"What why?" I was surprised by his negative response. I was never denied anything by him. He was the person who managed to fulfil every wish of his daughter and abruptly hearing NO as his response was certainly shocking to me.

Suddenly, he starts laughing out loud, placing his hand on his heart, he continues laughing. "What's wrong?" I question, frowning at him.

"Nothing, I was kidding...you can go on the trip, have fun," he explains, getting up and leaving a kiss on my forehead before stepping out of the dining room. I let loose a sigh, silently glimmering to myself. I'm doing this.

'dad approved' message sent!

I wasn't hoping to catch a glimpse of Tracey when entering school but yeah sometimes, you have to start a day seeing unpleasant things.

"Chloe, are you coming for the trip? If you're assuming to come on the trip and have fun...just imagine your last trip...it'll be honestly fun to recreate those memories right?" She smirks with her provoking mouth but if she believes that I'll stay quiet then she is so wrong.

"Sure it'll be fun," I returned the same smile to her. Her smile falters and before I could see it completely vanishing, she scrambles inside the room.

It'll be surely fun to recreate those memories...but the target won't be me anymore...not even her. I won't stoop that low, to act like her but, I'll certainly try to give a piece of mind to her.

Let the change begin.

Later, getting over with a math lecture, I spot Bree sitting under a tree, gazing at her phone with an unusual frown lingering on her face. My strides made their way towards her and I got myself comfortable beside her. She felt my presence as she kept her phone aside and peeps at me with her usual smile, but it wasn't genuine. I could sense the uncertainty and something nowhere near related to a smile. I could sense that.

"You want to let out something?" I gradually ask her. She gulps down and removes her eyes off me.

"Nothing..." She whispers, staring over the school in front of us. I just hummed and kept staring at the crowd heading towards the gate, smiling, laughing, making fun of each other, few spilling water on each other from their bottle and laughing at the same time. As I was staring at the scenario in front of me, I heard a deep voice from beside me.

"I want to talk to you." I look over Liam standing in front of Bree, his stare steady over her while she turns a deaf ear towards him. I was debating over myself whether I should leave or stay with bree. In a few seconds, I chose the former one.

Gripping my backpack, I got ready to get up but Bree stopped me from doing so. I look at Liam with a nervous stare but he returns an encouraging smile making me feel less nervous.

"In fact no, let's leave from here," Bree mutters, getting up.

"Please stay, you haven't given me at least one chance. Just one chance I need. I promise I won't bug you after," he pleads, his voice not sounding deep as earlier. This entire scene was making me very much look like the third wheel and I was not at all comfortable with it.

Bree responded to him with a hum which sent Liam into a little ray of hope. I could see it in the eyes. People say eyes glow in hopefulness or something like that, I never thought of it being true but today, I saw it in his eyes. The way his eyes earned their grey colour intensity changed my earlier opinion.

"It's a lie Bree, you think I would ever..." He was abruptly stopped by Bree's harsh glare I never saw. "If you have something reliable to speak, speak it. I want the truth, no bullshit." She retorts.

"But what if this bullshit sounding shit is the truth," he fires back and I see no change in Bree's expression.

"Then you are not what I used to think, just...stay away," Bree whispers and leaves. I trail behind her stealing a final glance at Liam. All I saw was scattered, broken him. The high school truly sucks.

When I stepped outside the campus, I saw Bree vigorously wiping her tears away. It wasn't the right time to talk to her. I made my way towards her and mumbled my bye which she replied with a nod. With a hug, we separate and walk down on our paths. Sometimes, it isn't the right time to discuss. Somethings are meant to be sorted out all alone.

Strolling on the usual street, I heard the bicycle bell's sound and by now I didn't have to stir my brain cells to know who that person was. It was obviously him.

"Helloooo! bloop bloop," he chuckles at his own saying. My house was still minutes away and I wasn't happy at that at all.

"Hey, I can drop you," he talks again realising my silence.  I went on walking. Eventually, he slows down the speed of his bicycle to match the speed of my walking.

He trips over his own self trying to maintain the speed but it wasn't possible. I pause on my way and turn around staring at him...much like glaring.

"You think I'll talk to you if you keep pulling off such idiotic things," I frown at him making him sigh.

"These idiotic things brings a smile on your face," he smiles cheekily showing his teeth. I roll my eyes and reply, "Not always."

"Uhuh. Always," he keeps up.

"I know okay? It doesn't." At this point, irritation began growing within me.

"Uhuh, you don't know, see, believe me, or not. I've known you more than you in these few days. If you want proof, whenever you smile even a bit, those ocean blue eyes sink deeper whereas your eyebrows relax erasing the ever stress lines you have on your forehead and not to mention the faint pink that develops on your earlobe...but that doesn't happen always like now, I can't see it." He pouts.

To say, I was shocked 'cause I never knew my earlobe turning pink or I stroll around with constant creasing of eyebrows every second.

I boost my pace trying to reach home fast. I could hear his voice becoming faint as I put steps forward but I didn't miss the laugh he had before it became completely inaudible.

Reaching home, I knocked thrice and saw dad opening the door. Rushing upstairs into my room, I freshened up and layed on the bed for the time I knew it was dinner time when I woke up.

Dad and I ate our dinner, as usual, discussing our day and a few other random things. After dinner, as usual, I was walking to the stairs muttering good night but dad stopped in.

I turned around and saw he was signalling me to sit down beside him on the sofa and so I did.

"What's wrong?" I ask, sitting beside him.

"Chloe, let's watch some spooky horror movies tonight," he cheers.

"Why?" I question and he sighs.

"It's Halloween Chloe, c'mon you can show at least a bit of enthusiasm..." He pouts. Apparently, he loves watching horror movies.

"Uh okay fine then," I smile seeing his childlike enthusiasm for watching horror.

"Yay! Let's watch this one," he says, showing me the title.

Oh, God! No this one...

It might be the 100th time we'll be watching that movie.

Someone help me.
