Reign's POV.

My shift is over but I can't leave because it's heavily raining outside, most people would take an umbrella and go but my Ombrophobia won't let me, fear of the rain.

How stupid, I know but my mind tends to think that there's something bad in the rain so I never go anywhere near it.

Ariana and Garrett are still here, Mason left with Luke's car and Luke is talking to some chick from school on another booth.

I hate doing this but I do it anyway, I sit across Ariana and Garrett, looking back and forth between them. They're whispering sweet nothings to each other and they don't even notice me.

Great.

I open my mouth to talk to them but it just hangs open when they start making out again.

For fuck's sake, I lean back in my seat.

I notice how their eyes are closed, I once asked my Dad why we close our eyes when praying and he said it's because the most wonderful feelings are felt with your eyes closed.

Ever since that day, I'd notice how a lot of people experienced these 'wonderful feelings' like kissing, praying, eating, being high, sleeping, hell even when fucking but not me, I'm always staring at them when they're kissing me and I stare at the ceiling when they fuck me.

I don't know why, maybe it's because I've never felt that spark that people speak of in books and movies.

"What are you, staring at them kissing?" Luke's voice drags me back to reality as he sits next to me, causing me to scoot over. Ariana and Garrett break apart to look at us.

"I was trying to see who's the better kisser." I lie, Ariana smiles at me.

"Creepy as hell," Luke mutters, I slowly turn to shoot him a murderous glare, I end up spotting lipstick smeared all over his cheek.

"Says the guy that has lipstick all over his stupid face," I scowl at him in disgust.

"That bitch," He starts wiping his face with his hand, totally not touching the spot but I'm not going to tell him that. "Dude, you gotta help me get the hell out of here, that Sheila chick is obsessed with me." He whispers to Garrett.

That Sheila chick is flickering her fingers at him flirtatiously two tables away.

Luke gets all the attention from girls all the time but he doesn't lay with just about anyone, he has a certain type, Sheila is definitely one of them so that only means that...

"He's done fucking her and he's ready to move on to the next blonde, beautiful and skinny," I say out loud.

"I wasn't talking to you, man, the fuck?" He narrows his eyes at me.

"Was I?" I return the look.

"Why are you even sitting here? Shouldn't you be serving those weird shakes that you made up?" He looks me down like I'm... trash.

"Shouldn't you be taking your best male slut award from Ms Blondie over there?" I fire back.

"Shouldn't you be minding your own fucking business and not slut shaming me?" He bites out.

"Shouldn't you be-"

"Okay! okay! Enough!" Ariana snaps at us, we both turn to look at her.

"You're still talking about them, babe? I thought we moved on." Garrett chuckles, looking at her.

"Why are you guys always acting childish around each other?" She furrows her brows in confusion while shifting her gaze between Luke and myself.

"Enough about that, I was talking about Sheila," Luke leans his arms on the table and looks at Garrett.

"And I was talking about you and Rei, what the hell is it with you guys?" She questions.

"I used to think that maybe it's because they hooked up once but no, that's not it," says Garrett and I scrunch my nose at the thought of hooking up with Luke.

"Reign is a bitch and one day, you guys will agree with me," Says Luke, I chuckle to myself.

Sometimes I feel like Luke is the only other person that can see that I don't fit into this circle anymore, and he's  the only one who gets closer to pointing that out because he doesn't like me.

"I'm gonna go home now," I try to flee.

"It's raining," Luke nods his head to the window, "oh wait, I forgot that I don't give a shit." He leaps out of the seat, leaving way for me.

"Sit down, both of you," Ariana demands.

"I really have to go-"

"I said sit!" She raises her tone.

I stay put and Luke sits back down.

"I don't know why you've been MIA lately, Rei, but it's a total dick move but we're not going to let you dump us for whoever you're screwing nowadays so we're going to do a little something this weekend since it's your birthday." She says to us. "At Luke's family vacation house." She adds, specifically looking at Luke.

He and I exchange a cold glance.

Luke and I celebrate our birthday with our friends instead of family, I have no idea why Luke does it but I do it because there's no family left to celebrate my birthday with, just my mom but she never remembers.

"When did you decide this?" Asks Luke.

"Just now and you're not allowed to say no," She raises a silencing finger at him.

"But I have to-"

"It's just for one weekend, Reign, whatever it is can wait," She cuts me off.

Damnit.

"Yeah, okay," I give in.

"I was kinda hoping you would say no," Luke whispers beside my ear, his breath tickling my earlobe.

"Luke." Ariana says in a warning tone.

"What? Fighting with this one for a whole weekend doesn't sound pretty healthy to me," He points at me with his thumb, I roll my eyes at him.

"You're also not allowed to fight, I'll literally force you guys to kiss if I hear you fighting," She declares.

"Ugh," Luke and I groan in sync then look at each other because of it.

"So? no fighting?" She points her finger back and forth between us, Luke wraps his arm around my shoulder, I narrow my eyes at the hand before turning to look at his face.

There's that fake smile again, he wears it so perfectly it almost looks real with those dimples.

"We'll be on our very best behavior, right, Reign?" He looks down at me.

I just find myself hating the fact that I'm admiring how golden his skin looks.

"Get your hand off me," I say through gritted teeth, he pulls me closer to his chest instead, just to annoy me.

I'm annoyed cause why the hell does he smell all nice?

I groan irritatedly, shoving his hand off me. They all snicker.

"Hey, Reign?" Andy Grad stands over our table and smiles at me, he looks like he just walked in since he's barely dry and all.

I wait for him to greet the rest but he doesn't do that and the glares that are coming from Luke and Garrett do not go unnoticed.

Andy is from Variety high school, our rival school, hence why Luke and Garrett look like they are about to go ape shit on him. The guy has a crush on me and I haven't told him to fuck off yet because I think he's cute.

Don't judge.

I don't know anything about football rivalry, I don't even play football so screw them.

"Hey, Andy," I wave with a smile.

"Can we talk for a second?" He points to another booth.

"No." Luke responds before I can, I raise my eyebrows at him.

"Uh, excuse me, who are you? where did you come from? And what makes you think you can meddle in my business?" I ask Luke but he's still glaring at Andy.

"Fuck off, man, seriously," Says Garrett while also glaring at Andy.

What the fuck?

"Oh my God, Richardson, move before I make you," I whisper shout to Luke as I shake his arm but he doesn't budge.

"Make me." He turns to face me, his gray eyes piercing into my hazel ones. Cold, serious and daring.

I hate that he knows he's a six foot something football player with muscles.

"You're still standing here?" Garrett asks Andy.

"Look, bro-"

"No one here is your bro, now fuck off before your luck runs out," Luke responds in that don't-fuck-with-me tone.

I'm done for.

I rest my forehead on the table, bumping into the wooden thing three times before raising my head and staring up at Andy.

"I'll call you," He says to me before walking away. I bite my lip and nod even though he can't see me.

"You have that dick's number?" Garrett questions in disbelief.

"Is that a crime?" I ask.

"Delete it." Says Luke, his tone still sounding angry.

"Excuse you?" I laugh at the audacity.

"Delete it, Reign. Now." He repeats himself.

Who does he think he is? My father?

"I don't think so," I shake my head in disapproval.

"Guys like him just wanna get in your pants," Ariana leans on the counter and whispers to me like she knows shit about me.

She doesn't. None of them do.

"Guys like him? You mean guys who play football? Last time I checked, you're dating a football player who gets in your pants all the time, why can't I do the same thing?" I ask her.

No one says anything else and my words linger in the air and I realize that I was a little bit rude.
