Standing at the doorstep, I ring the bell. In an instance, dad unlock the wooden door sulking at me.

"Oh, it's you, welcome back honey," He sulks, making me squint my eyes at him.

"Were you expecting someone else?" I ask, moving past him with two bags trailing behind me.

"Ye- what no?" He nervously snickers, shaking his head and walks into the kitchen. Coming around, he passes me a glass of water, sitting down beside me. 

Putting up with a brief look at his appearance and his nervousness sweeping out of him, I was making assumptions of what could possibly have happened while I was away. Perhaps, a burglar barged in or dad finally set the kitchen on fire or maybe he let the neighbours taste his food and they left the town or maybe something happened to Eve...

"Where's Eve?" I question, sipping the warm water.

"Uh...Eve, he's upstairs in your room. He hasn't been out of your room since you left. Keeps playing with your stuff. I guess you have to share your room's ownership with him." He chuckles, involuntarily fidgeting his fingers.

"Were you expecting someone?" I ask him again. He stays cool and lets a sigh mumbling, "kind of."

"I am guessing it's her?" I hint, to which he nods firmly making me hum.

At that very moment, the bell goes off sounding the person arrived whom my dad was expecting. At that very moment, I saw a smile slowly making its way on his face making him want to stand and walk to the door and embrace the person. He frowns as if deciding whether to let me know first or open the door.

I sit down the empty glass and getting up taking my bags, I wave at him, "Good luck" with that I walk upstairs giving them their much needed moment.

"Chloe." I hear him on the way, turning around I see him whispering a thank you. I chuckle indicating the doorbell which was ringing until now. He dreads making his way to the door hurriedly.

Meanwhile, I open the room's door only to get surround by a little pup. He continuously sniffs my scent and showers me with his licks and kisses. Caressing his fur, I welcome him too.

Closing up the door behind, I sat Eve down and move to my closet setting the clothes back from the bags. After done, I lie down on the bed, Eve snuggled up to me. Shuffling the phone on, I check the notifications. There were 3 notifications from the mobile company which I moved to trash. 1 notification was from daniel.

It was a photo of me sleeping on the bus, taken candidly. Wheezing, I type three lol with an eye roll and pressed the send button. Latching the screen, me and eve cuddle up and goes into a deep slumber.

Waking up to a flickering sound from downstairs, I see the time. Assuming that she was still here, I make my downstairs after fixing my outfit and hair. Half of my way down, I see both of them laughing together with the television going on in front of them. None of them seems to pay attention to it.

Taking the last step, I clear my throat catching both of their attention. Dad looks at me and beams, motioning me to join them. Seeing him, she turns around and believe me, I stood shocked seeing her. Just then, her name unknowingly left my mouth.

"Alisa?"

"Omg, I never knew you are George's daughter?" She walks to me and engulfs me in her hug. 

"That's unfair. You two know each other. I thought it will be a surprise." Dad frowns seeing us quite familiar with each other. Alisa takes my hand, making me sit next to them.

"How did you meet?" I ask curiously.

"At McDonald's, where I work." Alisa smiles and dad nods approving.

"Since when you started going to McDonald's?" I squint my eyes at him. He soon realises and thinks about some lame excuse while Alisa seems to be in shock. I really don't know what he tried to approach her.

"Uh...how..a friend..my friend he wanted to have a visit and that's how-"

"A friend? Alisa was the-" I direct my question to which she shakes her head signalling he was alone when he first met her. 

Dad shoves his head in a pillow making me laugh and Alisa blushes. Soon, she joined me too and we laughed at dad being caught.

"It's dinner time, George have you prepared something or should I?" she asks him making him grin proudly. He puts the pillow aside and reassures her that he has it prepare and need few minutes to set up the table. I excuse myself wanting to go to the washroom. 

A few minutes later, I make my way downstairs only to see dad apologizing to Alisa. 

"Who is she?" She argues. 

"She is no one honey, believe me..." He sighs, with a series of sorry coming out.

"I- oh Chloe, you here." She composes herself but the smile never really reaches her eyes.

"Whom are you both talking about?" I frown, dad, looking at me with a tired look while Alisa being a little upset.

"No one-"

"Amanda"

Both of them speak at the same time, I realise what Alisa said and burst into laughter right there. Dad pointing at me, looking to Alisa 'see.'

"Amanda..she is...dad loves her." I saw dad looking displeased. I continue, "Especially her cooking, dad watches her cooking all the time. His favourite activity most of the time." Alisa turned upset by this looking at him making dad want to bang his face at the nearby wall.

"Did I mention, she is a YouTuber with over a million subscriber" I comment, laughing at her. "Don't worry, dad just watch her videos to learn cooking, that's it." She sighs, glaring at both of us and making her way to the table with dishes in her hands.

Dad looks up, probably asking god to give a reason as to why he sent another Chloe in the house.

I pat his back saying, "Don't worry Georgie, everything happens for a reason," earning a chuckle.

We both follow Alisa soon, not wanting to disappoint her anymore and have dinner. It was the first time, Dad and I were having dinner with a third person and that was the moment we knew we will never forget. Seeing Alisa and dad happy together was making me satisfy. 

Things were getting better for sure.
