Logan

I was extremely tired. I wanted to just get home and sleep next to the girl I am head over heels for. We loaded everything back in the vehicles and finished our food. I had a snickers bar stuck between my teeth as I placed my rifle back in its case.

Sophie startled me, running her hand across my back, sending shivers through my spine and taking away my snickers bar. She bit it and smiled, I couldn't help but give her a kiss on her lips.

I grabbed her from her waist pulling her against me. Her soft hands hugged me around my neck. I didn't shave this morning since I was in her house. My short stubble grazed her making her giggle.

How can I put into words how I feel about this girl? She's changed me so much in such a short time. I'm not the moody bastard my friends used to call. I'd care less about anyone other than my mom and sister before her.

She's taught me to be persistent. To try my hardest and never give up on what I want. I came back feeling defeated this summer. Though I never loved Amber, it was a sure thing to stay with her because I thought Sophie would never give me a chance. I settled for less than average.

The only thing I was passionate about was my art. I could dream, and create my dreams through art. Which always had something to do with Sophie as well. She was my favorite muse when I held a brush or pencil in hand.

"So! Ready to get out of here and get ready for the party?" She asked excitedly. I grunted, I was feeling a bit out of the weather. But, I know she and my family have been planning a small party for me.

"Can't we just go on a date like we do every Saturday? I just want to spend my evening with you. We can go out to dinner, maybe a movie. . .or cuddle on my bed." I teased her, running my hands inside her shirt along her back and waist as I kissed her neck. She giggled in return, letting a small squeal out, making me laugh.

"No. Everything is already set up for your party. Babe, you know your mom's been working hard for tonight. She'll be crushed to see you go MIA on her. We can go on a date tomorrow if you want?" She said, going on her tippy toes, placing her forehead on mine.

I grunted and held her tighter. "Fine. But I get to pick what restaurant we go to tomorrow night." I said hanging my head. She smiled kissing my nose.

"Deal." She responds.
✨✨✨✨✨

It was 8:30 in the night. The party was lit. Way more people than I expected were here. I'll be honest, we don't tend to bring gifts when we get invited to birthday parties. But the table mom had set up with a cake my aunt made for me was surrounded with gifts. I was pretty surprised by all this.

People I'd see but normally didn't talk to were here. They all seemed pretty cool. They would all go and say hi to Sophie, which I didn't mind the girls, but I'd get a bit jealous when it was a guy. They'd hug her and kiss her on the cheek.

It just made me want to cling to her and hug her the whole time, but I wasn't going to go all possessive on her. I knew she loved me, that was enough for me to trust her.

There was loud music to fill the air, giving a good vibe to dance. I took it as my cue to pull her to the dance floor- my living room. She laughed along with me, placing her hands around my neck and letting me grind against her. It was perfect. 'She was perfect.

Mom had surprised me by not going over the top with the decorations. Though she said she was tempted, she kept it simple. She realized I wasn't a little kid anymore when she saw me dancing happily with Sophie.

Her brother Aaron danced with my sister. They had become good friends over time. I first thought they'd end up dating, but I guess they only saw each other as good friends.

What did worry me was my cousin Meghan. She was falling hard for my friend Sam. But he was going to leave by the end of this year to attend Texas U. He was going away to study architecture and join their football team.

I didn't want to see her get hurt if things didn't work out. He's a great friend, but he has had a bit too many girlfriends in our school to count.

"So, birthday boy. What do you think of your party?" Sophie said as we took a break and sat out by our pool. She sat on my lap, her arm around me with a bright smile. I pulled her around her waist kissing her. I hadn't had any drinks tonight. I just wasn't in the mood for it.

I wanted to stay sober and enjoy the rest of my night. "I love it. Having you here is the biggest plus of all. I love you, Soph." I said placing my forehead around her, cupping her face in my palms, and kissing her lips softly. I could feel a smile on her face.

The butterflies in my stomach run wild every time she's near me. A warm feeling I can't explain. She completes me.

"Have you gone up to your room yet?" She asks. Since we got ready in her house, I hadn't exactly gone upstairs to my room. She had a mischievous smile.

I pulled my head back slightly, smiling. "What exactly is my girl planning? You're not trying to pull an old stunt and prank me are you?" I ask, squinting an eye with a smile. She chuckles, cupping my face and kissing me.

"No! Of course not. But! My gift is up there. Anytime you want to go check it out. . . let me know. I want to go with you so you can see." She wrinkles her nose making me smile.

"Sophie you don't have to buy me anything. I told you. You being here is far more than enough for me." I smile and hug her, placing my head against her chest.

"I know. But, you deserve it, Logan. You do so much for me too. I just wanted you to feel special on your birthday." She says in a sincere tone, hugging me.

"Ok. Let's go now." I say making her eyes wide and a bright smile on her face.

"Really?" She responds excitedly.

"Yeah. Let's go now." I say standing to my feet, holding her bridal style. By now, I was used to not caring what people thought or said when I carried her like this. This was me and her, enjoying our relationship. I carried her like this the whole way and to my room.

I turned slightly, opening the door and going inside. It was already dark outside, but my room was fully lit with strings of light she had set up. My eyes widened and I looked around mesmerized. I slowly placed her down and ran my hands through my paintings.

I have shown her various of my drawings. She had taken some of my drawings without me being aware and had them beautifully framed and hung in my room. By my game console stood a brand new victrola. It was pretty awesome, way better than the one I had before. I had the records she had made for me in the car. I couldn't wait to play them on it.

My bed was covered in rose petals, gift bags, and boxes. Each box and bag had a balloon tied to it. She had gone all out for me.

"Wow, Sophie. You did all this for me?" I gasped turning to meet her eyes. She flaunted a beautiful smile on her lips. Her pearly whites show the beauty of her soul.

"Well. . . technically, it was Aaron and Ashley. I think Jason and Meghan may have helped. But yes, I got all these for you. Some bags are more of snacks and stuff you may need every day. Like your favorite cologne, new shirts, and stuff. . . but, I also got you a few things that you had been wanting to get. But since you have been busy with practice and helping me with our project and stuff, I figured I should get them for you."

I hugged her tight and went over to the bed. "So. . . open them," She said as I sat on the edge of my bed.

She had gotten me a shit load of stuff. Including shoes and pants, shirts; you name it. Including a brand new watch that looked expensive as fuck. She looked confused seeing two boxes that she hadn't remembered boxing.

She grabbed them, looked over them, and opened the envelope that was attached to one of them.

My cousin Meghan and Aaron thought it was funny to play a prank on us. But it just ignited a heat we both were trying to suppress between the two of us.

"Did you get those too?" I asked. She nodded and gave me the note with a blush on her face.

"Let me see?" I asked grabbing the note to read it while she opened the box.

"To Logan and Sophie. May your night be complete by making your wildest dreams a reality. *wink wink*" I read out loud feeling dumbfounded.

I looked over Sophie and she had placed the top back on quickly when she saw inside. Her face was fully red with embarrassment.

"What's wrong? What's inside baby?" I said smiling, she tried to pull the box away but I grabbed it away from her quickly.

"Logan it's nothing. It's just a prank from my brother. Don't worry about it." She said trying to pull the box away.

I lifted the box over my head and held her around her waist laughing.

"Soph it's fine. If it's just a prank, then don't worry about it. Let me see inside." She puffed her cheeks and sat down, covering her face.

I softly sat next to her and opened the box. It had a really tinny g-string underwear, completely see-thru, and a red nighty to match along with a box of condoms inside. She was right, I should have not looked inside.

My heart began to raise. Faster than I would have hoped. The whole intimate feel the room had with the lights off and the dim lights from the string lights did not help.

My eyes locked with hers. The incredible urge to kiss her took over as I closed the gap between us. I pulled her over, making her straddle me. Pushing on her butt continuously making her rock her hips on top of me.

A moan escaped her as I kissed her hard. I turned us, hovering over her, roaming my hands on her body. I ran my hands under her shirt feeling the goosebumps on her skin. I was getting so turned on.

She ran her hands through my hair, tugging on it lightly as she arched her back. She was driving me insane. I felt myself harden big time, making me intensify our kiss. We were both filling it. I can't help but want her. I wanted to make her mine. I slowly parted her legs, grinding myself on her. Even with our clothes on, she felt so fucking good.

To make it worse, she wore tight leggings. I slowly trailed my hand in her thigh, lifting her shirt, trailing my hands to her stomach and the crease of her bra. She lifted herself a bit, a moan escaping her as she bit my bottom lip.

God, I don't know if I can keep holding back. I needed her. I was going insane.

Knock knock

"Logan? Is Sophie with you? Come on, we're waiting for you guys to cut the cake." Ashley's voice sounds from the other side of the door. "Fuck!" We both utter out, I hang my head on her shoulder. We both panted our breath out. She slowly traces her hand, interlacing her fingers through my hair.

"Why does this always happen to us when it's getting good?" I complain making her chuckle.

"Come on? You know Ashley. She won't stop knocking until you open the door." Her soft voice fills my ears.

"I can hear you two in there. Logan, open the door you ass." She yells from the other side of the door making Sophie giggle.

And yet again, I'm left with fucking blue balls. But fuck it... She's worth the wait.

Sophie

I was almost finished with my breakfast when the door opened. I glanced overseeing Troy and Dylan laughing as they walked in.

"Oh good, you guys are finally here." Logan stands giving them a bro-hug each and walked back with them to our table. He kisses my cheek and sits next to me.

"Hey, guys! Have a seat. We just started eating so make yourself comfy." Mom said as she places plates in front of Troy and Dylan. They both dig in grabbing lots of mom's turkey bacon, waffles, and eggs.

"So, you guys came to celebrate Logan's birthday breakfast too? That's awesome T! Thank you." I said smiling at them as I grabbed more orange juice for me and Logan.

"Well duh, baby girl!" Troy says making me roll my eyes and smile. "Well. . .that, and because I'm not passing on the opportunity to go free shoo-." He says getting a kick on the knee from under the table from Dylan.

"Shut it!" Dylan utters out through gritted teeth.

I looked at them confused and turned towards Logan who had a guilty look on his face. "What do you mean free shoo- what?" Mom asked with a concerned tone.

"Don't worry Hailey. Logan has a surprise for Sophie, but I promise she won't get hurt." Logan's mom replies hugging my mom over her shoulders.

She whispers in her ear and my mom's eyes open wide and honestly, it's making me a bit nervous. "Wait. . .no! She can't! I, I'm sorry but no." My mom responds concerned and looks between me and Logan.

"Hailey, it's nothing bad. She needs to learn this! It's very essential for a girl to know how to. . . you know. It could come in handy someday. Besides, Logan has been doing this every year with his dad since he was ten. He's an expert. He will not let anything happen to her, I promise." She looks at my mom and it makes me more curious about what Logan had up his sleeves now.

I clear my throat and look at Logan with a serious glare. He smiles and kisses my nose. "Nope! I'm not telling you. It's a surprise. And you two better shut your mouth!" He points towards T and Dylan making them giggle. He pouts and gives my mom puppy eyes making her giggle.

My mom sighs and rolls her eyes "Ok. Fine. But if anything  happens to her, I will hang you myself, Logan." He reacts by getting up and kissing my mom on her cheek hugging her tight. "Yes! Thank you, Mrs. P! I promise I will take care of her with my life! Nothing will happen to Sophie. I promise." He says cheerfully making my mom and his mom chuckle.

"What about you guys? Are you going with us too?" I look over at Meghan, Ashley, and my brothers. "Nope! We're going to the mall and then heading home to set for dinner to celebrate Logan's birthday.

"Oh, ok. Well, have fun then." I reply cheerfully.
****

The boys decided to take Troy's hummer to our destination. Lexie was dropped off by her dad as we were loading a cooler with drinks for the road and a big picnic basket my mom and Riley, Logan's mom prepared for us while we had finished getting ready.

We must have driven for about forty-five minutes until we came to a huge empty lot that looked like it went on for endless miles on end by the lake.

The boys got off along with Lexie,  Steven, and Sam who came along in a different truck. Logan held his hand out, helping me out of the car, and pulled me up bridal style, spinning me around, making me giggle as I held on to him tight around his neck.

"Ready baby girl?" He said excitedly. I wrinkled my nose and looked up at him with a smile. "Define ready? I'm completely clueless to what we're doing here." I replied making him smirk.

"See," he began as he sat on the edge of the truck and pulled me to rest between his legs, holding me by my hip bones.

"When I first came to Lakeview, dad and I made it our thing to come up here every chance we got. He taught me to shoot my first gun here. He started getting busier, and then when he became senior partner, he had to move back to Chicago. But, he came back for my birthday every year so we could come up here and shoot. It was just me, him, and a whole lot of bullets to shoot at empty can bottles. He called, letting me know he had tried to come out this year, but he has a big case right now so he was unable to." His expression became frowned. He hadn't seen his dad since July when he went to visit him.

Logan cares a lot about his dad. But lately, things have been changing. Sometimes his mom will get a call from him and she'll smile, walking away to talk to him, but comes back trying to hold back her tears. The last I want is to get involved in something too sensitive for them, but I want Logan to know I'm here for him.

I smiled wrapping my arms around him and kissing his lips as I rest my body against him. His hands softly caress my back ad he buries his face on the curve of my neck. He sighs deeply and tightens his arms around me.

"I love you, Soph!" He whispers slowly.

"I love you too babe. Now come on. Let's go watch you boys shoot those empty cans." I say smiling.

He pulls me as I hold his hand walking towards Lexie and the boys who are setting up and loading pistols and a few shotguns.

"Oh no. You're not sitting on the sidelines. You're gonna learn to shoot too baby girl." I suddenly became nervous. I have never shot a gun before, I'm swift with a bow and arrow, dad taught me when I was small. But never a pistol, never mind a shotgun.

"Wait, what? No. I can't shoot Logan." I say nervously making him chuckle. "Well, it's time to learn baby. Every girl needs to learn how to shoot. It's essential Soph. You never know when I'll come in handy." He says as he caresses my cheek and kisses my temple.

I sigh, my nerves a crazy mess, but he's right. Life is unpredictable, you never know when you'll need to hold a pistol. Especially in our small town.

"Mmmm, ok. But don't say I warned you. I got horrible sight." I say as I grunt, complaining and hoping to get my way out of this.

Lexie lives out on one of the biggest ranches here. Her dad owns a lot of cattle, she learned to shoot a gun when she was just ten herself. She can even do it while riding her stallion Picarus. I love that horse. He's a big cuddler.

Dylan and Steven set the targets far away at different distances. They run back and line up side by side. I'm not even sure if Troy knows how to shoot a gun. They all grab a gun of their own.

To my surprise, T has a shotgun of his own. He winks at me and begins shooting first with a swift move, he fires the same can, tearing it to pieces. Logan followed, then Steven and Sam. Last, Lexie. All of them are awesome shooters. But by far the best are Dylan and Logan who got the farthest targets on the first try.

"Ok baby girl. Your turn." Logan says as he holds my hand and places a gun on my hand. My hand shakes from nervousness and it feels heavier than I thought.

"Now, first things first, ok? You gotta relax. Don't tense up, and hold it firmly. If you hold it wrong and shoot, you can hurt your wrist." He says as he holds my waist and guides my hands.

"Hold it firmly with both hands, don't press the trigger until you're ready to shoot. This is your safety button, always keep it locked, unlock it until you're ready. Second, be careful how you point." He continues to guide me, my heart pounding loud in my chest.

"Ok, now, hold it how I told you. Ease your sight, remember, your posture and your grip are very important, ok?" He says again and I nod. It takes me a few to ease off, but by my fifth try, I begin to lime it. He stands behind me, holding my waist the whole time. Which helps me relax.

My hand feels tingling each time I fire. Lexie smiles and high fives me when I actually hit a target from the farthest distance."Way to go baby girl. You're a natural." T yells from over his side with a smile.

Logan grabs the gun, locking it and taking off the rest of the ammo out, and grabs a
