Sophie's POV

I sat across from Logan. I was uneasy with what Ashley had told me. Did Logan really have drawings of me? I had to get him to show me. Of course, I knew the whole thing of him liking me was bogus. He and I could barely stand each other, so the idea he may have a crush on me? Was not happening.

But my mind keeps going back to those drawings. How do I get him to show me those sketches? If I know him right, he probably drew pictures of me making ugly faces, or doing crazy posses. I can not allow him to send those along with his university application.

If possible, I'd steal them and burn them.

Without thinking, my pencil tapped on my notebook repeatedly. I leaned my chin on top of my palm, with my elbow resting on the island top.

"Soph?" I could hear a faint voice, but my mind mechanized how I would get him to show me those darn drawings.

"Sophie?" Logan called out my name, startling me and making me jump in place.

"Huh?What, Logan? Don't yell at me. You scared the hell out of me." I placed my pencil down and gulped on my soda.

He chuckled, nodding his head and hanging his head low. He cleaned his hands with a napkin and then his lips. Standing, he took the wrapper of his food to the trash bin and tossed it inside.

"I said I'm all done eating. Should we start working?" He said as he came back and sat across from me on the kitchen island.

"Oh, um, yeah. I've been waiting for us to start for the past hour or so." I said sarcastically, making him roll his eyes.

"We've only been here for twenty minutes or so Soph! Don't be so dramatic." He grabs his book bag off the floor and gets a few books out, reaching over to where he had left the list of books Mrs. McGee had assigned to us for this report.

"Ok, so she's giving us the option of ten books. If we split five and five it should be easier don't you think?" He says as he places more books on the counter.

I narrowed my eyebrows, realizing these are the books on the list. "When, and where did you get these books?" I asked pointing towards the stack of books on the countertop, grabbing one in my hand.

He smiles and shrugs his shoulders. "I got them from Mrs. McGee. I went back after our second class break and asked her for help finding them. She said she had been waiting for the first person to come to ask for help, and she happily gave me a copy of each book on the list." He says proudly, making me roll my eyes.

"Well, aren't you a charmer? Wait! You've been caring all these books AND your football gear on you all day?" He shrugs his shoulders tilting his head to the side and sipping on his soda.

"Yeah! Why? What's wrong with that?"

"Nothing. It's just. Didn't your back get tired of caring for all that? Plus all the books all the other teachers have been passing out today? I mean, I didn't get a lot of books passed out today, and yet my back is already feeling sore." I say as I slouch forward, gripping my shoulder with my hand.

He chuckles and rolls his eyes. I suddenly sneezed. Seems I've been sneezing here and there today, but I had not paid any attention to it.

"What?" I asked as I realized he was staring at me. "You've been sneezing all day. Are you coming down with a cold Soph?" I narrowed my eyes and tilted my head to the side.

"No! I'm fine. Don't worry about it. It's probably allergies." I answered him.

"Allergies? You don't have allergies, Sophie." He replied sarcastically.

"Of course I do."

"Oh really? So what are you allergic to?"

"I'm allergic to your bull," I say shrugging my right shoulder, he bursts out laughing, throwing his head back and nodding in disbelief.

"Oh my god, Sophie! Seriously." He says while chuckling.

"What? I am. Now can we start please?"

He clears his throat and looks at me smiling. "You're something else, you know that?"

"Sure Prince Charming. Now let me see the list. Saves me time from having to dig through my backpack to look for it."

I stared at the list, making sure he had the right books, but I can feel he was studying my every move. It made me a little self-conscious, and my face began to feel hot. I knew I had to do something to distract myself or make him stop looking at me.

"Logan?" I asked looking up at him.

"Yeah!" He jolts up, seemingly, I had brought him out of his trance.

"Show me your drawings," I asked placing my hands on both sides of the paper, holding it steady.

His eyes widen, and I could see his cheeks go red, just like when he was done with practice. "What?" He asked surprised.

"I said, show me your draw-"

"I heard what you said. But, why are you suddenly interested in my drawings? Till this day, you didn't even know I took art classes." He narrowed his eyes, I can tell he was still curious about my sudden interest. But I still had to get him to show them to me.

"Oh come on? Can you blame me? Before today you and I didn't have a suitable conversation other than you yelling at me, or defending Amber, even after you'd see how she would be the one to pick on me." Even if he tried to differ, he knew I was right.

He took a long sigh, hanging his head low. "Fair enough. I'm sorry for that Sophie. I know I've been a-"

"Asshole! Jerk! Dimwit! Complete jackass!" I could have continued but he interrupted me like always.

"Ok, I get it! Gee!" He slanted forward, placing his elbows on the island top and running his hands through his hair, and rubbing his face.

Logan gets up and begins to walk upstairs, stopping after a few steps and glancing at me "Well, aren't you coming?" I figured he wanted me to follow him up to his room, and though I wanted to be sassy and tell him to bring them down, I was not going to ruin the opportunity of seeing these so-called drawings.

"Yeah, I'm coming." I quickly got up off my stool and walked towards the steps, and went up the stairs behind him. He stopped towards the stairs leading to the attic and opened the door.

"Wait! You sleep in the attic?" I smiled in disbelief. "Yes, something wrong with that?" He narrowed his eyes and smirked a little.

"No. It's just-"

"Just what? Say it! I know you got a smart-ass comeback to tell me, what?" He sounded a bit irritated, and I suddenly felt like an ass myself. We have spent years at each other's throats, we don't even know how to have a civilized conversation.

"I sleep in the attic too. In my house. There's more room for all my books and all my art supplies." His eyes softened and he smiled, nodding his head slightly. I can't tell if he was surprised or was thinking I was bluffing.

He opened his door, and we walked upstairs. His room was amazing. Though mine was slightly bigger, and there were more windows for natural light. His bed stood in the middle, between the only two large windows behind the bedrest. To the right of the entrance, is a huge television with game consoles and games all over the floor with two bean bags in front of it. My guess is, he spent many days playing with Steven here.

To the left of the television was a shelf with books of all kinds and a football in blue and red. To the other side of the room, towards the middle, he had a shelf full of trophies and awards, and my favorite, an easel with a cup full of brushes and paint tubes. Though there were clothes scattered here and there, his room smelled clean and fragrant, it smelled just like him.

Ok fine, I admit it. He always smelled good. And thanks to Troy, who knows about colognes and all, I knew that Logan wore Aqua Di Gio, by Giorgio Armani. His room smelled just like it.

To the left of the shelf was a door which I presume was a bathroom, because on the right side, his door was opened, and I can see his clothes inside, I could see his duffle bag tossed in front of it and his helmet had fallen on the other side of the door.

"So, come on in. Make yourself comfortable. I'll get the drawings out." He walked towards his desk placed behind the door where we had entered. I walked slowly, turning my body all around, glancing at his room.

I sat on the side of his bed, I could see him grabbing a huge carrying case. It looked like one of those professional folders artists place their drawings inside.

He came forward, dragging his chair behind him and turning it in front of me, as he took a seat in it.

He reached in, grabbed a lot of large sheets of thick sketching paper, and handed them to me. I was in awe at his work. They were so good. There were drawings of his mom and drawings of his sister, she was adorable. Drawings of landscapes that were beautiful. They were so good. He was really good. It looked like I was staring at actual pictures. The shading and colors were vibrant and so well-blended. He was a true professional.

But my eyes widened and my mouth gawked open when I finally got a glimpse at what Ashley had mentioned. Two pictures of me. He had drawn me, I didn't know why he'd chosen to draw me, but they were so good.

"What do you think? Is it ok, that I drew you? I don't have to turn those in, I can take them off my application folder if you're uncomfortable." He said in a low voice, his hands rested on his knees.

I looked at him, and then back to the picture. I was completely speechless.

"Why did you draw me, Logan? I thought you could barely stand my presence. So why did you decide-" I turned to the next page and my eyes widen in surprise.

It was a picture of what looked to be him and me in a warm embrace. I looked at him, shocked. His head hung low and his fingers pursed together. I could tell he was nervous, his left foot tapped like he always did when he was nervous.

"Logan. I, um." My nerves started going crazy. A surge of butterflies ranted in my stomach. "Sophie-"

"I- I need to go home. I'll see you tomorrow, ok?" I jolted up and made my way to the door. He quickly pulled me back and turned my body. My body crashed against his chest, and the butterflies got crazier inside my stomach. He held me tight around my waist, my hands caught between me and his chest. He was well built, I had to give him that.

"Sophie, don't leave. Please, just look at me." He asked in a low husky voice, my eyes averted from his chest to his Adam's apple.

"Sophie, please. Look at me." I could hear his voice, but I was far too nervous to look at him in his eyes. I closed my eyes and turned my head away.

He took my chin with his fingers and slowly pulled me towards him. "Please, Sophie. Look at me?" He asked again, and I slowly opened my eyes. He had a concerned look, slowly he closed the gap between us, and I knew he was aiming for a kiss. I know I should pull away, but somehow I just couldn't.

Slowly, I tilted my head and closed my eyes, I could feel his lips slowly grazing mine, and I slowly parted my lips to await the kiss.

"Hey, Lo-, oops! Sorry." Ashley burst the door open, making us pull apart quickly. He rubbed the back of his neck and turned his body, walking towards the bed and picking up the drawings, placing them back inside the folder.

"Um, mom's home. She wants to know if you're hungry. She's getting dinner ready. I'll uh, I'll wait downstairs."

I folded my hands across my chest and I stood there nervously. The air suddenly felt awkward. "I should go with Ashley. I'll wait downstairs." I said in a low voice.

We both stood there, our eyes locked on each other. "Sophie, I, I'm sorry about -"

"It's ok. Don't worry about it ok?" I turned on my heel and gripped the doorknob, opening the door.

"If it's ok with you, I rather go home. Can we, start tomorrow with our project?" His eyes widen, and he looked away.

"Fine, whatever. I'll take you home." His eyebrows narrowed, and I could hear his teeth clench, his jawline had stiffened and he turned grabbing a hoodie from the headboard, walked past me, and grabbed his keys off the desk.

"Let's go." He said, stiffly, walking past me. I could tell he had suddenly changed back to his usual bad mood. I sighed and walked downstairs slowly as he quickly walked down.
