Chapter 14

"Okay, so I'll get going..."I said as I got up to leave, but he grabbed my hands and pulled me back on our bench. Yeah, now its 'our' bench because I find myself almost everyday sitting on it with Dylan next to me.

"Cmon! Let me go! I have to do lots of homework, I can't hang out with you today!"

"Please, just some more time. Just sit here and talk to me..."

"About what?"

"About any-" he was interuppted by a high pitched girly voice, whose owner was...Stacy.

"Hey Dylan..." she said seductively, biting her lips. Slutty much?

"Uh...hey Stace"

"Forgotten me, haven't you?" She said bending dangerously low towards him and brushing her lips against his cheek. Her top which resembled a bra, barely covered her assets and Dylan probably must have seen everything. Why was she even wearing anything?

She came and sat on his lap, her legs on either side of him as she pushed herself even closer to him and started playing with his hair. Then probably after, when she got bored (I guess) she smashed her pouty red lips onto his and the very next second both of them were kissing furiously.

I felt disgusted even sitting there next to him. I mean okay, kissing isn't bad, but somehow I just got the creeps watching him kiss Stacey. So I got up, ready to leave, when Dylan parted from Stacey.

"Where are you going Alex?"

"Home? Apparently I'm not in the mood of watching adult content today. P.s- get a room the two of you, there are kids here." I scrunched up my face a bit, walking off.

"Forget her Dylan, come over at my house, nobody's home...my new lingerie from victoria's secrets cannot wait to be seen and then be removed by you"

"Alright Stace, I'm up for it."

I pressed my eyes shut, trying to swallow up my anger. Why was I even feeling angry? It wasn't anything new...Dylan and his never-ending lists of girls.

I sighed, as I started leaving. Maybe I was angry because Dylan didn't ask me to stop, not that I would've anyway, apparently, he completely forgot about me when Stacey proposed they go over to her house.

I should just suck up this fact that I'll never be able to compete with girls like her. The Barbie doll kind who hover around him. They allow themselves to be touched and played by Dylan. Not me though. I never will. I'm just not like that. Besides we're friends now, aren't we? Why does it matter?

Oh damn! I didn't bring my car today, however will I go home?

Suddenly then, a red convertible came honking and stood next to me.

"Need a lift?" It was Tia. I hadn't talked to her since that incident with Matt. Did the preposition for the lift meant that she was ready to forget our fight and start over? Well, I did miss her. I mean being friends with Dylan is good and all but a girl needs her girlfriends too.

"Hey Tia! Sure I'd like a lift."

"Hop in!"

She started the car and I found myself talking to her almost as if nothing happened. None of us brought the topic out and I was glad for it.

"So...looks like you finally fell for the Player's charms huh?"

"What?!"

"I mean I knew eventually you'd come to it, falling for Dylan and all..."

"What?! No! I don't like him. Puh-leez! I'm not that lame"

"Aw cmon! Don't deny it. I know you like him!"

"Do not!"

"Do too!

"Do not!"

"Do not!"

"Do too!"

"Aha! See you accept it."

"I do not!" I said and huffed, turning away.

She laughed. "You do..."

I ignored her comment. When we reached my house, I asked her if she'd like to come over at my house but she had to help her mom with the groceries so I bid her goodbye and entered my empty house. Mom wouldn't be home till five hourse or so.

After taking shower for half an hour, I got to doing my homework. Another hour wasted. I snapped my books closed and decided to go out for a walk to take in some fresh air. I wanted to call Dylan, but maybe he is still busy with Stacey, and I wouldn't like to call him and hear Stacey's barbie voice in the background.

I put on my favourite pair of faded blue jeans, sneakers and tee and a hoodie over it and left for a walk after leaving a note for mom.

A cool wind was blowing. The sun was about to set, the sky was getting darker. Birds were chirping. I put on the speakers of my ipod and started taking a brisk walk. Soon enough Ke$ha was blasting in my speakers and I was almost running. Its good to run, exercise is good.

I was so into listening Ke$ha and running that I obviously didn't see where I was going. Or should I say, into whom I was crashing.

Oof!

Books tumbling down everywhere. The impact of the crash was so massive, I sound myself falling back.

Down...down...falling...

When two firm hands grabbed my waist just in time. My heart was thudding voilently. What was going on?

I looked up at my saviour and my eyes met the eyes of a handsome stranger. Those eyes were deep dark brown, like chocolates, I thought.

I quickly got away from him. No, it wasn't anything like those sappy romantic movies show it. We weren't standing there in the same position for hours, staring into each other's eyes. One second it was there, and the next second it was gone.

"Are you okay?" I assume he spoke, because I was currently down on my knees picking up the books he had with him. All of them were coarse books. When I had all of them, I got up, dusting my jeans and handed them to him.

"Sorry, and thanks! Sorry for crashing you and thanks for saving me"

"Hey, its okay"

My ipod speakers were dangling down. I took it and stuffed it inside my pocket and turned to look back properly at this stranger.

I was sure I had never seen him around. He seemed to be my age and had jet black hair. He was quite tall, towering over me with a couple of inches.

"Hi...I'm Kevin." He said a little hesitantly. I'm new here. Just shifted."

"Oh hey, nice meeting you, I'm Alex."

He smiled in return.

"Okay...so I better get going, nice meeting you..."

"The pleasure was mine" he said again with his infectious smile.

"Okay...bye..." I said, quickly turning and heading back home. It was getting dark already.

****

"Hi Dylan!!" Another one of those squeaky freshman girls walked by Dylan. One of them even had the nerve to slip in her phone no. to him.

He simply rolled his eyes and threw it away without a glance.

"Do you always get girls this easily?" I said, my expressions a mask of shock.

"Yeah, most of the girls are crazy for me. But there are some who don't give a damn..." he said the last part, looking deeply into my eyes. Am I just over-reacting or was that comment intended for me?

I couldn't help rolling my eyes. "Why don't you go for one of them instead of them all?"

"I don't want to!"

"Then how will you ever find the girl which is absolutely perfect for you?"

"I don't need to find any girl." He said dismissively.

"Yes you do. You know that's exactly what you need to remove that phobia you have from commitment!"

"What?! Oh god Alex, you really amuse me! Me? Scared of committing? Psshtt!"

"You know its true" I said giving him a knowing look.

"You're wrong Alex. I can very well commit to a girl if I want, if she's worth it. But to be honest, I've not met any girl who's even remotely like that."

"And you'll never meet her, because you just don't give girls a chance. In the blink of an eye you change girls. How can you possibly know anything about her when you don't take time to know her?"

"There's one girl I've spent a LOT of time with and it has been a complete waste of time"

"Who?"

"Stacey"

"Right! Just yesterday you were snogging her passionatly"

"Alex! Those kisses mean absolutely nothing to me. Any of the kisses I've had mean nothing"

"Not even one of them?"

"Not one. No matter which girl I've kissed, the kisses mean nothing to me."

It kind of hurt when he said that. Afterall, I's been one of the 'girl's' he has kissed, and to think those moments of passion we had shared hadn't mean a thing to him obviously hurt.

Oh stop thinking about those kisses! Yeah, they were hot and I'd love to relive every one of them, I shouldn't want to. Not when they don't mean a thing to the one who gave them to me. It had been the same for him like it is with every girl who he kisses.

"Who knows Dylan, maybe Stacey is the one for you!" I said sarcastically. "Besides, not all girls are like her. Give the decent ones a chance"

"Whatever..."

"You know Stacey? Have ever even take her on a date?"

"Well no! I didn't have to go through the torture they call date to impress her. A night in my bed was all she needed."

"See! You don't know her. Get to know her and maybe you'll realise she's the one who's destined to be the mother of your future kids!"

"No way! I mean she wouldn't be a good mom"

"Now now Dylan, we don't speak about anyone that way, it's rude!" I said teasingly. He rolled his eyes.

"What's up guys? Missed me Dylan?"

Speak of the devil and the devil arrives.

Dylan was staring at her. Hmph! He wants her so much, doesn't he? Oh he will get her. He will get her for sure!

"Oh Stacey, we both were just talking about how it would be a Fabulous idea for him to take you for a date or something" I said, a smiled platered on my face.

"Oh wow! That is like such a good idea! Yes baby, we should definitely try it"

Dylan shot me a dirty look. Haha! Wants her, doesn't he? "...or, we could have some fun in my bedroom, just you and me, minus the clothes"

Stacey giggled her high pitched giggle. "No sweetie, maybe some other time. I want a date for now!"

I smiled triumphantly at Dylan. He scowled at me. "Sure sweetie, but if only Alex comes along" he replied smirking at me.

"What?! A date's supposed to be for two people. If you think I'll tag along with you two and watch you both going 'coochie-coochie-coo' then I'm sorry to disappoint you!"

I hopefully turned to Stacey in the hope that she'll refuse. Stacey frowned but added "Sure, she can. I'll bring a friend of mine to give you company" saying this she walked off.

I turned to Dylan. "You are so dead" I mouthed. Dylan, as if sensing what I was going to do next instantly ran off. I rushed after him, my heavy science book was still in my hands. I rushed after him. I was quick and beat him with that book.

"I hate you! How could you?!" I shouted at him.

"How could I? How could you?! Thanks to you I'm stuck with Stacey. She's good in bed and all but she definitely sucks as an acquaintance."

"So what?! You just can't use girls like that. If you don't like hanging aroundd her why do you pretend to like her?"

"So that I can bang her whenever I want!"

"Ew Dylan, you digust me." I said walking off.

"Don't ditch me tonightt Alex! Do not ditch me if you know what's good for you!"

"Let your stupid ass rest assured, I won't ditch you okay?" I replied back.

Tonight is gonna be fun.
