As the team neared the camp, Loki grew more tense and impatient. He wouldn't have believed himself capable of caring this much about another being if he hadn't been feeling it then.

They finally reached the camp after the long walk and Banner Hulked out as Steve charged at the first person he saw in the camp.

Battle and gun fire took place shortly after and everyone split up to do their assigned jobs amid the chaos.

Thor went to one of the buildings and smashed through the wall. Somehow, Loki knew exactly where you were. It was something he had no time to question, but the moment he stepped out of the woods and into the clearing of the camp, it was as if his mind became a compass that pointed to your exact location.

He made a made dash to the small building and phased through the wall. The scene before him made his stomach turn. You were tied to a chair in the middle of the room, the ropes cutting into your wrists, your head slumped to one side, hair hanging over your face and your body was completely limp.

His eyes landed on the large form in the corner that was coming over to him in long strides. The white rage boiling inside him burst out of his body in a blaze of lightening hot energy that exploded like a bomb. The building itself shattered to pieces under the raw force of it, and the guard laid a fried corpse upon the rubble strewn dirt floor. Not a piece of it had harmed you or he.

Loki walked over to you with hastened steps and made the ropes tying you down burst open with the flick of his hand. Without the support of the ropes you fell forward, but he caught you in his arms before you had time to hit the floor.

He looked down at your face, which had a bruise that covered most of your left cheek.

"Loki?" You murmured faintly, eyes still lulling shut. You recognized the sweet comfort of his arms around you.

He tenderly brushed the hair out of your face, pressing his forehead against yours. "I'm here," he whispered. "I'm here. You're safe."

He stood to his feet, holding you bridal style as close as he possibly could. You rested your head against his shoulder, letting yourself slip back into peaceful unconsciousness.

He went to find Thor, and when he did he found him to be with Natasha, Clint and three other people he didn't recognize with him. Loki assumed they where the missing agents.

Natasha, who was awake, was held by Clint, who seemed to be in better shape than you two. It seemed his guard had been nicer than Natasha's, and Natasha's nicer than yours.

Loki handed you to Thor, not quite finished with the mortals who had tortured you. He needed to let out the rage that boiled within him, or it would tear him apart.

He stepped out into the middle of the camp, in the deepest thicket of battle. He could feel the wrath within him swarming like angry wasps; all he needed to do was unleash it. Time seemed to slow as he closed his eyes, inhaling, channeling all the power to a single focus point. He snapped his eyes back open, and it detonated violently. A bright green light spread over the camp and turned everything in its wake to dust.

When the ashes settled, he could make out the forms of only the Avengers and the missing agents. Collapsing to his knees in a sudden fit of fatigue, he failed to noticed everyone's shocked stares. Not even he knew he was powerful enough to do that.  Looking around himself slowly, Loki looked at the waste that was once the camp, then blinked.

"Nice job, Reindeer Games," Tony said, breaking the long silence. Loki looked at him, but didn't respond. Inside, he had to admit, he felt a little better. The data had all been destroyed, but everyone had a feeling that it might be for the better if no one had their hands on it.

Thor, who had passed your unconscious body off to Steve, grabbed Loki's arm and pulled him to his feet. A bit light-headed but not unstable, Loki took you from the soldier and set off toward the jet without a word.

Clint limped along with Natasha, whom he had refused to put down, and everyone started following. Natasha and Clint were so happy to be reunited safely that they couldn't hide their feelings from everyone any longer. As soon as they got in the jet Clint set Natasha down and sat next to her, warping her up tight in his arms. They got some looks, but they were to wrapped up in each other to care; or even notice for that matter.

Loki sat down as the jet started to take off and held you close to him. Everyone talked on the way home except he. He simply relished the feeling of your warm body close to his. You didn't wake up for the whole ride home and when you got there Loki took you to the little hospital clinic that Tony had on hand in the Tower for training accidents.

He laid you down gently on a bed. Natasha and Clint soon followed and took a seat, murmuring things to each other. There were three nurses. One went over to Natasha and Clint and two looked you over.

Loki sat at your bedside, watching them hook you up to things and patch you up a bit, cleaning your gashes and bandaging your cuts, some of which were fairly deep.

After the nurses had finished with you, they gave Loki sympathetic looks and left the room. He took your hand in his a murmured, "please be okay."

He looked up and saw Natasha and Clint had been put to sleep. He didn't know whether the nurses did that because they actually needed to rest or because they where being gushy and gross and annoying. Either way he was grateful.

After what seemed like years, you finally started stirring. He got up and scooted his chair closer to the bed. "Y/N?" He said softly. Your eyes fluttered open and you looked over at him, confused. The world was a bit blurry and you couldn't see straight. You tried to sit up, but a firm hand pushed you back down. "Easy, love. You're safe, don't try to sit up."

You laid back down obediently and shut your eyes in an attempt to get the world to stop spinning. "Are Natasha and Clint okay? Did we find the other agents? Were they okay? Did we find what they were doing in that camp?" You peppered him with questions, despite your dizziness.

He chuckled in amusement. "Now you sound like yourself." He looked up at the sleeping forms of your fellow assassins and said, "we have everyone. They are fine. Banner went with Tony and the other agents back to S.H.I.E.L.D. They will be back in a few days and tell us all about it. Get some rest."

You sighed, relaxing. Opening one eye, you looked at him and said, "Come lay next to me. Don't leave me, or I'll have words with you once I'm fit. Violent words."

"I certainly wouldn't want that," he said in mock terror, acknowledging your tease. Smiling, he slipped beside you on the narrow bed and wrapped an arm around your shoulders. Only when he was utterly sure you were asleep did he lean in to kiss your temple.

Today had been rather exhausting.

Okay rescue mission was a go! Yay! What do you think guys? I am DYING to know if this is good or not!!!!!
