A/N: Wait? How is my story ranking 98 in Teen Fiction? I have published only 3 chapters yet and... Just how?

-

"How about a NO?" I whisper climbing upstairs with exhausted feet. I really need to take a bus from now on. Walking to and from school is extremely tiring and exhausting.

"That's not fair, Chloe. We need to visit them. I understand your circumstance and social awkwardness but you can't stay an introvert throughout your life. You have to come out of your shell and see the world, it's so beauti-"

"Stop," I yell from upstairs to quit his ranting or else he'll just go on and on. One thing for sure, He never gets tired of talking.

Once I heard complete silence, I continued, "Look, Dad, I have assignments to complete, you know your daughter is nearly failing her math class and I have the least score in physical education's test, So I have to prepare for the upcoming tests and I am an introvert and I don't mind." I complete my speech and peek at him, He just stares at me and shrugs.

That's it?

"I can understand your failing in math class, after all, you're my daughter. Like father like daughter" he grins cheekily and I facepalm myself shaking my head.

"Whereas, talking about test preparation, you can study for two days. If you focus, you can succeed. You know what? One's success is determined by his or her daily agenda...By the way, what another difficulty you mentioned?" He closes his eyes to recall my speech.

That's it. I can't take this anymore, I turned around and walked into my room closing the door behind.

"Oh c'mon Chloe, just once," He yelled from downstairs and I yelled back, "I am not gonna change my mind, that's final."

I sat down with my math books, trying to solve the problems which itself is problematic. One of the math rules I realized in my whole school life is 'If it seems easy, you're doing it wrong.'

I just want to listen to music, I wish studying for an exam was as easy as remembering the lyrics. I'd pass every exam.

I'm the type of person who wants good grades but doesn't want to study. But I have to, I promised professor lee, I have to make this work.

But at the same time, I'm sleepy...

Next morning, I got ready for school and rushed downstairs while furiously attempting to unlock my phone but it wasn't unlocking. Pressing longly, it unlocked but it was indicating the sign of zero percent. What?

How can I forget to charge my phone last night? Shit! Someone kill me.

"Chloe! Breakfast is ready," Dad shouts pretty much unknown of my presence.

"Dad," I yell and tap his shoulder causing him to flinch. He huffs and glares at me after calming himself, "You want your father to die this soon? I could have died of a heart attack." He exclaims dramatically.

"Oh please, you aren't dying soon. Anyways, I need a power bank charger. My phone is dead." I explain and he walks to his bag taking out the power bank and passing it to me.

"Thankyou," I was about to take it but he yanks his hand back and smirks.

Old devil.

"Have you changed your mind yet?" He smirks. I pause for a few seconds and shake my head, "not yet."

"Then you-" I tackle him causing him to stumble back and I immediately snatch charger from his hand and grab a toasted bread running away.

Dad, you forgot! You yourself used to teach me kickboxing.

Like father like daughter I mentally smirked biting my toast bread.

It was raining again. I wish I could sit in the rain and let it wash all my worries away. I love it when it rains.

Due to this lovely weather, I decided to visit McDonald's again because I was missing my coffee dearly. Entering inside, I saw Alisa talking to a customer and besides her, I saw...

Daniel?

Approaching them, Alisa turned to me and frowned slightly before recalling me, "Mocha Frappé?" Her frown turning into her genuine smile.

I smiled slightly before nodding and turning attention back to Daniel only to see he was waving his hand at me like crazy, wearing a worker's apron.

"Hey- oops, I am so sorry," and he collides with a customer. The customer gets angry and screams for the manager.

Guess colliding with people and spilling coffee on them is his passion.

"Excuse me," Alisa says and hands me my coffee. As I was sipping, Daniel comes to me but turns of Alisa, "I got this another time, now definitely no more."

"This was your third time, daniel. If you do now one more time then the manager will surely kick you out." See, I guessed it correctly.

"Hey Chloe," I stopped sipping and looked up frowning. How the hell does he know my name? I never told-

"I got your name from Miss Marie if you are wondering," He grins clearing my doubt, I barely nodded waiting for him to proceed.

He just continued to stare at me.

Confirmed. This guy is plain stupid, I concluded sipping coffee, must have been tea instead.

"Are you gonna keep her hanging?" Alisa giggles and he turns, raising his eyebrows and shortly after realisation his eyes widen.

"Oh yes! I asked Ms Marie about the lectures I missed before enrolling into the school and she recommended taking notes from you and well maybe you can explain a few concepts if they are out of my reach." He nervously chuckles.

And I, I was just staring at him mouth open.

Again I question myself.

Why?

Someone calls the waiter, Daniel turns to the source of the voice and yells back 'coming' and rushes towards the customer.

"If God brings you to it, he will bring you through it." I turned to the voice and it was Alisa cleaning her desk but I knew she was talking to me.

Noticing my frown, she smiles, "I know something is bothering you or maybe someone, you trying to be quiet and living in a shell won't help. You've to fight them, we can't get everything we dream of, sometimes we just have to go with the flow. Don't let the darkness of the past cover the brightness of the future," She says while making coffee for another customer.

I gulped down my coffee, Taking money out of my back pocket, I gave her while smiling slightly. "Daniel told me about this girl and the description matches with you so I'll assume he was speaking about you." She says.

While turning around with a simple nod of acknowledgement to leave, she calls my name making me turn to face her, "Chloe."

She continues, "Everything happens for a reason" and goes back taking orders from a customer.

Everything happens for a reason...

Sighing, I started walking in the direction of the exit but I heard his voice. Turning back I saw, he was taking long strides towards me rubbing his hands to his brown jacket.

"How do you go to school?" He asked cleaning up his jacket and I just rolled my eyes, not wanting to answer.

"Chloe," He yells loudly enough to gather a few stares, I put my hands on my ears and he makes a guilty face.

"Oops sorry" He mutters and then suddenly grins widely.

He raises his right hand and starts moving his fingers in different ways rather forms, and waits for my response looking at me with the same grin plastered.

I simply tilt my head raising my eyebrows and he frowns shaking his head and again starts performing with his hand.

What was this now?

After a long pause, he lets out a frustrated sigh and mumbles, "Why aren't you understanding this?"

What was he struggling to explain?

He again starts doing the same thing and it's really annoying me now, He was clearly wasting my time. I attempted by signalling him to stop but he still continued to do that,

"What the hell are you doing?"
