Marvelous Doctor Who Quote of the day:

“Some people live more in twenty years than others do in eighty. It’s not the time that matters, it’s the person.”

-The wise Tenth Doctor

The music started to play as Nina arrived at the tower, spotting Martha barely holding on. The wood railings of the center were destroyed, and she was trying not to fall down onto the floor of the altar.

"Martha, hold on!" She yelled out, catching the attention of the creature. She ran around the hole, extending her hand for Martha to take. Just as she was starting to pull the terrified girl back up, the music grew stronger and stronger, and Nina could feel the sonic waves bouncing inside of her head. She kneeled on the ground, holding Martha's hand even tighter now.

"Please don't let go!" Martha yelled at her once the sonic waves started to affect her too. "Please!"

"I won't, I promise!" Nina yelled back.

The music became too loud. Nina couldn't find the strength to move, but she certainly wasn't going to let go either. The sound finally affected Lazarus, who screeched and spasmed, until it fell down the center hole, falling onto the ground of the church.

As soon as he fell down, the music stopped, and the girls could hear themselves once more.

"Martha, I've got you," she said. Tish soon kneeled on the ground next to her and grabbed Martha's other hand, pulling the girl up. As soon as the three of them were safe, sitting against the walls of the tower, they let out a sigh. Nina could barely move, her head pounding with every movement.

"Nina!" They heard a yell from downstairs. "Martha?!" Martha looked at Nina, who was leaning against the wall with her head in her hands, a pained expression on her face.

"Doctor, we're okay!" Martha yelled out, making Nina flinch. "Nina are you alright?" She asked the girl. Nina looked up at her, a forced smile on her face.

"I'm just fine," Nina told her.

The three girls stood up and slowly made their way downstairs. Martha didn't mention it, but she knew that Nina had been the most affected by the loud music because she already had waves of pain even before that.

Her body was trying to catch up with this dimension's vibrations. Except, sound itself is also vibrations, and it can be used as a weapon, meaning up anyone's body. Let's just say that being in the center of a bell tower with a supersonic organ playing in Nina's ears didn't help her body getting used to this universe.

As soon as they got downstairs, Martha let out a squeal when she saw the Doctor running towards them. They hugged, and then the Doctor realized how bad Nina looked. She was pale, and sweating, but was clinging to his coat as if she was really cold. As soon as he let go of Martha, he walked to Nina.

"Are you alright?" He asked her, taking her face in his hands. Nina was about to answer but ended up just shaking her head slightly, wincing when the movement made her headache. "Come here," he told her, wrapping his arms around her smaller body. She laid her head against his chest, listening carefully to the heartbeats ss he hugged tightly.

The Doctor ended up walking her to the TARDIS after Tish left the Cathedral. Martha got in right behind them.

They were dropping Martha off back at her house, and Nina had been left inside, sitting on a bed in the infirmary. After a few minutes, the Doctor walked back in and stood in front of her.

"Are you alright?" The Doctor asked her. He soon mentally slapped himself for asking that question. "Of course you're not. But it's not just the headache, is it?" He asked, taking her hand in his. Nina lifted her eyes to look at him.

"I just--" she shook her head. "I'm tired of losing people."

"I understand that," he told her. Nina shook her head.

"No, you don't understand," she countered. "Everywhere I go, people die. Are you sure you want to be flying around with be on your back? Because that's all I can bring to you," she whispered barely loud enough for him to hear. The Doctor frowned, a look of pity upon her face as she looked down.

"That's not all you can bring me, I can promise you this," he said, bringing his other hand to her cheek. "You and I, we are alone. Just you and me in the universe. Death doesn't follow you, it follows us. We've both seen it our whole lives, want it or not. If you are just like me, you've caused enough destruction, and I know how that is, trying to make everything right and only making things worse. But that's the price that comes with it. The responsibility that comes with the power of saving people, saving planets, saving while worlds. We are bound to lose people, to sacrifice our own." Nina leaned into his hand on her cheek, a sad smile on her face.

"You remind me of a kid I knew," she told him softly. The Doctor raised his eyebrows.

"Are you comparing me to a child?" He joked, earning the smallest chuckle from her. She shook her head.

"Not the age, he is eighteen," she told him. "He lost almost everyone he loved, but still remained functional and optimistic throughout the pain. That's what reminds me of him in you. Somehow, you see the bright side of things."

"He seems smart, this kid," the Doctor told her with a smile, sitting down on the bed next to her. He grabbed her hand and kept it on his lap.

"He is." She admitted. "Probably the smartest twelve years old kid I have ever seen. He does chemistry and physics as a hobby. He goes through the dumpster to find old computers and stuff, and completely transforms them into new technology." The Doctor raised his eyebrows in surprise. Nina nodded. "I know. He has been through a lot and needed something to keep his head out of things. He lost both of his parents when he was four, in a plane crash, and came to live with his Aunt and Uncle, who were my neighbors. And then his uncle passed away a few months ago. He is tough, that kid. Been through too much for his lifetime, but doesn't let it get him down."

"He seems like a great kid. I would have loved to have met him," the Doctor told her.

"He would have loved to have met you," she said, a sad smile on her face as she remembered she would never see him again.

"What's his name?" The Doctor asked her.

"Peter," she answered. "Peter Parker."

Nina had just gotten out of her hot shower, one she had been needing for a long time. She threw on some skinny jeans and a long-sleeved blue shirt, with a black jacket over it (outfit above). Her hair was still wet and her curls were falling on her shoulders onto her waist as she was about to walk out of the bedroom the TARDIS had prepared for her.

While she had been on the shower, she had had another one of the visions she was having. Sometimes she would just see things, things that haven't happened, things that probably won't ever happen, and then she snaps out of it. She knew what it was. She knew she was the Seer, just like her father before her. Usually, she was able to hold the visions off, not see them, but this past couple of days had been hard. Maybe it was because her body wasn't used to the new Universe. Maybe it was because of the TARDIS, and time travel, or maybe it was because of the Doctor. Maybe she was having these visions because he was near her, and for some reason, that sent her brain into overdrive.

Just as she was about to get out of her room, the Doctor appeared by the door, worry visible on his face. He was obviously about to ask somethong, but he suddenly frowned, looking at he methodologically.

"What happened to your hair?" He asked her, confusion clear in his voice. Nina frowned.

"What do you mean, what happened to my hair?"

"Well, it's all.." he proceeded to grab the end of one of her curls and pull it down, watching it as it bounced back up once he let go of it.

"It's my hair, it's how it is," she said, her tone somewhat amused.

"But it wasn't like that," he pointed out.

"No, I'd straightened it," she explained, causing him to frown.

"Well, don't. It's pretty like that," he told her. Nina looked down in embarrassment, but looked up quickly enough to witness the exact moment when the Doctor remembered why he was there for. "You alright?" He asked her.

"Yes?" She said reluctantly. Why was he there? Why was he worried? "What's wrong?"

"Nothing I just--" he stopped himself. "I just thought..." he trailed off. Nina soon realized he didn't even know why he was there.

"Actually, I wanted to talk to you," she said, inviting him to get in. Nina suddenly felt her knees go weak as she almost fell. She didn't know this, but her eyes started to glow gold. The Doctor grabbed her and tried to keep her up, calling her name, but she couldn't hear him anymore.

"Doctor, Nina, who had the most number ones, Elvis or the Beatles?" Martha's voice asked through an intercom. "That's pre-download."

"Elvis," the Doctor said.

"I'm pretty sure it's the Beatles," Nina countered. The Doctor looked at her.

"Could be. Could be the Beatles."

"Could also be Elvis," Nina pointed out.

"I don't know!" The Doctor yelled out through the intercom. "We're a bit busy."

"Fine, I'll ask someone else."

Nina snapped out of her trance as the Doctor called her name worryingly. "Nina. Nina, come back to me." She closed her eyes and opened them again, and the Doctor saw that they were back to their usual bright green. "Are you okay? What just happened?" Nina stood back, her legs finally able to support her.

"That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about," she told him. Nina walked back inside the room and sat down on her bed, the Doctor following her and sitting facing her.

"Had that happened before? Does it usually happen?" He started to spam her with questions, mostly worried, but also curious, very curious.

"That's been happening quite a lot these days," she told him. "I just.. I get flashes of the future, the most probable future," she explained. "And usually I can control it, I can make it stop, but I -- I can't anymore, for some reason."

The realization was suddenly all over the Doctor's face as he stared at her for at least ten seconds, not saying a single word. It got to the point where it creeped her out a bit.

"You're the Seer," he said in realization.

"Um, yeah," she answered awkwardly. "I'm not very experienced with it, though. I'm not used to actually using these powers."

"But the title is passed on from parent to child, did no one help you in the early days?" He asked, scanning her head with his sonic screwdriver.

"Well, my father wasn't around very for very long, so no. Uh- What are you doing?"

"I'm scanning you," he said.

"That I can see." He looked at the screwdriver, reading the results.

"Yeah, so it's been happening a lot because if the whole jumping dimensions thing," he explained. "But it looks that since you haven't traveled in time for so long, that is also affecting you." Nina nodded. It was exactly as she thought. Well, for the most part. "So it's going to keep happening for now, and then when you're used to this dimension, it will probably only happen when we are mid-flight."

"Okay, that's good," she said. "Wouldn't want to scare people off, just falling to the ground every now and then," she said. The Doctor smiled.

"I think people would mostly be fascinated by it," he explained. "Seeing a girl with glowing eyes usually attracts attention." He slowly placed his hand on her cheek, and the two of them found themselves lost in each other's eyes.

Nina didn't understand what was happening to her. She had never felt like this before. It was like something was drawing them together, and even though they only knew themselves for a couple of days, now, it felt like they had known each other for years. It felt like the universe was pulling them towards each other.

And that's exactly what it was doing.
