The Intelligence Unit had finally caught their killer, but the case was far from over. With John Doe in custody, the team set to work interrogating him, trying to find out why he committed the murders.

Brian sat across from John Doe in the interrogation room. The man was unassuming, with a bland face and a blank expression. But Brian knew that beneath the surface, there was a monster.

"John," Brian said, "we know you're responsible for the murders. We have the evidence to prove it. But we need to know why you did it."

John Doe said nothing, just stared blankly at Brian. But as the interrogation went on, something in his demeanor changed. He started to get agitated, his breathing becoming shallow and rapid. And then, he spoke.

"It was the thrill," he said, his voice low and raspy. "The rush of taking a life. It was like nothing else in the world."

Brian felt a chill run down his spine. Taylor had been right, the man was a thrill seeker. But as he listened to John Doe's confession, he realized that there was something else at play.

"It was the power," John Doe continued. "The feeling of being in control. Knowing that I could take a life and no one could stop me."

Brian leaned in, trying to understand the mind of the man in front of him. "But why those victims? Why did you choose them?"

John Doe shrugged. "They were just random," he said. "I didn't have any specific reason for choosing them. They were just in the wrong place at the wrong time."

As the interrogation came to a close, Brian felt a sense of closure. They had caught the killer, and the city was safe once again. But he couldn't shake the feeling that there was still something missing. He knew that the case was far from over, and that there were more pieces of the puzzle yet to be uncovered.

But for now, he was just glad that the killer was behind bars, and that the families of the victims could finally have some peace.
