"You are not a psychopath!" Amy suddenly said, walking towards Nina and the Doctor. "Why would she be a psychopath?"

The Doctor and Melody started to circle eachother.  That's when Nina decided it was too much for her, and she took a step back.

"Oh, Mummy, Mummy, pay attention. I was trained and conditioned for one purpose. I was born to kill the Doctor." Nina froze at her words.

"I'm sorry, what?" She asked incredulously.

"Oh, I know," River said, walking to her. "You have history with that too. But I have to say, it wasn't as bad as you made it sound," Melody said, stopping directly in front of her, her face a few centimeters away from hers.

"If you don't think it wasn't as bad, then you don't really know what I've been through," Nina countered. River pouted, stealing a peck from her lips before Nina could even react.

"Aw, poor Nina," she teased, then walking back to the Doctor. He saw the look of confusion on Amy and Rory's face.

"Demons Run, remember? This is what they were building, my bespoke psychopath," he explained. River walked to him and they stood face-to-face.

"I'm all yours, sweetie," River smirked, kissing his lips too. He immediately pulled back when she did, a look of horror on his face.

"You don't get to call me that," he told her.

"Who does, River Song?" She asked. "Who is that, anyways?"

"An old friend of mine," the Doctor informed her. "And, no." Nina halted, feeling weird. It wasn't even a good weird, it was a bad weird. Like 'my heart is about to give up' kinda weird. She grabbed her chest at the sharp pain she was suddenly feeling. Except no one noticed, only River, and she made sure the attention was all on her as she kept talking, Nina now kneeling on the ground, trying to stabilize her breathing.

"Stupid name," Melody told hik with a shrug. She slowly walked to the window that was blasted open. It was the one they had destroyed, crashing the TARDIS through. "Oh, look at that!" She exclaimed, stepping onto the sill. "Berlin on the eve of war. A whole world about to tear itself apart," she said and then turned around to face her parents. "Now that's my kind of town. Mum, Dad, don't follow me. And, yes, that is a warning."

"What about us," the Doctor asked. "No warning?"

"No need, my love," River said. "The deed is done and so are you."  The Doctor's legs wobbled and he fell down, Rory and Amy grabbing him before he hit the ground. He gripped his chest in pain.

"Doctor, what's wrong?" Amy asked him desperately.

"Nina?" Rory asked. He seemed to finally notice that she was also on the ground, clutching her chest in her hands, a pained expression on her face. He ran to her, trying to keep her shoulders straight as he saw her difficulty to breathe.

"What have you done?" The Doctor asked, agony clear in his face, but also concern as he watched Nina struggle. "River!"

"Oh, River, River, River," Melody teased. "More than a friend, I think."

"What have you done!?" He yelled at her, his knees finally giving up as he collapsed to the ground.

"It was never going to be a gun for you, Doctor, the man of peace who understands every kind of warfare, except, perhaps, the cruellest." The Doctor's eyes lit up in realization as he brought a hand to his face, rubbing it against his lips, feeling the substance on them.

"Kiss kiss," River blew the two a kiss and jumped out of the window. At the same time, Nina found herself stuck in a coughing fit.

"What's she done to you two?" Rory asked desperately as he rubbed his hand against Nina's back, trying to soothe her. When she wa is finally able to breathe properly again, Rory leaned her against the debris next to her, a wooden window door.

"Poisoned us... but I'm fine," he tried. "Well, no, I'm dying, she's fine. Well, no, we're both dying, but I've got a plan," the Doctor rambled.

"What plan?" Amy asked him.

"Not dying," he said with a strain to his voice as he groaned. "See, fine!"

"How reassuring," Nina mumbled, her voice hoarse from the coughing. Amy and Rory walked to the Doctor to help him stand, and he groaned along with it.

"Okay, what do we do?" Amy asked them. "How do we help you two?"

"Take this! The TARDIS can home in on it," he handed Amy the sonic. Nina would have given it to Rory, but alright. "Now, go, get after her!" He exclaimed, pushing Rory towards the window. In a few seconds, they were gone, escalating down the vines on the side of the building.

As soon as they were alone in the room, Nina and the Doctor shared a look, both worried about each other.

"Must it always be this way?" She asked, leaning back further against the wooden door. "Do we have to always be dying?" The Doctor walked to her.

"No, trust me," he said, a smirk on his face. "Dying is not all that we do." He extended his hand to her, and she took it. "Why are you so much weaker than me already?" Nina groaned as she had great difficulty to stand up, her legs barely keeping her up once she did.

"I don't know, maybe because I'm already all screwed up?" She said, looking down at her feet. The Doctor frowned and placed a hand on her cheek. He took a tissue from his pocket and wiped her lips with it, making sure to wipe the poison away completely, exactly like he had done on himself earlier. He then placed his other hand on her other cheek and pulled her close.

"Don't say that. You're not screwed up," he told her, his gaze not leaving her green eyes. Nina found herself staring at him. It was interesting how she did not see a difference between this regeneration and his last one. He was exactly the same man, twice as childish, but the same person. She knew sometimes the personality traits were so different that a regeneration could turn someone into someone else entirely, but that hadn't happened with the Doctor. Nina scoffed at him. How would he know? "I'm serious," he said. "I know you, Nina Jones. You are most definetly not screwed up."

"How do you know?" She asked him.

"You told me yourself, what happened to you," he told her. Nina tensed up. It was almost as if he was pitying her, and for some reason, she hated it. "Not now, you don't trust me enough, I can see that. I wouldn't either, I make a lot of promises I can't keep," he admitted. "But not this. Never. Never to you, I wouldn't lie to you. So when I say that you'll get better, and that you are definetly not screwed up," he said, his face getting dangerously close to hers. "I mean it," he whispered.

The Doctor took one glance down at her hands, and smiled sadly, letting go of her. Nina frowned at the mixed feeling he was giving her. Was he aware that if she wasn't screwed up before, she definetly was now thanks to him?

"Now come on, we need to find out of how to.... not die," he told her, walking with difficulty to the TARDIS.

"Yes, that would also be my preference," she agreed. Nina walked to the Doctor and held his arms, helping him up. For some reason, right now, she wasn't feeling so bad, except for the fact that she felt like she couldn't breathe. It was almost like the poison was coming at her in waves, and so were the symptoms.

When they got by the TARDIS, the smoke was still in the way. The Doctor hesitated before going in. He started to cough, before Nina ran to the console and switched on the extraction fans. The smoke was rapidly cleared away, renewing the air inside of it.

"Thank you, for that," he thanked as soon as he caught his breath.

When Nina neared the console, she started feeling a little light headed. She placed her hands on the console, and saw how they were starting to glow. She gasped as her hands started to feel numb.

"Nina!" The Doctor called out for her, but he couldn't reach her, because he fell to the ground on his knees and hands. "Nina, talk to me!" He begged her, his voice strained.

Nina could barely hear him, and she didn't even feel any pain as she fell to the ground. This was getting old, wasn't it? Her knees hit the ground and a few moments later, so did her head, and the world went dark.
