After Xander dropped me of at home, I went straight upstairs to the restroom. I set the bag on the counter before taking out the supplies. I set them out before letting out a sigh. I slowly take off me hoodie and throw it to the ground. I gently unwrap the wrapping hissing slightly in pain. I look in the mirror and see a slight scab forming while it's partially read and swollen. This is gonna hurt.

I grab my sweatshirt sleeve and place it between my teeth. I open the bottle of antiseptic and gently pour it over the wound on my stomach. I bit down trying to suppress the scream from my throat. I almost drop the bottle from the excruciating pain flowing though me. I check my cut making sure nothing is left in it before putting gauze over it then wrapping it up.

I take a break for a moment because of the pain in my side being too much to bear.

After catching my breath, I start the process all over again on my thigh. I pour the antiseptic on my thigh. I cry loudly, the sweatshirt dropping to the floor in the process. I clench my teeth together and lean over the counter, trying to keep myself from falling over. I put gauze over it wrapping it once more before taking painkillers to ease the throbbing pain and also the headache.

I look at myself in the mirror, completely forgetting about my hair. Good thing I had a hood on because my hair looks all matted and stingy. I cringe before turning on the lower faucet on the shower. I start to rinse out the unknown liquid from my hair and washing it over the tub. I whimper slightly from having to lean over the tub.

After I have finished cleaning my hair, I head towards my room and put on a clean hoodie, while throwing my clothes into the dirty bin. I slip on a pair of leggings. I freeze on the spot when I hear a loud slam from downstairs. I quickly get into action, pulling the blankets back before laying in the bed, trying not to hurt myself. I close my eyes and try to relax and act as if I'm sleeping.

I hear my door creak open and I stay completely still. I hear some incoherent grumbles and some curse words before the door is shut. The footsteps fade as they walk down the hall. I sigh in relief and just end up actually going to bed.

After a while of my overwhelming thought, I soon drift off to sleep.

----

"What the hell do you think you were fucking doing?! You're lucky we didn't get caught you stupid bitch!" My father yells in my face, as I cower away.

"I'm...I'm sorry I didn't mean to, I swear!" I scream in a plea. I instantly feel a hard slap to my cheek. I start to raise my hand to help ease the stinging pain in my cheek but get pushed to the ground harshly.

My brother stands over me with a rage-filled glare, "Now people are getting suspicious and asking questions. Now we have to fucking move because of you!" He yells as he gives one hard blow to my stomach, causing the air to escape my lungs and me go into a coughing fit. I regain my breath moments later as they start to crowd around me. I start crawling backwards, trying to escape them.

"Where do you think you're going, sis? We aren't done with you just yet," He snaps with a smirk growing on his face.

I whimper, "No...No Stop...Please!"

I wake up abruptly feeling the sticky sweat coving my body. I glance over at my alarm clock and groan. 5:00 am. I sigh before sitting up gradually, not to irritate cuts. I guess I could get up early since I have to redress my wounds anyway. I stand up and tiredly head towards the bathroom, quietly, not to wake anyone up.

I enter the bathroom and shut the door slowly. I begin to take off my pajamas and gently unwrap the bandages. I assess them, only to see them slightly swollen still but thinly scabbed over. I turn the water on to the shower, waiting for it to heat up before getting in. I step in, the water running down my body as I hiss lowly and bit my lip. My body soon relaxes my achy muscles. I wash my hair and, carefully, wash my body not to reopen my cuts.

After I'm finished, I step out of the warm confinements of the shower, goosebumps instantly forming on my skins, shivering slightly. I wrap a towel around my hair and body before heading out of the bathroom and towards my room. I drop my towel to the ground and put on a bra and pair of underwear. I take a glance at myself in the mirror letting out a gasp.

I look terrible. My eyes have dark bags under them and my skin is so pale, littered with differently toned scars. I also take into account the multiple black, purple and yellow-green bruises practically covering my body. Tears brim my eyes, but I quickly push them down. Crying isn't going to do anything in this situation but what have I done to be put in this situation.

I shake my head, pulling myself from my thoughts to finish getting ready. I put on a baggy shirt, hoodie, and a pair of skinny jeans. I then slip on my shoes and grab my bookbag, heading down the stairs.

I enter the kitchen, setting my bookbag on the floor. I grab the ingredients to make breakfast starting to make them their food.

----

Once I've finished I set the table then grab myself an apple to eat. 'When was the last time I ate?' I can barely remember.

I continue eating and just as I finish, I hear two pairs of footsteps heading down the stairs. I grab my bookbag and go out the doorway to the living room ready to leave.

"Did you hear about Emilia's new friend dad? She was talking to someone," Anthony says looking over at me with amusement on his smug face. Before I can counter his statement, my father speaks.

"What the fuck is he talking about?!" He says raising voice while looking at me intently with narrowed eyes.

I start shaking my head back and forth, "N...No, I don't have any friends. Some girl tried to talk to me but I pushed her away, I promise," I nervously plea. He gets up and comes over to me with a hard glare. I stay root to my spot, unable to move, knowing that will make the situation worse. He slaps me across the face, hard, and I whimper lowly as I cradle my cheek, trying to ease the stinging pain.

"That will teach you a fucking lesson, you dumb bitch," he spits in disgurst before sitting back at the table in a huff of annoyance. I get up quickly, grabbing my stuff and heading out the door before they do anything else.

I walk down the sidewalk, with a slight limp. Once I see the school, I sigh in relief knowing I will get to rest my body for even a moment but I have to go to my locker first. I walk heading towards my locker. Once I reach it I put in my combination, grabbing my stuff for class and head down the hall.

----

The lunch bell rings and I decide to just head to the library instead. I enter through the threshold and feel a wave of comfort wash over me. I just love books and the smell, for some reason, relaxes me. Weird, I know. I walk over to the fiction section and grab a couple of books that catch my eye before taking a seat at one of the tables to read.

Once the 25 minutes are up, I hear the bell rings, signaling the end of lunch. I walk up to the librarian at her desk to check out my books. She scans them after asking for my name, then hands them back to me.

"These are due back 2 weeks from today," the woman says giving me a kinds smile.

"Will do," I say, heading out the library doors. I walk towards my class but catch sight of my brother with Makenna walking down the hall together. I quickly look around, hoping to avoid them. I make it just in time, them not even looking my direction. I let out a sigh, glad they didn't see me.

"Hey, Emilia. How's it going?" Someone asks from behind me. I'm not alone. Panic instantly jolts through me, causing me to quickly turn around. I let out a shallow sigh, noticing it's just Clara.

"Hey, it...it's going good," I mutter, completely ready to walk back out but she stops me, grasping my arm comfortingly.

"Are you alright?" She asks, her eyes holding concern.

"Yea...yeah, why would you ask?" I say while faking a smile.

She shakes her head, "I don't know really? Just making sure. If you need anything or some to talk to don't hesitate to come to me, okay?" She says so kindly. Why does she care so much? No one ever cared this much before.

"Ok..okay, thanks," I say starting to walk out again.

"Anytime," she says before turning back to the sink.

I glance around the hall, seeing Xander and two other guys talking down the hall. I let out a sigh because that's the way to my class. I slowly start walking that way with my books clutched in my hand with my head down, hoping he doesn't notice me.

"Hey Emilia," I hear Xander say and silently whine, turning my attention towards his. He motions for me to come over to him and can't help but scream, 'Bad Idea' 'Bad Idea'. So, either go over to him or get beat from the possibility of my brother seeing me. I didn't even have to think. I continue walking, mumbling a 'sorry' before heading to class.

I enter the classroom and take my seat in the back. I then remember that I have this class with Xander. After a few moments, Xander enter the class and takes a seat in his spot next to me. He looks over at me with a confused look.

"Why did you just leave?" He questions, leaning over slightly as I just look at him.

"So...sorry, I didn't want to be late to class," I say. I mentally facepalm at the lame excuse.

"Okay then," he says. After a few moments, the bell rings for class.

"See, we would have had plenty of time," He says, amused by my excuse. 'If he only knew'

I turn my attention to the front of the class and listen to the teacher start lecture while I take notes.

After what felt like forever we finished the notes, I start packing up my stuff to head out of class but soon gets stopped by the teacher once again.

"Hold on students," she says and everyone lets out a groan, "Alright class, I've got a project I'm gonna assign to you," she continues, and queue more groans, "Ah, ah, ah. Hold on. I will allow you to pick your partners and everyone must have a partner. There is an even amount of you in this class, so groups of 2 only please," everyone does a mumbled yes, except me and she continues, "You will have to do a 20-slide PowerPoint due next week on Friday to present the class. It will be on a body system I assign to your group as you leave the class," she finally finishes and everyone starts standing.

"Hey Emilia, you wanna be my partner?" Xander asks with a slight smile on his face. I look around noticing everyone else in pairs.

I glance back at him with a forced smile, "Sure," I say, but know this isn't gonna be good for me. My father is really going to kill me now.
