anymore!" She hit a stone. It landed against a man. "Watch it, princess!" Michell heard. "One moment, please." The siren put down the phone and angrily walked towards the man. Without any hesitation she kicked him down there. The man yelled in pain and said awful things about her. Michell looked him in the eye instantly silencing his mouth. "Vermin!"

"He hurt your feelings. I am surprised you have any." Serena laughed from a distance. She played once again with her curly hair. Her eyes looked less cold than before. "Can't I laugh? You followed me. Now I follow you. It is annoying. Isn't it, sis." She moved her way to the man. Serena looked him in the eye. "I want you to use this bloody stone and make it bloody with your own blood. All inches of it. Not a single piece skipped." The man picked up the stone. He started cutting himself with the stone over and over again. The blood dripped from his arm onto the stone. "Perfect. Don't you agree, Michell?"

"I will admit, the man hater in me agrees." Serena smiled at her. "But it has to stop. Serena, you are getting cold blooded and unfortunately for you, Natalie doesn't want you to be that way." Michell rolled her eyes as she saw her younger sister ignoring every word she had just said. "Serena, just listen." She smacked her in the face. Serena yelled. "If Natalie wants you to be a part of her sisterhood, you listen to her and follow whatever she does! Do you want her to come here, Serena? She is far worse than I am, especially now. You know that is true! She will make your life miserable. You know why? She gets what she wants and if she doesn't get what she wants..." Michell grabbed Serena by her shoulders. "Darling, you have never met that Natalie. That Natalie is your worst nightmare brought alive. I hope for your sake you never push her that far ever in your life."

Serena seemed troubled by Michell's expression on her face. She had seen this look before. It almost looked like she was, "You are afraid of her?"

"Yes! And you should be too! There are things she hides from us. Secrets. Deep dark secrets from her past. Do you really think her former companion left? Do you really think we move places because of our own safety? She has done something that haunts her, so it haunts us. Why else do you think she is so mad about everything not going her way? She demands that we do everything she wants, or else.."

She realised what Michell was implying after a few moments of silence. Michell kept ticking her hands. She was quite shocked that she had told Serena about this. "Natalie would never," Serena paused to lay her hand on Michell,"kill one of us. You must be wrong. We are sisters!"

Michell shook her head. "Well, do you think I want to be right? I discovered it myself when I found some old poetry of her about how she regrets that she started the fire of her sister's death. It was hidden behind a portrait in her room. I am sure I did not get turned by fire nor did you!" Michell looked at Serena. She couldn't believe it. "Natalie killed her former companion. You know the Siren law. Do you really want to go against Natalie and have the same fate as her?"

"You lost her," Michell heard as she woke up. She saw that Natalie was driving. Next to her, Jackson sat completely silent, he was under the compel of Natalie. "What is the human doing here?" She shook her head. "I thought you hated him and wanted him dead."

"As you messed up, Michell, the human is here to make sure Serena doesn't completely lose her humanity and you know, kills us in this Serena-gone-wild attitude. Which reminds me what have you done now to push her that far?" Natalie's eyes burned through the divers' mirror.

"Why are you looking at me? You wanted her to be reminded of her nature! You wanted to teach her a lesson! This isn't just my fault!" yelled Michell in anger. Natalie released the pendal. Michell bumped against the seat in front of her. "Natalie!" she yelled. "That hurt."

"Good, then you understand how I am feeling, Michell. Now shut your mouth. We have more important things to do: starting with our sweet and loving Jackson Smith," Natalie said as she looked at the young man. "He will get me what I want, unlike you."

"Please, that guy cannot tell you Serena murdered again." Natalie stopped the car again. She turned around to face Michell. "What do you mean she murdered someone and what do you mean again!" Michell smiled and smiled, "Oh, you would love to know what, wouldn't you? All that hard work to make Serena a perfect Siren while we both know she will always be that coldblooded killer from the roaring twenties. After all, you made her one. But now she is going to be colder and meaner than the twenties, Nat. She cares about this disgusting human. It is time to see the truth. Serena doesn't want you in her life anymore just like she did before."

"Of course, you would love to see Serena leave, Michell. You always have. If people would ask me how to describe you. It would be simply said as you were the definition of jealousy. " Michell wanted to say something but Natalie lifted her finger implying to her to be quiet. "Spare me the excuses, Michell. I read your journal. You used to be smarter than writing your inner thoughts down." Natalie shook her head. "I am deeply disappointed in you. You were so close to becoming better. Maybe the next decade, you will finally surprise me."

Michell couldn't bring another word out of her mouth. Just like centuries before, she hated how Natalie made her feel about herself yet she longed to Natalie's love and approval. Ever since Natalie turned her she had tried to be better than the one before her. Sadly, Michell had never surpassed her predecessor. There was a moment Michell thought she finally had lived up to Natalie's standards but then Serena came in their lives and ruined everything for her. Serena was immediately perfect in Natalie's eyes. The perfect Siren to be shaped into what she needed, a replacement for the other siren.
