"Earth to Pond, Earth to Pond," the Doctor called out as he let himself fall on the bed next to Nina. "Come in, Pond." Nina placed her head on the same pillow as him, trying to hear what Amy would say through the earpiece.

"Doctor!" the ginger yelled out through the thing, making both Time Lords jump. The Doctor flinched and sent his hand to his ear. The feedback resonated through the whole room. "Oh, sorry," Amy said in a much lower tone of voice.

"Could you not rip my new earpiece, Pond?" the Doctor snapped, adjusting the volume on the thing.

"Ask her how the TARDIS is coping," Nina whispered in his other ear.

"How's the TARDIS coping?" the Doctor repeated, not realising Amy could hear them both.

"See for yourself," Amy told them, holding out the hand set for them to hear. The two Time Lords flinched at the sound.

"Ooh, nasty," the Doctor commented, slowly sitting up in concern.

"She's locked in a materialisation loop, trying to land again but she can't," Nina said as she followed the Doctor, who nodded in agreement.

"And whatever's stopping her is upstairs in that flat," Amy explained. "So go upstairs and sort it."

"I don't know what it is, yet. Anything that can stop the TARDIS from landing is big. Scary big." the Doctor said, getting up and standing on the bed. Nina frowned at the sight of his shoes on the sheets.

"I don't like this," Nina followed suit, except for the shoes part. "I don't like this at all."

"Wait, are you scared?"

"I can't go up there until I know what it isand how to deal with it. And it is vital that this man upstairs doesn'trealise who and what we are," the Doctor rambled, ignoring Amy's question. He started lightly bouncing on the bed, which made Nina hold his arm for support so she wouldn't fall.

"Which means no sonicking," Nina guessed.

"Yeah, no advanced technology," he agreed. "I can only use this because we're on scramble."

"What does that mean?" Amy asked.

"Means that to anyone else hearingthis conversation, we're talking absolute gibberish," Nina explained.

"Now all we got to do is pass for normal human beings," the Doctor said jumping off the bed, bringing Nina down with her. She shushed him for all the noise, but didn't say anything. He walked to the dresser and picked up a pair of shades, placing them on his face. "Simple. What could go wrong?" Nina snorted, making him frown at him.

"Have you seen you?" Amy asked him.

"What she said," Nina nodded.

"You two are just going to be snide? No helpful hints?"

"Hmmm, here's one: bowtie, get rid!" Amy exclaimed at him as if she'd already repeated that statement lots of times.

"Bowties are cool," the Doctor told her as he checked himself in the mirror. "Come on, Amy, I'm a normal bloke. Tell me what normal blokes do."

"They watch telly, they play football, they go down the pub."

"I could do those things."

"You could not," Nina shook her head at him, a smirk on her face.

"I don't, but I could," he corrected, his smile growing.

A crashing sound interrupted their little flirting. The lights flickered a few times and they could hear Amy screaming as if she was trying to hold on to something. Nina got a piercing headache that made her flinch, but as soon as she laid eyes on the two clocks in the room, she felt shivers up and down her whole body. The Doctor looked at the clock and back at her with a concerned look, as if he knew that this was affecting her in some way.

The needles from the clocks turned back and forth uncontrollably. The Doctor pulled up his sleeve and checked his watch, which was doing the exact same thing.

"Interesting. Localised time loop," the Doctor spoke.

"What's all that?" Amy asked between yells.

"Whatever's happening upstairs is still affecting you," the Doctor explained. It suddenly stopped, along with Amy's screams, and Nina could finally breathe again, although she hadn't realised she'd stopped doing so.

"It's stopped... ish," Amy told them. "How 'bout your end?" The Doctor gave Nina a concerned look, but spoke up when she nodded, breathing heavily on the bed.

"Our end's good... ish," he told her.

"So... doesn't sound great but... nothing to worry about, right?" Amy asked him, fear audible in her question.

"No. No, no, not really," he obviously lied. Nina didn't understand how Amy didn't pick up on the shakiness of his voice. "Just keep the zig-zag plotter on full, that'll protect you." He carefully sat down next to Nina, wrapping an arm protectively around her frame.

There was a silence, before Amy let out another scream.

"Amy, I said the zig-zag plotter!" the Doctor sounded alarmed.

"I pulled the zig-zag plotter!" She yelled right back at him in annoyance.

"Are you standing with the door behind you, Amy?" Nina took over, taking the ear bud from the Doctor, earning a frown from him.

"Yes!"

"Okay, take two steps to your right and then pull it again," she tried to make it work. After a few seconds, the loud noises coming from the TARDIS ceased, and they all took deep breaths of relief.
