Luke's POV.

She won't pick up my calls.

She won't respond to my texts.

She avoided me on Tuesday and literally kneed me in the hallways this morning when I grabbed her arm and tried to talk to her.

Yeah, she's that mad at me and I understand her, I'd be mad at me too but she has to give me a chance to explain myself.

She probably thinks that after-sex reaction was because I got what I wanted and immediately lost interest.

I won't lie, I do lose interest in girls after I sleep with them but that wasn't the case with Reign.

Instead of losing interest, I couldn't stop thinking about doing it again, my mind couldn't stop thinking about when, where, which position? Would she let me eat her out?

Goddamn it! It was highly annoying and confusing at the same time.

It felt different with her, unlike most girls who close their eyes and moan their way to climax, Reign Miller did it all, she moaned, she screamed, she kissed me, she looked into my eyes and she told me what I wanted to hear.

She's a fucking dream.

"Dude, are you even listening to me?" Mason drags me out of my thoughts as he continues pacing my room.

"He's not and I totally understand him because you're not making any fucking sense." Damien blows out a puff of smoke from the floor.

"Why is he here again?" Mason curiously points down at Damien who's laying down on my carpet, his head resting on a pillow.

"He-"

"We." Damien corrects me, rolling his eyes.

"He has an interview with some curious reporter." I answer.

Damien moved back to town from Spain a week ago and since my Dad and his Dad are literally partners in crime, their letting reporters question us about our 'young adult' lives in order to get the full info before we make it to the business world.

I honestly don't know why Damien's doing the interview, he's not his father's successor or even next in line, infact, he might even be Mr Demarco's bastard son if the rumors are true.

"An interview? here?" Asks Mason, swinging his index finger in a circle.

"Let's not forget about little Zo's photoshoot with Teen Vogue." Damien smirks at me.

He and my sister haven't seen each other since he came back. I feel like today is the worst day for her to see him cause she made a pretty big deal about the Vogue shoot and no one really acts natural around their crush.

"Nice." Says Mason.

"So what were you saying?" I avert my eyes from Damien to look at Mason.

"Jasmine, I was telling you about Jasmine and Kyle." He sounds frustrated again.

"Did they get back together?" I ask.

"No, worse, he snuck into her room drunk last night and he..." He releases an angry growl, "He tried to force himself on her." He says through gritted teeth.

"Did she report him?" I ask.

"No, dude, his Dad's the town Mayor, no one's gonna take action against the Mayor's son." He points out.

"Did you break his fucking face?" Asks Damien.

"No." Mason shakes his head.

"Who's this girl to you?" Damien looks up at Mason with narrowed eyes.

"She's the only girl he's ever loved." I chuckle.

"Tsk, is she now?" Damien looks at me with an amused smile.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Asks Mason.

"I'd kill anyone who would force themselves on the only girl I've ever loved," He responds, sounding a little too serious.

Mason shoots me a questionable glance.

"Don't listen to him, he's fucked up." I say in a lazy tone.

"He's right though," he lifts his shoulders.

"Now we're talking," Damien smirks at Mason.

"No and no, Mason, Kyle's family is not to be fucked with." I tell him.

"He fucking touched her, Luke, we've taken care of douchebags who've touched Reign and Ariana in the past, there is no difference." He says, I sigh defeatedly.

"Can I please see a picture of this girl?" Damien raises his hands, Mason pulls out his phone, searches for the picture and hands the device to Damien.

Damien sits up to get a good look at the screen, he whistles.

"Amico, I feel so jealous that you're smashing someone this fine." He looks up at Mason while pointing at the screen.

"He is not." I laugh, he turns to look at me while Mason scratches his head.

"Fuck off." Damien looks back and forth between Mason and I.

"I don't think they've even kissed." I rat him out, he sends me a playful glare.

"No," Damien looks up at Mason and chuckles.

"We're taking things slow, assholes," Mason defends, I shake my head at him.

"Have you ever...?" Damien turns the screen to me, showing me the cute picture of Jasmine in a red dress, sniffing a rose flower.

"No, she's one of those people that you wanna be best friends with," I tell him while smiling at the picture.

"That is the most pussiest thing I've ever heard, I wouldn't dare play with my food like this," He laughs at us, Mason shakes his head while I throw a pillow at Damien.

"I told you he was fucked up." I mumble to Mason, he snickers, retrieving his phone from Damien.

"Hey, boys." Mom opens my bedroom door and peeks her head inside while holding the door handle.

"Mom, we talked about this, knock first." I say.

"My bad, the team's here for you." She informs.

"The golden boy says he's not doing the stupid interview." Says Damien. That statement pushes her to enter the room.

I sigh.

Here we go..

"Give us a minute." She tells them while looking at me.

"Tonight." Mason mouths to me before he and Damien start walking out of my room, Damien winks at me and I show him the finger.

"Is this about Monday?" She folds her arms over chest.

"What about Monday?" I tuck my arm underneath my head, looking up at her.

"I told that girl to stay away from you and now you're acting out." She gestures with her hands, I furrow my brows together at her statement.

"What?" I sit up straight, "You did what?" I ask her.

"Luke-"

"Mom, you had no right to do that, Jesus Christ, what is wrong with you?" I grab my phone to try Reign again but she strides towards me and snatches it from my fingers.

"Trust me, I did you a favor." She points at me with my phone.

"Why? What makes you think you did me a favor?" I question, my tone sounding bitter.

"Do you even know who that girl is?" Her brows shoot up.

"Yeah, she's Daniel Miller's daughter, Daniel Miller is in prison for God knows what, so what? Reign is not her father and I don't think I give a shit about all that because I..... like her," I admit but more to myself because I was trying so hard not to.

"That's the thing, Luke, you like her and you should give a shit about all that!" She shouts.

"Why?" I ask curiously, she turns her head to look at the door before meeting my eyes again.

"Because your father would kill us all if he ever found out you were involved with that girl or that name." She's now whispering and she looks... afraid.

"Of course, this is about him, it's always about him." I scoff, shaking my head disappointedly.

"Sweetheart, your father is not a bad man, people just misunderstand him."

"Coming from a woman who cries herself to sleep every night, yeah, I'll take your word for it, Mom." I say sarcastically, pushing to my feet and running a frustrated hand through my hair. "Phone." I let my hand out.

"Do you like her that much?" She asks, concern in her eyes.

I pause, staring at my mother's serious expression.

I ask myself the same question in my head and it makes me feel powerless, the good kind, the same powerlessness I feel whenever I kiss Reign.

I plop down on my bed, ruffling my hair frustratedly.

"I know she's not like the girls you set me up with but she challenges me, Mom, I never realized it before but I forget about all my shit when I'm around her because we'll be too busy fighting over silly things and playing games that mess with our heads," I smile.

"You like her that much," She's informing me.

"Would that be such a crime though?" I ask, "Girls like Hannah Francis and Rachel graham are nice and all but I wanna be able to like girls that I like, not girls you pick for me." I shake my head.

"I know, sweetheart but you're a Richardson, I'd never forgive myself if you ended up marrying someone who's only interested in your money." She says.

"It's a lot of money, I think it's high time we started sharing," I joke.

"Not funny,"

"Okay, fine, I get that but what about right now? I'm eighteen, I'm not marrying anyone any time soon," I shrug.

"I met your father when I was sixteen." She half laughs.

"Did your Mom force you to marry him?" I question, she shakes her head no. "Then why are you forcing me?" I ask, she stares at me without giving a response then she releases a defeated sigh.

"You're right, I shouldn't force you." She rubs the back of her neck, "But, I'm going to make you a deal cause nothing good comes easy," she rubs her hands together.

"I'm all ears."

"If you attend your father's Ball this Saturday and do the interview with Damien, I'll let you continue doing whatever with that girl." She counters.

"Do I get to invite my friends to the Ball?"

"Sure." She huffs.

"That includes Reign." I add, she puts on a blank stare.

"Just make sure your father doesn't see or hear her name." She orders in a low tone, pointing at me.

"Deal." I say, she passes my phone back to me and turns to leave. "Mom?" I call.

"Yeah?" She halts, facing me again.

"What happened between Dad and Daniel Miller?" I ask even though I really don't want to know.

"You're not ready for that conversation." She tells me what I want to hear.

"You're gonna tell me at some point, right?"

"Of course." She puts on a faint smile.

"Okay." I smile back.

"Just please don't get the girl pregnant, that's a mess we can't clean up." She says to me before going out of my room.

I ignore her cringe comment.

I dial Reign's number again but it goes straight to voicemail.
