Trigger Warning: Today's part of the 'October 1st, 1721' storyline includes sexual abuse and rape. I usually do not prefer to spoil things but for those who rather not read these kinds of things, I suggest skipping the first bit and start reading from 'October 1st, 2019'.

The ship had been sailing for weeks ever since Cornelius' death. William had informed his family that this wicked woman responsible for his dear brother's death, Anne, shall be facing the consequences of killing Cornelius and justice will be served for his loved ones. He told his family that he wouldn't harm the witch until the day of execution, because unlike these devils on earth, he was one to fight for a woman's protection, even for the wicked ones. Anne would suffer for what she had done to his dearest brother. And Natalie? She shall have an even more terrible fate than her, William stated in his letter.

William had imprisoned the sirens in cages, one for each of these devils. The siren cage worked well on the creatures of the sea: it blocked their siren's supernatural connection, leaving them more weak and vulnerable in the hands of these heartless pirates...

"Wake up, sunshine," William yelled while one of his crewmen threw a can of water onto the naked Natalie. She tried to hide her smile. "Still flirting with the enemy, William? Your brother must have learned that trick from you. How sad that didn't work out for him. Are you trying to follow his footsteps into death?" he heard from a too overly confident and seductive siren. "Leave us," William demanded with an angry expression on his face. The sailor quickly rushed his way out. William waited for his crewman to shut the door and then walked up to the cage. He slowly unlocked the door. He grabbed the weakened Siren by her throat and pushed her all the way back against the bars. "Keep your filthy wicked mouth shut. Don't you ever say anything about my brother again, devil's daughter, or I will ensure that your life will be more miserable than it is now," William whispered into her ears.

"Are you certain, captain?" she provoked gasping for air.

His eyes slowly wandered to her beautiful green eyes. He found them so enchanted. The seaweed in his veins only protected him from some of the siren's supernatural gifts. He couldn't help himself from falling once again for Natalie's endless beauty and youth. Affected by her ways, William grinned and broke eye contact immediately. He let her throat go and stared at the body of the naked siren. The captain grinned again. He grabbed Natalie more tightly by her arm with one hand. He wanted to make sure she wouldn't pull any siren tricks on him. William pulled his trousers down. He then aggressively pushed inside her entrance without any fight of the siren. William didn't even look at her while Natalie screamed from the pain he had caused just now. This only encouraged him to hurt the siren more. William kept forcibly pushing in and outside her. He grabbed Natalie tighter by her neck and throat. His fingerprints burned into her naked body as his aggression kept going. This was the best torture to give this devil's daughter, he thought while still ignoring her beautiful face all along.

Natalie felt the water escaping her eyes but she did not cry out loud. She knew the pain would be worth it. Her plan was working: she had to distract William from seeing that her wounds were being healed by the water they had thrown onto her. She hoped this hateful thrill and desired violence would make him unseen her now slowly healed body. Natalie needed to get her full strength back if she ever wanted to escape from this cage of hell. She must save her sister from her upcoming execution, demanded by this man of pure evil and bad intentions. Natalie hated that he let her put her guard down around her. It was her fault Anne was going to die. She swore not only to herself but to her sister that she would destroy them all once she knew Anne and her were safe from these wicked games.

Natalie kicked open the door of the office. "Oh, your ancestor just tortured and.. how funny," she paused for the dramatic impact, "on this exact day he raped me until I couldn't move anymore and fell down on a cold floor." She blinked a few times. "And of course, he hurt me on so many levels that your human brains cannot even process them if I would describe them all. Sorry for interrupting your heart to heart talk with fully aware Jackson Smith. Now I see why Michell texted me. What a mess you made."

"Wait a moment there, Nat. I can't just let you drop that on me! You said to me you 'seduced and screwed' William!" She looked irritated at her sister. "You never said that he raped you," Serena said upset. She was more than just shocked by what Natalie had told them. She knew all too well how it felt like to be, well almost, raped but surely knew the pain of sexual abuse. Lord Robert had taught her that all too well back in her humane life. She wondered if this was the real reason why Natalie had saved her from her almost horrible death all those years ago in France. "I am sorry that I reacted so insensitive just now but what happened to you, Nat.. I wished it never-"

"Oh, give it a rest, Mother Teresa. I let him do that to me for the greater good," Natalie interrupted furiously. It sounded like she was trying to hide the fact that it did hurt her more than she wanted it to be. "I would do it again. Despite the outcome," the siren added after the two looked at her upset. She hated it. She didn't need their pity.

Jackson didn't know what to say. He felt sorry for what Natalie had been through. He felt like he had to apologise for what his ancestor had done. Nobody should have ever felt that kind of pain in their life, he thought. He never knew his blood could have been that cursed to another being, human or not. He wanted to tell Natalie all that but her face said enough: do not say a word to me, Smith.

"Are you still so happy knowing the truth about Sirens and ancestors, Jackson Smith? We can easily change that around if it torments your incapable human brain." Natalie looked at the other siren in the room. "Adjust his memories now, Serena. We don't want to accidentally kill Jackson now, do we?"

She sighed, of course Natalie would change the topic to Jackson, Jackson Smith. Serena quickly stood in front of him. "Like I said to Michell, I won't do it. The deal only included his life, not his thoughts. He gets to know the truth."

"Don't test me, chérie. I already allowed you to come back to watch over this human despite your small little outbreak. But do you want to go back on our deal? I will happily pay his remaining family members a visit before killing him, slowly."

"Leave Sam alone!" Jackson yelled. "He doesn't deserve your anger!"

"I could never harm your uncle, Jackson. Samual is the only Smith I have grown to like throughout the years. Why else do you think he is still alive? Because of luck? I could have killed him ages ago, like I did with his parents and yours." She saw Jackson's anger rise. "Oh, I remember how your mother begged for her family's life. Claire, wasn't it? You know, I have changed my mind. It is better this way. He deserves to know the truth like you said, Serena. But does he want to know that your big sister is the one responsible for poor mommy Smith's death? That I am the one who made the pilot fly straight into the bay of Sweet River?"

"You-" He wanted to walk towards her but Serena turned around and stopped him. She looked into his eyes trying to calm him down. "Serena, don't you dare. Let me go."

"She wants you to become angry, Jack. She is not allowed to harm you, unless you harm her like your ancestors have done in the past." She sighed deeply. "That was the deal I made."

"You did?" Serena nodded. "Why? I am just. Me."

"You don't deserve to die because of something terrible your ancestor did ages ago. That is all," Serena stated with no emotion in her voice. She couldn't let Natalie suspect anything more other than having the moral high ground.

"Oh, yeah. Serena surely reminded me of that. Even after I threatened to rip out the throat of that annoying blonde as Michell calls her. Still a very tempting idea," Natalie threatened with one wicked smile.

"Leave Jane out of this! She is not even a Smith! Wasn't your vendetta against us Smiths!" Jack shouted.

Natalie laughed. "Oh, they have made the Browns look so innocently in your town's history books but she is too a descendant of pure evil. Did you know the Brothers Smith founded this town in the name of governor Brown? The father of Robert Brown and the naive Camille." She sighed and rolled her eyes. Jack seemed to be confused. "The wife of your ancestor William? Did you not pay attention to your history lessons, Jackson? Robert Brown was Jane's paternal ancestor and Camille is yours. This is the reason why you and Jane are distant relatives. Robert was responsible for introducing William to his wicked father, bastards, and his sister. William sure impregnated Camille with his cursed offspring." She smiled thinking back of her old Smith hunting times.

W-what? Am I cursed?

"Before your mind explodes, no, you are not cursed, well, maybe. After all you are both a Brown as a Smith."

So, because I am both a Smith and a Brown descendant you hate me to death, great..

"Yes, that could be the reason, Jackson." Natalie smiled. "You are getting smarter for a human."

Jack scratched his head as he slowly realised the siren had just read his mind. Natalie started to laugh at the slightly uncomfortable Serena. She felt embarrassed for not telling him this sooner. She and her sisters basically had heard almost every single thought in his mind.

Does this mean they heard everything all this ti-

"Yes, Jackson!" shouted Natalie slightly annoyed. "Sirens can get through your head. We can hear your thoughts. We can get into your mind and see your hidden secrets, even if you try so hard to suppress them, we can still figure it out when we are near you. Humans are too weak for our wicked Siren charm. Call it the supernatural big brother watching your every thought and move."

"Ar-are you after Jane too because her ancestor was Robert Brown?" he asked, ignoring his beginner's mistake around the sirens.

"You can say I went easy on the other Brown descendants. They all suffered in their own way. The founder families or nearly close to their blood. Which reminds me does Janey happen to miss her mother?"

"You, you didn't! You-"

"Go ahead, finish your words," dared Natalie. She couldn't wait for Jackson Smith to break the deal. "Nat!" shouted the other siren. "Oh, come on. You never said I wasn't allowed to tempt him to hit me. Just like I apparently never said you couldn't tell him the truth, which I am still allowing, surprisingly, why did I allow this? - Come on, Jackson. Don't you want revenge for what I did to your mommy, your daddy and your auntie?"

"Oh!" He stepped closer to Natalie who blew him a kiss. Serena quickly stood in front of him and looked into his eyes.

Her beautiful eyes.. Shit!

"Oh, careful, Jackson. You are starting to look and think like your ancestor Cornelius," commented the siren who had heard his thoughts. "It almost sounds like you are-"

"Natalie, not another word," interrupted Serena, looking at Natalie showing her golden eyes without making Jackson see them. Natalie moved both of her hands up within a second with an 'innocent' smile. Jack had tried to calm himself down as his urge to hit Natalie had become more intense by the minute. "Jack?" she said kindly while still looking at her sister.

"Yes?"

"Let's leave." Serena smiled at him. She grabbed Jackson by his hand and dragged him past the other siren. Natalie looked at her with an approving expression in her eyes: I am allowing you to leave. She closed the door. "Don't worry about me, I will have to deal with her later." She blinked a few times as she felt the coldness inside rising. She had tested her waters too much today. The feelings had become too much. Everything that happened had become too much. He had become too much to her.

"Serena?" Jackson asked.

She turned away from him. "I am alright. Just walk ahead. Please."

"But Serena, you don't seem to be oka-"

"Leave!" she shouted while her almost fully golden eyes revealed to him. He seemed to be scared of her but did not step back any moment instead he got closer to Serena. "Please! Just go away, Jack! I need you to leave! Natalie!"

Natalie slammed the door open and touched Serena on her shoulder to comfort her sister. "Listen to her, Jackson. We already caused a scene now that I will need to clean up," she said irritated. "Luckily, it is just ten students and two staff members," Natalie quickly analysed. She glanced at the library where people had been looking at them ever since Serena had shouted. She hummed to make their minds in a trance, however, this did not affect Jack. "Despite our differences, we all want Serena in perfect condition, right," she said irritated after her work was done. "You know about her killing past in the twenties, do you want to see that side of her now in your high school?" she whispered angrily. "Leave. Or I will erase your thoughts right now and rip out your-"

"Natalie," groaned Serena as her eyes kept switching from brown to gold to brown to gold like an endless ritual. She tried to fight her growing coldness. Serena rushed away before she would hurt anyone. She didn't want Jackson to see that side of her.

"Great, I am going to lose her for real this time. Thank you, Jackson Smith," Natalie said before rushing after Serena.

"What do you mean-" He was too late. Both of the sirens were long gone. He wondered what that all was. He wondered about everything: the night they met, the sudden mood change of Serena, her eye colour, the ongoing murders in Sweet River: from his grandparents to his friends. There was so much still unexplained to him.

"Hey Jack, I thought you were studying for the exam in the library," said Nathan who had just arrived at the office with June Clovers.

"You look miserable, Smith," commented June at the same time. "Anyway, could you help us? Nathan and I are trying to make sure Johnson doesn't ruin our social lives. I know-"

"The library," Jackson mumbled while the two kept talking about how they would convince the principal the school Halloween dance should be continued this October despite the deaths of their fellow students.

There must be books on the Siren myths in the library!

Maybe there is something written about how to save Serena... I need to find out.

"Jack? Hello, Jack? We are talking to you," sighed June.

He raised his eyebrows and gave Nathan a pat on the back. "I am sorry. I need to go! I will talk to you later! Good luck there!" Jack yelled while he hurried away.

-

Jackson was deeply disappointed. He only found one book on creatures of the sea that described something close to sirens. It felt like all literature on Sirens was somehow forbidden in his high school. He had no doubt that this had to do with the Pearls family. He wondered if someone covered for them, would Mayor Thomas Riverson have to do with any of this? Did he know the truth about the deaths of Austin James and Sabrina Ellen? Jackson had so many unanswered questions wandering around in his head.

"Jackson, I didn't expect you to be back so early. Did you find anything-" Mr. Richardson read the title of the book Jack was reading. He smiled. "She was obsessed with the world of Sirens too. My wife, Bea. She loved them so much that she even tracked the stories back with the help of history. I followed her tracks which led me to Sweet River. The town of fallen pirates and beautiful forgotten creatures, the Sirens," Mr. Richardson said.

"Mr. Richardson, I mean, Henry, you don't happen to own any more books on Sirens, do you? There is like nothing here except for this very old book with scrapped out pages. I want to do my own personal project," he asked kindly hoping this would give him some answers.

"Jackson, you will have to be the one to tell Jane she has competition in class this year. I absolutely love personal history projects! I would be happy to help! Come by this Friday after school in my classroom." Jackson nodded at him. "I will bring 'the stuff' with me," he joked, "isn't that what you kids say?"

"Mr. Richardson," Jackson sighed while slapping his forehead.
